Chef and Owner Giuseppe Martuscelli's roots and knowledge of fine foods and wines originated in the town of Santa Maria Di Castellabate near Salerno, Italy. Giuseppe came to America with the Italian Navy in 1967 and returned to stay in 1973, settling in Newark, Delaware to open La Casa Pasta in 1978.
Since then, he has made it his goal to serve only the most authentic Northern and Southern Italian foods. Each year, he travels back to his homeland and beyond to learn new recipes and import ingredients not to be found in the states.
pasta, beans of all sizes & shapes
crab filled ravioli, white creamy crab sauce
The food at La Casa Pasta is always outstanding. Prices are also very reasonable for what you get and the bread is amazing. Service last night was a little slow- our waiter seemed to be very overworked- but we weren't in any hurry so we somewhat enjoyed the slower pace for dining.
Love. This. Place. The lasagna is a family favorite but you can’t choose wrong.
We're visiting from out of state, and were surprised to be able to get a last-minute reservation here after being turned away by several other Italian restaurants. We were concerned about quality given how easy it was to get in when everyone else was full. To our surprise and delight, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambience was comfortable and welcoming. I had the manicotti, my husband had the mostaccioli paesano, and my daughter had the naked fish (tilapia) with Sicilian topping, and all were fantastic. My daughter has some dietary limitations, and our waitress was careful to ensure that her special requests were met. We'll be in Newark for a few more days, and we plan to return again to try different dishes!
We celebrated our 38 year wedding anniversary at our favorite Italian restaurant! The Food along with the staff and the ambiance was impeccable! The deserts topped the Evening off with perfection! And to our surprise a couple having dinner in the restaurant sent us Two Lemancella cocktails ( Thanks Mike and Louann) to add to the already perfect evening.
Wonderful wait staff, caring bartender and fabulous chef!!!
Even on a busy weekend in a college town Newark, La Casa Pasta was very good. Service was fast and the food was delicious with enough choices on their "limited Menu" for that evening during Parents Weekend. The Cannelloni de Mare was outstanding!
Lacasa Pasta is our go to restaurant. Food is always great and despite being crowded our server Mike was flawless!!
Our server was Michael and he was fantastic! As always the food was great!
Hostess busy taking an order on the phone when we arrived, did not acknowledge us. Stood and waited for 5 minutes before someone realized and helped us to our table.
Chicken piccata was awful. Meat looked boiled and had no flavor, counted a whopping 6 capers on the plate. They put red sauce on the pasta that came with it for some reason. Mostaccioli was ok, but unimpressive for the price.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Delaware. The food is always good. The food is always right from the kitchen and the wait staff is professional and friendly.
Everything was great. Excellent food and service.
Took a couple of my staff to lunch as appreciation for a managing through a very stressful 6 weeks. It was awesome.
Food was good service good
Great suburban Italian dining.
This family-run restaurant has excellent homemade food (including pasta), and a pleasant atmosphere.
Made a return trip with my wife after a long hiatus due to the pandemic. La Casa Pasta has always been one of our favorite restaurants and it still is. Specialty cocktails (Negroni for me, Sunny Sangria for my wife) were very tasty and hit the spot on a hot August night. We shared the Mozzarella de Bufala appetizer, with the fresh, creamy mozzarella accented by fresh tomatoes and roasted peppers. Delicious! We could’ve had two more it was so good. For entrees my wife had Spaghetti and meatballs, and I had Orrechiette with Broccoli rabe and sausage. The pastas were fresh and perfectly al dente. Meatballs were tender and well seasoned. Sausage had as nice spice to it, and the broccoli rabe was sautéed in EVOO and some garlic. I ate every bite, and sopped up the rest of the sauce with the fresh baked Italian bread - scrumptious! We capped off our meals with Cannoli and Tiramisu desserts, and espresso and cappuccino to wash them down. I can’t tell you how much we missed this place - everything was on point and absolutely delicious! Our server, Alivia, did a fantastic job pacing the meal and taking care of us. If you live anywhere near northern Delaware make the trip to La Casa Pasta for some great, authentic Italian food!
Excellent food, excellent service, very nice ambiance. Great place for every occasion, large party or small.
Dinner was excellent.
D’Rell was very friendly and polite.
However there were Three tables near us, with three different waitstaff, and all three of them presented the specials differently and some left them out of the conversational together.
Highly Recommend, food is always great , and excellent coffee
Food is fresh and delicious. Service was great. Dining room is very clean.
It was excellent food, environment, and service as always.
Overall the food was very good. I prefer independent operations like this versus chains. Excellent variety with the menu. Enjoyed the wine. Our only disappointment was the red sauce. It was like it came out of the can/jar. I would have expected something made from scratch considering all if the other offerings.
Our go to for special nights out
It was very noisy and crowded. Didn’t expect it to be so crowed for a weekday. The food was excellent and so was our server.
Never disappoints. Delicious as always.
Great dinner with friends. From cocktails, appetizers, through main courses, everything was exceptional. Relaxed, unhurried atmosphere.
Consistently a great meal and experience, the real our family and us keep returning.
Love love love this place!

This restaurant is amazing. It never disappoints. We’ve been dining here for many years and we are always pleased!
The food was excellent as usual. We tried some different dishes this time, and all were delicious. Our grand daughter who had never been there before was very impressed.
This has some of the best authentic Italian food in the area, as good as my mother's.
For the first time we had to send food back. Service usually good was lacking.hopefully better next time.
The waiter was great, his boss talked to much and talked down on the waiter, we were on a date, we needed space to chat.
Loved it. The Exotic Bomba dessert was amazing!!!!
Fantastic food!! Can’t wait to return and bring the whole family.
I had a surprise party for my husband and I had a party of 15. It was seem less and perfect. The staff went out of their way to make it special and a true surprise. It was an evening with family and friends that I won’t forget any time soon.
Thanks LaCasa Pasta!!
