KuPP Paddington Ratings and Reviews
The great thing about Kupp is the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In addition the presence of the canal with its wildlife and boats makes for a bit of excitement and the unusual.
The service has improved a good deal since the restaurant opened and the waiting is now almost unnoticed. The best menu is varied and the food is extremely tasty. It is a shame that the hamburgers fall under 'health and safety' and have to be well done. The chocolate cake and ice cream were to die for!
Went twice last weekend with my wife and young son, once for late Saturday lunch and then again for Sunday breakfast. Food is very good, kid's menu is perfect, coffee wonderful. Fiske Bord was excellent; butternut & kale salad also very good; kids meatballs were devoured in an instant. Ambiance is terrific alongside the canal. Service is friendly and efficient. Great neighborhood place that is casual but with a real touch of class.
Beautiful brand new restaurant. Scandinavian style and child friendly setting. High quality food with excellent and attentioned service by two Italian waiters. Will go there again but would suggest keeping an eye on food quantity as first time we were there plates were a bit more generous than the second. Yet a gem!
Large restaurant with wooden tables- food was quite unusual and very good would certainly recommend the smorgasbord to share - mains are large portions - excellent value. Lacking a little in ambiance but would be great in the summer with doors open onto the canal basin.
We went to Kupp for our anniversary as we wanted to try a new quirky cuisine that didn't cost an arm and a leg.
The menu met our expectations and the service was spotless.
We had a nice chat with an Italian waiter and learnt a lot about the culture of the restaurant and brand and recommended a great choice of beers.
Of course is nothing fancy, but if you don't mind a casual diner Kupp is a great option.
The place had an outstanding location overlooking the Paddington Basin. Modern in design and tastefully decorated, with an an open plan design, it had a bar area and a dining area, and an open kitchen.
The meal was delicious; the food flavours were excellent! It had a real authentic Nordic taste, which made it refreshingly different.
The place was really busy, which for a mid-week early evening timing was showing its popularity. It did have a little knock on effect that the service was a little slow, but on the other hand made it relaxing too!
Nice little find near Paddington. The fish board and smoke board are good sharers. The cocktails are a bit too herb like for my tastebuds, but if you like dill and such infused spirits you will be super happy. Service not the greatest and staff a bit unknowledgeable but didn't look like there was a manager about so no wonder.
Both of us enjoyed our visit, overall the food was good, and the service was decent.
We had the following:
Chorizo sausage roll - lovely, highly recommended!
Beetroot stained gravadlax - not as good as we were expecting, didn't finish it.
Carpaccio of venison and spidskal - nice, and well presented, but probably wouldn't choose again.
Honey and mustard crushed new potatoes - lovely, I wish we had ordered more!
Roasted butternut squash and buttered kale - really nice, I'm not a big fan of kale, but we still ate it all.
Aquavit poached apricot and chocolate cake trifle - really nice, we both liked it.
Walnut & something? cake - again really nice.
When we spoke to staff they were really nice, and as we were on a date it was great that they left alone to chat, though it was hard to attract attention when we needed it.
Slightly expensive, but not bad by London prices.
Overall would recommend, and would go back.
Found this restaurant after looking for Scandinavian specialist as husband used to live there. Great location overlooking the waterfront albeit nothing else around. Food was amazing - we shared the fish board and then had venison and steak - all were great tasting and very well cooked. Fish board is big, so could easily have more than 2 people sharing as a starter. We'd booked for 7pm as apparently no tables available at 7.30pm, however, reasonably empty for a Saturday night, so not sure why? Service was very attentive and friendly, plus knowledgable about how food was made when asked, throughout the meal, however, this completely changed once we'd finished our main meal...we were essentially ignored for over an hour, certainly not offered dessert or coffees or additional drinks, so unfortunately they missed out on more sales because we left instead (after taking a while to get their attention to pay our bill that is!). If you like scandanavian inspired food, then this is worth the trip and hopefully their service will be more consistent then we experienced.
