Thank you all for yet another fantastic experience, really sad to see one of my favourite restaurants go but I'm sure the team will go on to do bigger and better things in the future. Thanks for all the memories!
It was the second time I went to Kopapa. I am never sure of what influence the food is from but what matters is that it is good. Highlight of my meal was the chilli choc fondant. The soup was good but could have done with more wild garlic. The seared tuna was a bit too cooked but very enjoyable. Service was very good and it was not too noisy.
Read some very good reviews about this restaurant... but were slightly disappointed. Bottle of wine was reasonably priced and good. Very extensive drinks menu compared to a rather limited food menu!
Starter was too salty for me (tiger prawn and chorizo scotch egg) and my friend's venison carpaccio was too cooked and not what we would expect for a carpaccio. The steamed dumpling of Scottish lobster, scallops and cod was weirdly presented and was bland.
Mains were better but my friend's side order never appeared before we finished our main course... I had the buckwheat crepe with smoked avocado ratatouille - failed to find any avocado flavour and although it was nice, cannot comprehend why it was so pricey. Duck was nicely cooked and so was the pork belly. The whole meal was over 40 pounds per person... hopefully will be better next time we come!
I don't really mind bad service as long as the food is up to par (and the staff isn't rude). I had the turkish eggs and my partner had the chorizo hash (which I ate half of because they had forgotten to place my order, as well as my drink). They fixed it pretty quickly though. All-in-all, a nice place to eat breakfast. Book ahead!
I booked this as a Sunday brunch for friends visiting from New Zealand. The table was booked for 130pm but when it came to ordering the avocado toast has already run out. The manager was quite rude in telling us that the table was only available for 90minutes and I felt this could have been delivered better.
Kopapa had been on my dining hit list for a while so when I was looking for a good value meal in Covent Garden I jumped at the chance to try out their pre-theatre menu. We had two courses each - the squid and the chorizo for starters and then we both had the lamb for our main. The food was seasoned well and had fantastic flavours and the wine was a hit with both of us. The desserts didnt appeal greatly to us so we left it at 2 courses feeling satisfied and relaxed after having a very enjoyable meal. Service was polite and friendly.
Food, drink and service was great prior to going to the theatre. We had a limited pre theatre menu however the choices on this menu alone were fabulous, let alone on the main menu. All food was delicious and the staff were attentive to our needs.
Never had a bad meal or experience at Kopapa. Happy repeat diner.
Food was spot on - I especially recommend the waffles and salmon dish. Overall perfect brunch menu in my view. Service was quick and friendly.
Great spot for brunch! Definitely a more interesting and diverse menu than your average eggs Benedict. I'll definitely be back to sample more! (Although, my boyfriend did say that the French toast was a little too thick and a bit on the dry side).
Food excellent, service friendly but could be better. didn't bring a drink that appeared on the bill, waitress didn't know what was in my dip that came with my starter. Also tried to take my food away before I'd finished. Would definitely go back.
We could then enjoy more the ambience and the food from this Michelin restaurant without a rush
Just feel like it will be 5 stars if everything could slow a bit so that it won't be so business like meal it will be more relaxing for our weekend brunch
This was a birthday outing and it lived up to expectations. There was a good range of breakfast options for vegetarians, and the food tasted great and was well presented. I recommend the field mushrooms, while my partner's Turkish eggs were also sumptious. The cafe had a friendly, informal atmosphere, and we were able to chat and read the paper while we lingered over this breakfast treat. We booked for 11.00 a.m., and came out just over an hour later: we did not need any lunch that day!
Very good and exciting food!
Food was good and place is pretty cool but we had to wait for about 50 minutes to get served (on a Friday night). Way too long
Turkish eggs and amazing coffee - a great stand out brunch - however not much space to move around in there - as they have crammed in the tables
Worth it for the food though
Thanks!
Great food, fast friendly service and the set menu offering is reasonably priced.
Did forget to give us lemon with our squid however, very small error but overall a great experience.
Will be back to try brunch at some stage.
I love the kopapa fusion food concept but find it on the pricier side. Food was good however ambience was lacking on a Monday evening (the restaurant was maybe 10% occupied during the 2.5 hours we were there).
