Khan's Restaurant- Battersea

Really rather disappointing. The food was bland and the staff were overly focussed on selling rather than ensuring we had a good experience. Whilst the owner intervened to sort out a problem regarding the bill it was a little too late to recover the situation. The staff stated that they do not need to communicate what is charged. Unfortunately we will not be returning.
Good food and service, friendly staff
My favourite local Indian restaurant. Always consistently good.
When the waiter came, they said that they don't take credit cards. This was weird, as they advertise on the door that they do.
Loads of choice on the menu, and they a happy to customise as required. Poppa doms offered whilst we were scouring the menu. Loved every dish we chose. Lovely quiet environment in which to eat and chat. Complementary Bailies digestif a nice touch.
A group of 8 of us (4 guys 4 girls) cant upon Khan' decided very last minute to go for a curry and saw their 50% offer – which includes large groups – and decided to do some research. There are many reviews online for this restaurant and all rate it very highly, and this is another one.
The food is excellent (interesting and tasty), the value for money is great (after the 50% deal I think we ended up being about £17 per person for main each, sharing naan & rice and about 3 drinks each!) and the service is very friendly and attentive.
I will certainly go back and will be looking to see if they do takeaway as well!
Great feed and outstanding value with the Open Table special offer
Really delicious food, and great value with the 50% offer. However, the waiter refused to provide tap water with the meal, which is unacceptable service, and also contravenes the Licensing Act. This happened not just to ourselves but also to a nearby table. A pity.
Gorgeous flavors, wrapped with natural colours in a soothing environment lead to an exceptional experience for great value. We loved the food and could not eat all of it because there was so much.
Small restaurant and small portions! Food was ok but two of our curries looked suspiciously the same even tho we ordered different ones! Not the best Indian around!
1st visit to the restaurant being attracted with the 50% off food promotion. Unfortunately it doesn't apply to seafood ordering. We ordered a Biryani rice and a mix grill which the waiter has agreed to include the mix grill in the deal as it came with one miserable over-grilled prawn! The Biryani rice was not so presentable, the colour was dull unlike Biryani rice served in other restaurant with nice brownish colour & coriander leaves. The meat from the mix grill is alright.
The last thing I would comment is the drink, we ordered two soft drink which in the menu is one price but we were asked if we want a small or large glass; we chosen the large and the price charged is higher than what is in the menu.
Been so many times. Enough said.
With the 50% off deal, this restaurant was excellent value. Unfortunately there were no other diners so I can't really comment on the ambience. Service was reasonably fast and very courteous. Restaurant decor quite basic but unremarkable. Large portions of food and everything was really delicious.
Very much enjoyed our visit. Great value with the Open Table offer. Lots of options to chose from that are different from the norm. Very tasty.
Booked this on the 50% discount offer and was very impressed with the value. The food was very tasty and portion sizes were generous. The service was accommodating. Will definitely be returning.
As I've always said, probably the best Indian in Battersea and Clapham.
Booked this on Saturday night a couple weeks back for a large group (12) which quickly became 8 but Khan was more than happy to accommodate us. The service was personal and friendly, they made us feel incredibly welcome, nothing was too much for them.
The food was very good, fresh tasting clean indian food which is rare. The wine was okay but its an indian so stick to beers!
The 50% deal is just incredible value. Even without it it would still be considered excellent value. I think we paid more for booze than our meal. For 8 of us it it came to about £20 each with plenty to eat and lots to drink. Great value. Thanks
We dined here with the 50% discount offer. The food is truly outstanding for the value. Service is also great, with very nice staff always helpful and attentive.
This is genuinely a place to recommend, having been to India, to many Indian restaurants, of which quite a few in London. Go for it! Without a doubt.
An Indian that majors on low-fat, no-food-colouring sounds initially like a gimmick. It isn't. The food is excellent, the service attentive and welcoming. Even without the OpenTable offer it would be extremely good value.
Enjoyed my dinner at Khan's Restaurant.
Was expecting a good meal after eating at its parent restaurant in Epsom.
However a few of the curries were very bland, dipping sauces were flavorless.
Bad experience was rounded off by the bad service of waiters. For the starter and main, we rushed take our places before we actually finished.
