The restaurant was lively. When we arrived, they weren't aware we had booked through "Open Table" but as we had arranged to go to dinner at 18:30 they were still able to accommodate. Lovely ambience & great food.
Lovely restaurant in a good location
Food outstanding. Nice selection of drinks
Best meal I've had in ages.
Only slight thing that made it less than 100% was the main course was served a little too quickly
So it's 99.5%
I'm not complaining about that
It's a must
We will be back
Lovely food, generally excellent service, with just a couple of niggles.
Mostly served by Emma, who was excellent. Very friendly and efficient.
We weren't keen on the location of our table at first, right next to a busy station regularly used by staff, but in asking to be moved they were happy to agree.
Like all restaurants with no soft furnishings it was a bit noisy, with one particularly annoying loud giggler!
But theses two niggles were overshadowed by the yummy food. Highly recommended.
We loved the food and service...nothing too much trouble. We chose to lunch outside which was fine but we were a little durprised to be partially in a car park and bus stop. Other than tat it was lovely.....you probably wouldn't notice if you were indoors.
Delicious. The food was brilliant (& beautifully presented), and the service was very good. Would highly recommend!
Excellent experience, very pleasant surprise. Food was really good, service very friendly.
Sadly there was a large noisy Christmas party at the same time, but only to be expected at this time of year. Everything else was as usual very good.
The good and service was exceptional with very friendly and attentive staff. Planning to visit again when family come to visit
Birthday meal. Lovely food and ambience. Staff were attentive and inobtrusive.
Good quayside restaurant , popular, relaxed outdoor / indoor space, extensive menu and very reasonable prices
with some of the comments on tripadvisor we expected better.
They seemed understaffed on Saturday & we had to wait almost an hour for our first course. Also the smoothie machine was incredibly noisy.
Food was very good, steak and pork belly was well cooked
We had a great meal with really good food, drink and fabulous service. The tuna steak was absolutely wonderful and the staff were really helpful in terms of choosing both drinks and food. The whole evening had a relaxed unhurried feel and the restaurant was filled with a mix of family parties and smaller groups. We will be back
Enjoyable lunch in attractive surroundings. Great menu and service.
I cannot understand why this is not packed to the rafters. I have been here twice and was delighted with everything. The service is excellent and, it seems, is carried out by professional staff (as opposed to those lovely, keen, local youngsters, who nevertheless have no idea of the importance of excellent service). The food was delicious and well presented. We shared a starter (more than enough for 2). My wife's tuna steak was the best she has ever had. My lamb was delicious .... but a bit too fatty for me. The cheesecake was excellent. What's not to like?!
It was unfortunate that our anniversary was on a Tuesday evening as the bar was fairly quiet which dampened the ambience. Also my wife was poorly with an upset stomach by the time we returned home and she was ill all the following day. Whether it was the food or a bug no one knows for sure but it has put us off returning. Sorry I couldn't give a great review. Your staff were attentive and friendly and the food seemed OK (my meal was very enjoyable )and we enjoyed a cocktail each.
Absolutely excellent service. My partner had to leave part-way through meal for escaped dogs at home and they delayed his main course without any problem. Excellent food, ambience and value for money.
Lovely setting and ambience. Great service and superb food. Loin of cod particularly noteworthy. Highly recommended.
Great location in Topsham, this light airy restaurant serves good food which is well presented. Staff are friendly. Relaxed vibe. Vigilant regarding food preparation for customers with allergies. Highly recommended.
Excellent meal with good attentive and friendly staff. Good choice of food and drinks. Nice that most wines can be purchased in various quantities at very reasonable prices.
I'm afraid we we disappointed with our first visit to L'Estuaire. The first main fish Papillote was undercooked, and the others were served in a very excessive, runny, thin sauce. The waitress service was not attentive, and there were several other minor shortcomings.
I did subsequently feed back to the owner, who replied with many apologies, and said they were very short-staffed when we visited, so perhaps we were just unlucky.
enjoyable evening meal , seved by a friendly waitress. would return.
We found our visit to the restaurant average, the food was ok. Not impressed that the starter charcuterie board had salad instead of the olives & sun blush tomatoes on the menu. Staff did not give us an opportunity to feedback and although we could have said I find that complaining takes the edge off your birthday meal. The mains were ok, fries that came with mussels were not very nice. The staff are pleasant enough but seem to lack personality. The speed of service was good. It is not my intention to be rude just honest about our experience. We won't be rushing back I'm afraid.
On our recent holiday we stopped here for Lunch, it was so good we went back for Dinner a few days later. Don't be fooled by the outside this is a very pretty comfortable venue with wonderful service and very good food.
Enjoyed an excellent meal at the restaurant. The duo of lamb was superb. The service was first class. Attentive without being over bearing. I would certainly go back.
A special occasion to celebrate, good food excellently presented and cooked perfectly. We thought the Lamb dish was a tad expensive compared to other dishes on the menus, but a good concept, portion size was good, they didn't do Rioja by the glass, which was disappointing, but it didn't spoil the occasion. We would definitely pay another visit and recommend this restaurant.
Service was quite rushed. Main meal was good and starter was standard Think the desserts were a let down. My apple pie was not up to restaurant standard and was sent out cold. The restaurant itself is a good location and a very nice venue just a shame the whole experience was not special.
L'Estuaire is a great place for a special meal. The food is delicious, the staff helpful and professional and the ambience warm and welcoming.
We were meeting a friend who had moved to Devon and thought Topsham looked nice so checked the restaurants and L'Estuaire looked good - and it was. We all went for the light lunch which was actually quite a large lunch. Couldn't resist the desert of the day which was Eaton Mess - lovely strawberries. (They let dogs in which was lovely to see - like being in France)
The two female waitresses were great, couldn't do enough for me and my partner. The mezze platter was a nice starter but the mains were a major disappointment. My partner had the Pork Belly but it had more fat than meat on and I had the Penne Della Cassa but it was all melted cheese. Based on this I think that the mains are highly overpriced, and I can't imagine we'll visit again for that reason.
The food was outstanding I had the Camembert and then steak and I have never tasted anything so melt in your mouth