We chose the restaurant because we were entertaining friends before an early theatre trip so had to have brunch rather than a lunch somewhere. As this restaurant does brunch every day we thought that it would be well versed in the art of a good egg selection. Poached eggs were mostly served but out of the 8 eggs that came to our table only one had a slightly runny centre the rest were hard and cold. Not impressed.
Service was a bit slow on Friday night...in particular, our waiter seemed continually confused (maybe he was new?). Some of our food was also a little tepid. However, the food there is great - well cooked and presented. Go for a relaxed evening with friends!
The service was good staff very polite. The food was full of flavour and delicious as it always is and the set menu is great value. We need to come back to try the brunch and the famous Turkish eggs.
Soft shell crab burger was fantastic, not sure that the Turkish eggs really live up to the hype.
Had a lovely brunch and was looking forward to their famed doughnuts for dessert, were told by a server who then disappeared that we had to wait 12 mins before we could order dessert as they were switching to main menu.
The time came and went and we were offered different menu with different desserts, we mentioned that we were specifically waiting for doughnuts , we were informed that there were none left at all and they had ran out over an hour ago.
This was disappointing and annoying as we'd waited so long, manager was apologetic and deducted our drinks from our bill for the inconvenience which was nice but it would be better for them to be clear about what is available to order and at what time !
THis place is popular so make sure you book in advance. In a really convenient location too.
Excellent food! Great experience! Softer light in the restaurant would make it perfect for a romantic dinner ;)
I generally love this place but a couple of dishes let them down this visit. The seafood dumpling was watery and lacked flavour. The lamb in the spring roll was a bit dry. But the pork belly was excellent as was the baileys cheesecake.
A tad on the expensive side, (a side of half an avo was about £3!) and my Turkish eggs were a little buttery/oily for me, but good service and nice atmosphere. The Chorizo hash looked yummy.
Chose Kopapa for a pre theatre dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I only had time for a main course but the portion size and quality of the food was very good. The food is also inventive and combines some interesting flavors and ideas. I recommended the restaurant to my daughter who visited the week after and she also enjoyed it too.
This is a great litle resurant loved the attention to detail in presenting different flavours. Great food and and some very pleasant wine too.
I love Kopapa - great cocktails, delicious food and great service. Will definitely be back again (and again).
Had a great meal with friends at Kopapa. Particularly recommended for the creative and satisfying vegetarian options!
It is all about the Turkish Eggs at Kopapa. Delicious, spicy and creamy. Practically every table had a portion of this on their table. Perfect for brunch. Will be returning. Specifically for the eggs.
Love love this restaurant, food is amazing, a huge variety of options ranging from salads to burgers and anything in between. Personally i am in love with the turkish eggs, but they do amazing chorizo hash browns too and smoothies. Food is my main thing with this place... decor is okay, location is bang in the middle of covent garden but definitely come here for the food. and try their sister restaurant too in marylebone- the providores, also amazing!
A mouthwatering supper to round off an evening at the theatre - fabulous flavours and something to suit everyone in a group of 15-57 year olds. Kopapa is already a firm favourite in our family - and we'll keep spreading the word.
I imagine Kopapa used to be better than this. It has the feeling of somewhere with good ideas that have just been left in the wrong hands. They must be cutting corners on the quality of the ingredients and I don't think they've picked the right chefs to create their interesting dishes to a high enough quality. I have a feeling that the location, the sound of the menu and the initial impression guarantees they'll always be busy, so they've become slack in their delivery. The prices are way to high for average versions of interesting dishes.
Visited Kopapa pre theatre and enjoyed their set menu (even though they didn't have what I wanted :() - good service, nice buzz. Wine a bit pricey based on quality. Nice cocktails too!
Had been recommended Kopapa by a friend for pre-theatre dinner and had high hopes. Menu appeared to live up to expectations on paper, it was innovative (tempura dahl) and seemed to embody some great taste combinations. Unfortunately the reality was that turned out to be slightly 'samey' with quite similar flavours and textures that meant we felt uncomfortably full afterwards and not overly impressed. Service was also lacking, the pre-theatre menu had been printed wrong and was therefore misleading... and we had to ask multiple times for several parts of our course - not what you would expect from a place like this. That being said, was overall an enjoyable experience.
Excellent breakfast menu, especially the smoked salmon
Such a shame this place has closed 😞
