Restaurant did not have my OpenTable reservation, but were still able to seat us. Food was very good. Server was new (first day) but very nice (and helped by others.)
Restaurant seemed unable to cope with additional demand due to it being Mother's Day. Food took 40mins to arrive, and when it did the children's "omelettes" were cold and dry and had to be returned.
The adults' food was good, but after such a delay with a 7-year-old and a 4-year-old, we did NOT have a nice time!
The food was fresh and tasty. For starters we had the smoke fish and gravelax smoked with the beetroot. We had the sharing meat board which had so many good flavours and was more then enough for two people. Very happy.
Nice atmosphere, wasn’t too busy, service was great, bottomless brunch for 25 was great value!
Small portions, mediocre quality
This was my first visit to KuPP and it won't be my last. The style is based on Scandinavian fair and is excellent for lunch.
Excellent service and amazing food. Exceeded our expectations and is a very sociable way to eat for a group of people. Highly recommend for something different with clean quality ingredients being used for innovative food boards and punchy cocktails!
My friend and I decided to go for a last minute bottomless brunch and the menu seemed fairly vegan friendly with a few deductions here and there (she's omnivore so no problem for her). We arrived for our booking and was surprised to learn that the brunch is only done in platters and I didn't want her to have to eat the veggie platter if she wanted to eat something else. This fact wasn't made clear on the menu we viewed prior to making our booking, so we ended up ordering from the a la carte menu and not having any bottomless prosecco. As a vegan, all I could have was the smashed avocado on toast (which ended up being a thin, crispbread when I was expecting a decent slice of sourdough toast) and chips. We could've gone somewhere else, but with it being 3pm and us not knowing the area that well, we stuck it out. My friend enjoyed her club sandwich, but I was very disappointed with the bland avocado on crispbread and bowl of herby chips (but no herbs were visible to us). There wasn't anything on the dessert menu I could eat either so I left there feeling very hungry and very disappointed. I think there should be more flexibility with the brunch menu so that veggies and meat eaters don't end up stuck like we were. Also, if you are a vegan, don't come here expecting a feast because you won't find one.
Really lovely brunch here. Our server was lovely. Those scandi Collins cocktails are dangerous though!
Would definitely go back!
The service was really friendly and helpful, liked the salmon koulebiak as main course recommended to us. The cheesecake desert was disappointing but they kindly agreed to take it out of the bill so good impression overall. Would rather recomnend.
We had a lovely meal at KuPP last Saturday. The food was very fresh and all cooked in an open kitchen. There was a lot of choice for everyone - including me, a vegetarian. The service was very friendly and helpful. It was really nice to eat somewhere a bit different from pizza, pasta, curry. We tried some interesting dishes and we all really enjoyed everything.
The setting is nice in a quiet part of Paddington by the canal. Very convenient for the train journey home too!
I would definitely recommend KuPP if you enjoy experiencing new dishes and flavours in a modern, canal side setting.
We booked the bottomless brunch. The service was poor we were there over an hour without food. Finally the waiter admitted there was a delay in the kitchen.
When the food finally came it was good.
There is only two cocktails as part of the deal.
(Neither are sweet) .
It would make all the difference if there was a sparkling wine as an option.
Not sure i would go again.
The location is nice.
Booked for Valentine’s Day to try something different. Staff were incredibly friendly and the food was very tasty. Good value for money and would definitely go back again.
The weekend brunch was an ok deal. Food was fresh and nice and you get to choose from three types of drinks including beer. I would've preferred a buffet style brunch though as it took quite a long time to prepare the plates and you couldn't order a new plate before the previous one was finished.
Good location for Paddington station as an alternative to the usual station offerings. We were meeting friends for Sunday brunch before leaving town. We’d booked but there was space, although the place was busy and lively enough. We were nicely welcomed and service was attentive but unobtrusive. The Nordic-inspired food was really beautifully presented and tasty, value not bad. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.
Lack of staff and awful service. Waited 50 mins to drinks and when we did order food the starters arrived with the mains, which meant no room on the table. The mains that were sent back were like warm when we ate. Not a great experience
Excellent meatballs and good portions that fill you up. Good wheelchair access too.
I went for my birthday at breakfast time, the food was really nice and the ambient very friendly. The service was superb ...
