La Collina Restaurant
Located just off the Schuylkill Expressway in Belmont Hills, La Collina boasts spectacular hilltop views. The bar offers a unique atmosphere with live entertainment and dancing on weekends. This gem is known as one of the most romantic restaurants on the Main Line.
La Collina specializes in fresh seafood and veal dishes. Its signature dish, Dover Sole, is a delicate, tasty fish that is uniquely grilled, and served tableside. In addition to our Dover Sole, our daily fresh-fish specials include Branzino, Norwegian Salmon, Pompano, Orata, soft-shell crabs, Langostina, and other delights from the sea, depending upon availability. We are also known for our veal sirloin, veal porterhouse, ossobuco, and chops.

This was our first time to this restaurant. The food was outstanding.
Our special birthday celebration was wonderful in every way! La Collins was the perfect venue.
Went late and kitchen seemed to be closing so felt a bit rushed
Used to love this place but…I understand things are different now due to the pandemic but this whole evening really sucked, nothing like it used to be. We had a res but showed up early, we got seated (before 8pm on a Saturday night) and were rushed to order because the kitchen was closing…we thought, “gee good thing we showed up a half hour earlier then our planned reservation.” About 20 mins later after we rushed our order and the house lights were turned up (signaling everyone to eat up and go) another table showed up and casually ordered. Confusing…also confusing was the level of rudeness from the waitress. Every response was snarky. We literally could not stand her and when do you have that kind of reaction to a server! They are always nice. The food also was bad, clams casino tasted like they’d turned after sitting out all day, crab meat in the pasta was spongy and watery-appeared to be imitation. Folks at La Collins, if you’ve been at it too long and the zest for being in the restaurant business is gone, just close. Don’t go down like this. You’re better then that.
A great culinary experience - one of our favorite restaurants!
Service was really good. Food was decent. We sat outside and probably should have asked to be moved inside because there were so many spiders above us dropping to the floor and hanging or crawling above us. It was honestly the reason we did not stay for dessert.
An old favorite. Still great., Food is excellent. Friendly service.
Delicious food and wonderful waitresses and waiters!
While most of the wait staff were attentive the dining experience overall was disappointing
Plates and glasses were cracked and chipped
The clams casino were tasteless
We received only four slices of mozzarella while the table next to us received a whole bulb
My Dover sole was way over priced and it was not filleted in front of me which is part of the experience
Also way too many bones
The Jewish apple cake was dry and flavorless
We were so excited to enjoy a nice dinner and left not happy
Good food and good knowledgeable service equals a good time
Great food. Soft shell crab special is the best
This was amazing. The food was worth every bite.
We love La Collina and are so glad to be back in their dining room with its crisp white tablecloths, old-works service, and classically prepared Italian dishes. It felt like a homecoming, if anyone in my family could cook that well!
Our go to for birthdays and anniversaries. Great food and attentive staff
Great food and great service!!!
Food was good service good. Thought it was cheap to bring my girlfriend a mocktail (canned pineapple juice) when she said she didn’t drink and asked for water and then add $3.00 to our $400 bill for dinner for 4. Could have let that go.
Felt good to return to one of my favorites of the past 50 years when it was BAFFA'S. The
valet was immediately at the car door to assist my friend who has difficulty walking & had the car waiting when we finished! Everything we ordered was well prepared and served beautifully. Even with a full (and chatty) room we were asked several times if we needed anything.....and the desserts? WOW!!!! WELCOME BACK BAFFAS!!!
I had been hearing from close friends for years that this was a restaurant I would love. And at long last, my husband and I wanted to have dinner with a friend who loves Italian food (and was in Rome, Venice, Florence as a student). We chose La Collina, and the experience was memorable. Terrific food (Dover Sole for me, Veal for my husband, and pasta with clams and shrimp for our friend). Delicious food, expert server, just a perfect evening. We were not rushed and it felt like the restaurant experiences I have had often in Italy myself. We'll be returning often.
