Authentic Korean BBQ style food and place with individual BBQ grills at the table in front of you and a pull-down pull-up extractor above the grill so that the place doesn't end up smelling of the cooking food.
Two of us shared a platter of (mainly) mixed meats which was good value, fresh and tasty.
We also shared a starter of a stuffed aubergine, and this was delicious.
Main criticism is it seems strange there were few vege options to accompany the meats - our platter came with a couple of slim pieces of pumpkin and some onion and there were no side orders of veg that we could also BBQ - very odd and a great opportunity for Koba to do this.
One friend ordered a vegan dish (the range is very limited) but she really enjoyed it.
Food was absolutely delicious and the service outstanding. Second time coming here and definitely will return. The staff is so attentive and last time one of the waiters thought that the kimchi didn’t look fresh so he immediately brought me another portion which indeed tasted nicer and fresher. The overall experience definitely made my friends birthday a great evening out. Thank you 😊 Andrea
Great food from the starters to the desserts not the cheapest but definitely worth it. The staff were friendly and attentive.
My second time here at Koba, Always good food and service! Can’t wait to come back here for dinner.
Incredible small restaurant, fantastic staff, great food
Really enjoyable night out having Korean BBQ. Service was great my only small gripe was the waitresses lack of knowledge of the Korean wine.
The food was good, however the service was incredibly slow. We had one beer with our meal and when we requested another beer we had to remind the waitress three times to bring it. Our drinks came after our meal, we then attempted to order desert and once we got the waitress attention she said we can’t have desert as they needed our table back. Considering we had not used the allocated 1.5 hrs for a couple, and the waitress delayed us, and there was 4 empty tables and nobody waiting in line, I thought this was incredibly rude and shocking service! I regret paying the service charge. Do not book this restaurant for a special occasion or if you want to enjoy a drink with your meal.
I really enjoyed my time at Koba. I've been to a couple Korean BBQs in London and none have offered an authentic feel and in them I have often left smelling of food. KOBA had extractors so the food never wafted and the staff were always on hand to help and assist in cooking the meats which again I haven't had in other places, where I was left to my own devices. The staff were very attentive and nice, and the food was delicious, I would say value for money is in the platter style bbq. Drinks are super expensive though, the Soju bottle was the standard small bottle and it was near £20! Other than that, loved my experience and will definitely return.
We had the Korean bbq platter & the staff cooked it live for us on the central bbq. Great experience.
I enjoyed the food, it was very good, having been to Seoul I've found it hard to find a decent Korean bbq place in London.
My only gripe is that it is quite pricey if you want single items, you're better off getting the platter.
Koba never disappoints, the food quality is excellent, the personnel very kind and efficient, the atmosphere is cozy.
I use to come to the restaurant every time I wish to spend a relaxed evening with a friend, enjoying the best koren bbq in London, in my opinion.
Food was excellent but the service not so great. We were meant to have our table for an hour and half and were rushed through our meal from the moment we sat down. Even had our grill turned off before the last bit of meat was cooked.
Was a busy night but kept having to remind servers to being things which isn't ideal. Food was good. Have been there before but service wasn't great this time.
Food was great, however it felt as though the staff was rushing for us to finish faster.
Just wasn’t impressed, food lacked flavour they seemed to forget about our main order. Staff were friendly but food overall the experience was disappointing
delicious food， resonable price，really nice place
A great Korean BBQ in an enjoyable, lively restaurant.
Amazing restaurant. Would highly recommend
It was great. The bbq was amazing. The inly thing was that it was a bit smoky.. but understandable as its bbq.
Best Korean food in London. I was happy to have the best kimchi
Very nice restaurant. Value for money. Can be a bit busy but worth it
The food was good
However ther service was too good.
I put a note for the restaurant however they did not carry out what i has asked.
The place was good, the food as well, but the quantity was questionable. Still would recommend it to others. Service was great as well. Everyone was very polite and available
Deliciois food and good service. Had a great experience with great company
Absolutely delicious! My favourites are the spicy pork belly & the bulgogi... you just can't get enough!
Great spot. Service was a bit slow but they made up for it.
We were taken to the table 30mins later, and kept on being reminded that our table is for 1.5hr. Their approach was really rude as they wasted our time in the beginning so we argued that we get an extension of time as the delay was caused by them. At the end they just gave the bill without even asking if we wanted to order anything else. Everything was rushed. Food wise - beef really good, however seafood was really disappointing.
This was my first Korean BBQ experience and I was very hyped up about it and Koba didn't disappoint. The food was delicious, the service and ambiance were pleasant, the drinks were lovely. They offer 'selection' options for 2-3 people which was amazing as it enabled us to try more things. Would go again.
The place is very elegant. Each table has its own BBQ, within the table. The waiters will cook the food for you in front of you or you can cook it yourself. There are also items on the menu which will be prepared by the chef and served normally. Service was good. Only strange thing is that each table has its own extractor fan, which comes down and blocks your view of the person opposite; not a major thing. Definitely a different experience from your usual restaurant. Food was good.
Having been to Korea dozens of times, I would rate this above average. The calbi should be marinated which it wasn't. The cucumber kimchi (Oi sobegi) was very good. You don't find this often in Korean restaurants in London.
Food was relatively tasty but they didn’t seem to want to help us with the cooking at all. It wasn’t that busy. There aren’t many good Korean options in London though and this is the first I’ve been to that was decent and not a home in the wall.
Had the Koba bbq section and the food was very tasty. We also ordered the garlic rice which when it arrived was fairly small portion for the price.
Great Korean food, good barbecue experience similar to how they have the extractor fan on your table in Korea!
Great restaurant with great food
I feel food just like usuall korea bbq, nothing special and tasteless, just got 5-6 for food taste , other is ok
Really good food and good ambiance. Was my first time trying Korean BBQ and can say that will not be the last.
Great food, but sadly their service let them down. They forgot some of our order (but left it on the bill!) and weren’t all that helpful when the table next to us split red wine all over my partner.
Really good and fresh food. Had an amazing experiencie.
The food overall was good but the noodles were very bland and it felt rather expensive for what it was.
The barbecue is amazing:)