Would not return here.
Excellent food, friendly service and a more pleasing environment than similar restaurants. The focus on healthy eating is refreshing and doesn't detract from tastiness at all.
Good value at 50% off on the OpenTable offer. Single tables very close together, gets uncomfortable when full. Mixed bag of food (we eat Indian/Nepalese a lot); one great starter, one basic starter...one decent/OK main course, one poor main course. Palace Spice just up the road wins the local battle for us, sorry.
Service was a little slow, and the menu/deal a little confusing, but the food was lovely and great value for money. Very handy for the Battersea Arts Centre
Khan's was the venue for the 34th SWOEMCC. It sits in an impressive 3rd position out of the 34 venues visited to date and with the 50% off food deal, it was by far the cheapest curry. Complimentary sherry at the end? I don't want it but I'll certainly drink it.
Well done, Mr Khan. Well done.
Using a Tastecard made this an amazing value meal. It was tasty and light - no oil on top for example! The service was friendly too. Will definitely return when in the area.
Varied menu, fantastic vegetarian choices all cooked fresh! I had the pumpkin masala and it was AMAZING! So tasty, and didn't feel greasy or heavy like some Indian food can. Amazing value with the 50% off too, will definitely be back!
Served quickly and efficiently. The staff worked hard to make it an enjoyable experience. My friends rated the breads and the vegetarian dishes.
Great food, Great service and 50% off! What more could you want? I will be back again and have recommended to others.
We went for my birthday meal and it was probably the best indian food ive ever had and the sercixe was outstanding and to top it if if you mention their offer they will give 50% of the final bill.
I have visited 2nd time in Khan’s which was fantastic King Prawn Changazi, Tasty sizzling Shashlik, Awesome Lamb Balti, Pumpkin Masala, Naan and Rice. Everything was Low Fat, without Color. Great Customer Service was unforgettable. I will definitely recommend and definitely will back again and again. That's the best ever in SW11.
Very friendly service, 50% off on a group meal on Saturday night for decent food. Would recommend.
We had our worst ever Indian meal at Khan's. This after some very good ratings and comments all round.
The base sauce for our meat and vegetable dishes had the same artificial taste and consistency, even though the one dish was the Balti chicken. We left more than half of our food. On top of that, the beers were warm.
The menu prices looked manipulated, with the prices on the online Opentable menu, the menu outside the restaurant and the one presented to us with our Opentable booking all different.
The service was excellent, the food was superb and with Open Table's 50% off the food this was fantastic value.
We have been to Khans many times and also used it for home delivery. The food has been consistently good for at least the last 5 years. I love the chicken green masala. Low cal, colour free, what more could you ask for from a ruby.
Very attentive and helpful service, the food was deliciious and tasted very fresh, the restuarant is very pleasant and the portions were generous. Overall, excellent value and we'll be returning soon.
I'm usually very picky when it comes to Indian cuisine but I consider "Khan's Restaurant", Lavender Hill, Clapham Junction to be one of the best Indian restaurants in London for the following reasons:
- Low Fat & Color Free Cusine
- they maintain very high standards of hygiene;
- food is not very oily yet retains the flavor and taste;
- service in the restaurant is superb; and
- pricing is very good value for money.
These have been justly recognized through the various "Best Chef of The Year Awards". I'd highly recommend a visit there if you're in Clapham. Believe me, you'll keep going back for more.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT VALUE, FRIENDLY, WOULD RECOMMEND
Fresh ingredients; flavoursome / aromatic dishes.
Ideal place for a romantic evening meal for two.
Table cloths, cutely and glasses all in good taste (unusual these days)
Well worth the 30min. wait (after a small confusion on the order) for such a tasty food. Good value with the 21.50 dine for two offer!!
Khan's in Battersea, London is the best curry house in the area. Ashamedly, we were there last Friday too. On leaving, one of the lovely staff joked, "See you tomorrow!" Thankfully he wasn't there when we rocked up last night. We go back so often because not only is the food delicious, but eating at Khan's is no more expensive than cooking similar dishes at home. The highlight of yesterday evening's meal was the mango lassi, which doesn't feature on the menu, but is one of the best I've tasted.