I've past LaCollina a thousand times driving on the Schuylkill Expressway and always wanted to dine here. I'm so glad I made a reservation to have dinner with my boyfriend. The service was fast and courteous. The food was delicious and well portioned (we took half of our main entrees home). And the ambiance was beautiful! We could look out to the city and not even hear the noise of the expressway. We shared the fried calamari which was nicely portioned and lightly battered. I put some on my insalada mista, which was a large portion. My boyfriend had the wedge salad and it had a nice amount of blue cheese dressing. He had the Penne alla Vodka which was delicious. I had the Shrimp Provencal which had about 5 shrimp and a lot of rice but it was tasty. My boyfriend loves apple cake, so it was a treat they had it! We'll go back because it was worth the trip!
Absolutely phenomenal experience — as it is everytime. La Collina is consistently wonderful. From the food to the service, everything is top notch. This is easily in our top 3 favorite restaurants. We even had our wedding here! It is our go to for date nights, special occasions, and dinner with family. Can’t wait to come again! Our meal, server, wine, service, desserts, and overall experience was fantastic.
Got our special table in the B room. Food was amazing as always!! Angelo and Antonio, the two best servers, made us feel like we were right at home the whole time.
Excellent food and excellent attentive service! Cannot wait to return!
We had dinner at La Collina at the start of our vacation in Philly and loved it so much that we ate there again on our last evening. The Dover sole is delicious, and they debone the fish at the table.Actually, all the meals we had are delicious and the service is exceptional. Thanks for the lovely experience, La Collina!
Not sure why this restaurant is so popular. Food is average and overpriced, wine list is average and overpriced. Best part of restaurant is the valet who amazingly shoehorns cars in to irregularly shaped parking lot
My husband and I came for our anniversary and were treated to the most delicious dinner and dessert we've had in a long time. We were seated in a cozy corner by the window, and right next to the live guitarist. It was perfect.
What a hidden gem! We were looking for a place to celebrate my daughters graduation and decided to go here. We were a party of 7 and from the onset the staff were very attentive but not hovering. We did appetizers for the table - eggplant rolotini, fried calamari and one other. All were excellent. The calamari was lightly breaded and cooked to a light golden perfection - not over done and chewy as so often is the case. There were a couple of salads ordered and the one that rated the best in the group was the Gorgonzola cheese one - out of this world. Everyone had a different entree and each was cooked perfectly. I had the Fra Diavlo with lobster and shrimp and there was.a perfect balance between the flavors and the heat. Often there’s so much spice it over powers the flavor of everything in the dish but not this one. One guest ordered the veal chop and it came out cooked to the proper temperature and was delicious. There were several deserts ordered and shared and the best was the peach sorbet that comes out INSIDE a hollowed out peach.
It was pretty busy when we arrived but the service flow from apps to salads to entree had a very nice rhythm to it. We didn’t wait long for drinks and they were very attentive for refills. Everything came out hot and together and we were never rushed.
It was an excellent overall experience. My only regret is we didn’t find this place 4 years ago when my daughter was a freshman.
Fantastic classis Philly Italian food in a local and very friendly upscale casual atmosphere
The food was delicious! It came out quickly & cooked perfectly! The service, which started out great, quickly went downhill. I had trouble getting my water filled, dirty dishes were left on our table & our server seemed more interested in chatting with another table than checking on us. I will give them another try in hopes that this was not the usual experience for the restaurant.
The food was absolutely outstanding! We had a party of 4, had mostly seafood and one veal dish. Each dish was better than the next! Will definitely return!!
Great location for a special occasion meal! Our graduation dinner was terrific!
We always enjoy dining at La Collina, food and service are always excellent. Unfortunately, the prices have risen to the point where we can only dine there for a very special occasion. The music at the bar was fun - it was great to hear live music again!
Love this Restaurant!
The food was good, nice ambiance and great service from Karmin.
Everything was excellent. Just excellent!
The food was amazing! I love that the restaurant was filled with Italian food lovers. The host & server were very helpful with recommendations. Amazing experience, we will definitely be back soon.
If you are looking for Good meal