Large restaurant with wooden tables- food was quite unusual and very good would certainly recommend the smorgasbord to share - mains are large portions - excellent value. Lacking a little in ambiance but would be great in the summer with doors open onto the canal basin.
Fresh and very tasty food served quickly. Lovely setting any weather.
Not enough staff to cope with the amount of tables. All meals came at different times.
Service was quite slow and not always the most attentive but food was lovely
We went to Kupp for our anniversary as we wanted to try a new quirky cuisine that didn't cost an arm and a leg.
The menu met our expectations and the service was spotless.
We had a nice chat with an Italian waiter and learnt a lot about the culture of the restaurant and brand and recommended a great choice of beers.
Of course is nothing fancy, but if you don't mind a casual diner Kupp is a great option.
A disaster all round: poor service, bad food - tasted and looked like old left overs from the weekend... embarrassing experience especially for a business dinner
The food was good - tasty and fresh. The service was courteous but we had to make a point of getting our waiter's attention.
Quite average bacon and avocado open sandwich , service friendly .
Excellent food but noisy environment in the week before Christmas
The place had an outstanding location overlooking the Paddington Basin. Modern in design and tastefully decorated, with an an open plan design, it had a bar area and a dining area, and an open kitchen.
The meal was delicious; the food flavours were excellent! It had a real authentic Nordic taste, which made it refreshingly different.
The place was really busy, which for a mid-week early evening timing was showing its popularity. It did have a little knock on effect that the service was a little slow, but on the other hand made it relaxing too!
See you soon
The food was good, maybe even really good. However the restaurant was basically empty on a Saturday night, and the service was just bizarre. We had no fewer than three servers speaking with us, sometimes even immediately after another. One server appeared to want to socialize with us more than anything, but very very awkwardly and somewhat intrusively.
Brunch - excellent atmosphere, fantastic value, a really good and not too extensive menu. Shame the smorgasbords aren't available for brunch but still came away happy.
Given that the restaurant was almost empty we found the service to be very slow. The waiter tried to sell us a £25 dish, when we only wanted two starters to share at half the price.
The meat in the chorizo starter tasted the same as that in the meatballs and burgers that we did order.
The beer that we originally ordered turned out not to be available after all - having waited 20 minutes for this to be told this . One of the waiters was impossible to understand and tried to sell us a more expensive beer than the one originally ordered. The food was very late in coming - despite the restaurant being almost empty. The potatoes with my dish were cold with meatballs. The cocktail I ordered was luke warm, flat mixer and seemingly without any alchohol in it.
All in all rather disappointing - potentially better in the week when full of office workers?
Booked this as had never tried Norwegian cuisine. Creative dishes with a good amount of options. I would Highly recommend the flat iron steak- delicious!
Excellent, friendly service and delicious vegetarian options. Good spot for a catch up with a friend.
Fresh, simple ingredients that delivered a great taste. The venison burger was gut-busting, tasty and messy, as a decent burger should be. Great for a weekend lunch.
Great food & service, will definitely return. Was pretty quiet on a Sunday afternoon but least it was easy to get a table.
Lovely place but the service was painfully slow and it was expensive for the portion sizes.
Nice little find near Paddington. The fish board and smoke board are good sharers. The cocktails are a bit too herb like for my tastebuds, but if you like dill and such infused spirits you will be super happy. Service not the greatest and staff a bit unknowledgeable but didn't look like there was a manager about so no wonder.
Both of us enjoyed our visit, overall the food was good, and the service was decent.
We had the following:
Chorizo sausage roll - lovely, highly recommended!
Beetroot stained gravadlax - not as good as we were expecting, didn't finish it.
Carpaccio of venison and spidskal - nice, and well presented, but probably wouldn't choose again.
Honey and mustard crushed new potatoes - lovely, I wish we had ordered more!
Roasted butternut squash and buttered kale - really nice, I'm not a big fan of kale, but we still ate it all.
Aquavit poached apricot and chocolate cake trifle - really nice, we both liked it.
Walnut & something? cake - again really nice.
When we spoke to staff they were really nice, and as we were on a date it was great that they left alone to chat, though it was hard to attract attention when we needed it.
Slightly expensive, but not bad by London prices.
Overall would recommend, and would go back.
Great service, food and atmosphere. Had a good bottle of wine and enjoyed the freshness of the food!
