foraged kennett mushroom, parmesan crisps, dill
Drinks, meal, and service were great, as usual.
Our party of five dined outside. The service was good (our server seemed less experienced than their typical server, but given the recent reopening, it was perfectly fine) and the drinks were excellent. The food was truly spectacular. Their new chef, Dwayne Kalup, showed us his stuff. He is very talented and it shone through in every dish, particularly the charcuterie and the sausage—his specialties. We were fans at Domaine Hudson and will be back to La Fia soon to try more dishes!
Always loved this place and really wanted to support them through what's going on now. Enjoyed sitting outside and everyone sitting around us practiced respecting the other table diners. All the servers showed up with great attitudes and smiles behind their always on masks. And the food is world class.
It would be a real shame if Wilmington were to lose this gem.
Wonderful especially after not being able to dine out for so long. Lindsey was a terrific server and served each course timed perfectly. She made the evening even more special. Simply a perfect evening.
Great sitting outside. Food and service amazing.
Absolutely exquisite and a pleasant surprise. Our first time, but it won’t be our last.
Very quiet THR evening; waiter was very attentive and confirmed our wine selections and dinner selections. Dinners were excellent.
First return to La Fia since stay-at-home directive was issued.
Excellent food! Cheeseboard was great as always. Our entrees were both wonderful. Best meal we’ve had in a long time. We sat inside and were very comfortable. The bartender made a great dirty martini.
Food was delicious, and our server, Linsey, was really attentive, knowledgeable, and personable.
Dinner at La Fia was wonderful. We are outside to socially distance, and everything about the evening was great.
Timely and kind service, incredible Master Board as an appetizer, and creative and delicious entrees (roasted duck for myself and halibut for my dad).
We will definitely be coming back here again!
Really enjoyed our latest meal at La Fia. They made us feel very safe with their social distancing practices and their attention to detail with masks, gloves, etc...
The food was excellent, I had the duck and my wife had the spinach agnolotti with crab. The octopus and tuna crudo apps were delicious. Our server Lauren was perfect. She was attentive, knowledgeable and charming.
We've always loved La Fia. I'm so happy they've survived C19 and are still able to put out excellent food with great service.
La Fia has reopened with a menu that is even better than the spectacular menu they had before.
The grilled octopus is prepared differently, now paired with polenta, and it is even more delicately prepared. Always ranks amongst the best octopus we eat anywhere.
Tonight we had two pastas, the rye gnocchi and the spinach agnolotti. This is not an exaggeration, the rye gnocchi might very well be the greatest pasta dish I’ve ever had. Impossible to prepare the gnocchi better. The perfect light pillow that melts in you mouth. Adding the rye was such a delight. Paired with the bacon and cabbage it was almost like a deconstructed Rueben sandwich. The flavors were spectacular. An absolute 10!
Not to sell short the spinach agnolotti, it too was so delicately prepare. The best Italian restaurant could not do a better job.
Such an impressive welcome back meal.
You have to try again or for the first time if you’ve never been.
Desert was so great, a warm grilled zucchini cake with a sweet corn ice cream.
La Fia is an amazing restaurant, Wilmington is so lucky to have it on Market St.
Let’s all do our part to come back better than before and commit to a great return.
Anniversary dinner covid seating first time there. Mixed board, steak and seafood risotto. Everything was incredibly flavorful, cooked to order and fresh. Looking forward to visiting Crow Bar.
First meal out after being hunkered down for the past 3 months and La Fia didn't disappoint. I had the seafood risotto which was excellent. But my wife's rye gnocchi won the evening. Great food + Great service = Wonderful night out.
Awesome food. Fantastic service. Lamb ragu was one of the best things I’ve tasted in a loooong time.
Food was amazing. Service even better. Accommodated our large party of 9 with smiles and ease. Was awesome!
We had an excellent meal with great service. Menu is pricey but worth the splurge.
Food and service were great but it was noisy and older couple at bar making out made the main dining room a little bit too close for comfort.
As always, Le Fia was amazing. I had the short rib, which was delicious. I was on the fence because all the pasta was tempting as well. Great wine selection as well.
This restaurant never disappoints. The food is always creative and excellent. Service is professional, polite and willing to assist with selections. The dinner was made better by the fact we were in the back of the restaurant and therefore could hear each other easily as is not the case in the front dining room. I always enjoy myself at LaFia.
Waitress was very nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. She was prompt with the service and courteous
Started with the grilled octopus and beef tartare, both awesome. The squid was charred perfect and tender on the inside. Beef tartare flavors were all on point and well-balanced. Squid ink pasta with crab and shaved truffles was great, seafood gumbo was pretty good. Wine list was nice, beer list a little thin.
We were not told the specials but other tables were. They were judging us not telling us the specials due to our age!!!!
Squid Ink Pasta is a must!!!!!
This restaurant was a foodie's delight. Can't wait to return to try other items on the menu.
We had a great Valentines Day dinner and it reminded us why La Fia is one of our favorite restaurants. The fix price menu was varied. We both had the hanger steak and thought it was one of the best dishes we have had. La Fia is a first rate restaurant.
Our dinner was amazing. A bit turned off by the hostess/waitress's greeting but all went very well after that. Desserts are not to be missed.
I was pretty disappointed from dining at La Fia. We ordered the duck, short rib, bucatini pasta, cauliflower, and octopus and pretty much everything lacked complete flavor except for the bucatini. Would not recommend going back.
Always a great experience
Always reliable. The Curried Lentil Soup was great.
Four friends for lunch. Everyone thought it was delicious ( fries were a tad soggy). We will definitely return.
Staff is amazing (food too) :)
Yet again, such an enjoyable dining experience. Best salads in town. Fresh blackened salmon over a Greek salad. Tried the curried lentil soup and it was unbelievable! Margaritas are called “perfect” on the menu because they truly are. Great scene and service. No better option for a lunch in Wilmington. 👏🏼
Excellent food and service. Cocktails also very good.
Excellent dinner prior to a show at the Queen. Absolutely delicious, creative food. Waiter was very knowledgeable about which dishes to order, and generously gave us tastes of several wines before we decided which to order. Also, food came out promptly, which we appreciated as we had mentioned to the waiter that we had limited time to eat before our show across the street.
La fia is a small restaurant in downtown Wilmington DE. I found the food /service/decor to be excellent with a special nod to the high quality and complex food. I ordered:
Octopus: excellently prepared, tender, spiced
Duck: an interesting style with a thick bbq style ‘bark’. Immensely flavorful.
Tiramisu: well balanced, excellent cheese, strong espresso.
I highly recommend if in Wilmington.
This was my first time at this restaurant though I have been a Delaware resident for more than two decades.
Service was inattentive as it seemed like there was only one person serving probably 30 people but there actually were more people.
I ordered from the menu exactly as it is described without asking for anything special. They switched the type of sandwich roll without informing me; I am allergic to certain seeds and nuts. They were out of the bread listed on the menu and they just switched it. I asked the wait person and her answer was ‘we are out of that bread!’ Well that can happen. But what happened to asking me if they could substitute or not AND what were my options?
Well, they did have the options. I chose one. By the time the sandwich was brought back, it was soggy, and looked like it was just slapped together.
Is there really a point in going back to a popular restaurant that singles out someone for a bad treatment? I know I know... no one really did that... but that’s exactly how it felt.. and, there was no apology, and wait person attitude was like, “oh ok! I heard you!’
