Kyloe Restaurant & Grill
Our first floor restaurant can be found in The Rutland Hotel at Edinburgh’s West End and boasts enviable views of Edinburgh Castle. We are open from 12pm for lunch and 5pm for dinner serving menus created by our award-winning head chef John Rutter
If you're a steak lover this restaurant is a must to visit when in Edinburgh. Staff are very helpful & cheerful. Everything is explained in detail and food is amazing.
Excellent service and food, will definitely be back.
Incredible night, goodness delicious and service was excellent.
Excellent food, great atmosphere just an all round great experience.
Food, wine and service all excellent - best place for steak in Edinburgh! I requested a window table as it was a special occasion and this request was met with a lovely table looking onto Princess Street.
The only negative I have is that on booking I had mentioned that it was a special birthday meal out and no gesture was made from the staff to mention or celebrate this. Other tables around us were given happy birthday/anniversary cakes etc from the restaurant, so that was a bit disappointing.
Great service. Masses of food. The Goat's cheese starter and the venison main were beautifully cooked. Beef dripping chips!! The Cranachan and the Baked Alaska desserts were GOREGOUS.
Kyloe was recommended to me by a friend and didn’t disappoint. It was my son’s 21st so we were in Edinburgh for the day and booked for lunch.
Steaks were just perfect and pudding was delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive without being too obvious.
Small but well cooked steaks, a bit on the stingy and pricey side. Fantastic service and lovely setting, I left satisfied but not entirely wowed
Awesome experience. Best steak I have had in a long time and great value for money. Staff extremely attentive. Highly recommend.
Excellent ambience and service on a post rugby international evening. Only criticism was Sirloin cut had run out and steak was undercooked to my taste- but otherwise very enjoyable.
Amazing Sunday lunch ! Lovely venue and fantastic service. Highly recommend
Didn't have the best experience with communication after I had made the original booking, but we did get the Sunday Roast that we were looking for - it was very good. Bad point of the day was that we were told that we could not get a pint of Guiness because the bar was too busy - I'm not convinced that this is the kind of service that Kyloe should be promoting.
Visited Kyloe many times before and it’s always consistent everything. Excellent food, service and ambience.
It’s one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh but by far my favourite steak house.
We all had the Chateaubriand and it was delicious. The staff are excellent, so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
We’ll be back for another visit again soon.
If had not been for some issues with the cooking of the sides - and no doubt a bit too much noise for my 55 year old ears, this would have been five stars.
The services was great, the meat awesome and the wine we drank (an Argentinian Malbec) excellent and very good value for money.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant
Our third visit to kyloe. The food was amazing as always. However I specified when booking our table that we required one gluten and dairy free menu. One of the dishes must of contained dairy. This was either the bread at the beginning or the green beans and chilli. My partner had an allergy reaction and suffered uncomfortably through the night with stomach pains.
When we finished our bread. The starter arrived immediately. When we finished our starter. The main meal arrived very shortly after. The service was rushed and we did not get to enjoy our meal fully. We were left disappointed by this
Fantastic experience. Second time visiting and the service and quality didn’t disappoint
Excellent food and service! Will definitely return!
The starters and main course food and service were excellent. The dessert was a little disappointing as the fondant was not gooey in the middle but dry abc the ice cream serve was tiny. The coffee was really poor and cold so it was removed from the bill.
Outstanding food & service at a very reasonable price.
Great steaks and service. Very relaxed evening in a fab spot.
From when we arrived, the staff were excellent. My wife needs disabled access & this was no problem as staff directed us to the lift. Waiting time for the food was good considering the type of food you are getting. The soup starter was excellent.....the sunday roast dinner was outstanding.....& the treacle tart dessert was perfect, not too sweet. Would 100% recommend & we will be back for 2nd's.
Another great evening at kyloe's.
Lovely meal, excellent service.
Great restaurant, very good steak and at a reasonable price.
Amazing food & service definitely be back! Nice atmosphere friendly staff
What an excellent evening at this place! Amazing service and staff made us so welcome - having told the venue in advance about my mums bday, we were really treated like vips and was definitely a highlight of our weekend in Edinburgh! Thank you and we look forward to returning next time we are in the city! :)
Excellent location, steak and atmosphere
Nice bar below
Amazing food - we had the express lunch menu, and you sometimes think you don’t get the quality when you do this, not at KYLOE it was Fantastic - service amazing - will be back.
Excellent meal. This was an overdue return visit after a 5 year gap. It was that visit on a previous trip that prompted this return visit. There had been some minor updates to the decor since my last visit. The service and the quality of the food remained unchanged and at a very high standard. I can thoroughly recommend the "scotch egg" starters and the chateaubriand sharer for main. Extensive wine selection will not disappoint with something to meet most tastes and budgets.
I booked Kyloe again after a very successful visit in January and my friends were not disappointed. Although one of the steaks was a little below temperature it was dealt with quickly and efficiently- just added to a very impressive service
This was our second time at Kyloe and again the food did not let us down. Steaks were amazing and the most pleasant surprise was the mushroom sides. I could have eaten 3 of the beef shin starter!
Really nice staff, service was slow though. Steak tartar and mussels starters were okay but not very flavoursome. The steak was nice but again, not the best we’d tasted. Side sauces were heavily salted. Wine was overpriced for the quality. Atmosphere was lovely and really nice decor. Overall I good experience but would probably go other places for steak.
Great place, great food, great atmosphere. Definitely recommend
Very welcoming visit with very knowledgeable and attentive staff. Food was excellent and will definitely be back. Especially good as one person has a gluten free diet and staff accommodated this very well.
There for my partner’s birthday, as we do every year. As always fantastic service and food. He was even given a dessert as part of his birthday celebrations.
He says that it would be his last meal if he ever gets the choice on that!! :)
Awesome food. Service was great, all the options were explained to us and they come out with the meat and show you what your ordering. Steak was cooked to perfection. Cannot fault anything
Loved the atmosphere and the 2 waiters who looked after us on our visit. Food was top standard and wine was devine. Restaurant is centrally located and was easy to find. It's slightly on expensive side, and definitely a place for special occasions as the whole experience is worth it. One niggling bit was the person who was looking after the entrance and guest seating. We were 10mins early to our 6pm reservation the girl who checked my name and confirmed reservation asked us to wait at the downstairs bar and assured us she would come n collect us. But she disappeared after few mins and a number of other guests just walked and were seated and served well before we were. In spite of this negative experience at the beginning of the evening we enjoyed the meal and rest of the service.
Quite frankly the best restaurant in Edinburgh for amazing steak and trimmings. Fabulous wine, chilled ambience and great service.
Absolutely fabulous food, great service, bit pricey but will be back each time we are in Edinburgh. 😃
The food we had was lovely but was a bit disappointed they had run out of a couple of main dishes. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable and they were happy to show you the steaks on offer and talk you through the different cuts. The pork cheeks were amazing and my husband raved about the rump steak he had. Starters were large platefuls and we were also given a crispy loaf of bread to accompany them. Didn't have room for a sweet. It was value for money and we will definitely be back. The only complaint was the lighting. We both found it a bit dark they could do to turn the lights up a bit especially to read the menu.
