Thoroughly enjoyed our girl friends get together. Easy restaurant to f8nd if coming into edinburgh. Only a very short walk from train down quiet street. Something on the menu for everyone. Open table booking system easy and great to have the reminders by text. Friendly waiting staff. Will go back soon
Lovely lunch, as always. We are regulars here, and love the place.
An excellent French bistro style restaurant with excellent and consistent service throughout. A classic menu with plenty of dishes that appealed. The portions were good and the food was excellent for all of our dishes. The fixed price menu offered reasonable value for lunch. Would definitely come back to try some of the other dishes.
As ever, tasty food, well-presented and nicely served.
Outstanding food....exceptional service....value for money
Always a favourite when in Edinburgh. Wonderful food and fabulous staff. Never disappoints.
Good food as always, very busy, festival time in Edinburgh. My son is dairy-free and they handled that well. A bit pricy, but worth it. Lovely French cheeses from Henri, Stockbridge. We'll be back 👍
I have been to this restaurant several times and was really looking forward to this visit. It did not disappoint and we had a wonderfully relaxed supper and really enjoyed the food and wine. An opportunity to see the paintings by Andrew Walker was the icing on the cake.
Been going to La Garrigue for many years it never disappoints. Thank you to Morgan and his team.
I've often thought of visiting La Garrigue which has a good name and the opportunity presented itself with friends visiting the Festival and with a show to go to near Chambers Street in the afternoon. Everyone was favourably impressed by the cocktails, the food, the wine and the knowledgable service. Would certainly return.
Had a lovely lunch with friends. First visit - will go again.
I have been to La Garrigue on many occasions for the past twenty years and have never been disappointed.
Authentic french restsurant. Top-notch quality on all behalfs. Hugely recommended!
This was our first time at this restaurant and it exceeded all expectations. The service was excellent from the initial advice on the food and wine, throughout the meal, until leaving. Although not a huge menu, the range and the quality of the food was extremely good. The whole ambience of the restaurant was very good - relaxed, friendly and comfortable. We were also very impressed with the price which was surprisingly reasonable for what we received. We will certainly go back, and indeed, make this place a regular haunt.
Took friends from Dundee - they loved it! Back again on Friday with another group of friends. Really enjoyable lunch, great value, good food. House wine lovely and staff fab!
We have eaten at La Garrigue many times now and the food and service is excellent. Our friend is gluten intolerant and they were very knowledgable about it and had a good selection of gluten free food. The restaurant is situated very centrally so makes it good for tourists.
Absolutely fantastic food, superb service and a lovely wine list. Very authentic! We’lll be back when we’re next in Edinburgh.
Friendly, helpful staff. A limited, but excellent menu. The staff are very knowledgeable about the food and wine of the French region that the restaurant specialises in - Languedoc. Lovely laid back ambiance, no steps, well lit and quiet so perfect for older guests too.
Very interesting and tasty food. Excellent and friendly service.
In our five days in Edinburgh, our dinner at La Garrigue was the best meal we had - by far. The food was obviously conceived and prepared with great care. It was delicious. Our servers were attentive and accommodating. The wine list is relatively short but contains a nice selection of wines from the proprietor’s native Languedoc region. The ambiance is relaxed and reminiscent of the south of France.
Excellent French bistro cuisine. We dined there on two consecutive evenings. Duck breast was perfect. Duck fat potatoes outstanding. Good wines by the glass at a reasonable price.
Great food great service great everything. A hidden gem.
I thought restaurants like this no longer existed. Regional French food, beautiful choice of dishes, imaginative list of wines, chic but also unpretentious, with service that was friendly and unobtrusive. Five of us went fora family birthday and every course was perfect. I cannot praise it enough.
It was a great evening with delicious food, excellent wines and brilliant company. We were very well looked after and it was a memorable occasion.
Lovely authentic FRENCH bistro. Good food in nice atmospheee with excellent service.
Excellent venue for a special occasion lunch. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we didn't feel rushed.
Every visit the food and service is fantastic, one of my favourites
The food was fantastic, the servers were wonderful, the wine and cocktails were outstanding, the ambience was super cost and romantic.
Nice restaurant, but expensive for what you got. Small portions, the quality of which should have been better to justify the price.
Fantastic food, friendly, excellent value. Highly recommend.
Gedood experience, Nice staf, friendly and helpfull
Food & wine was excellent & service attentive but not intrusive. A very enjoyable evening
La Garrigue never fails to deliver.... Friendly, attentive, creative dishes.
We were happy with service and food was good, however I felt a bit pricier than what expected for the quality we got. While we made a reservation in advance, we were given the table all the way at the back of the restaurant. Tables upfront have more natural light and would probably gave us a more enjoyable experience. Overall it was for be, but not something to rave about
Brilliant French cuisine for both lunch and dinner. I,m always concerned about the loss of French restaurants and the continuing rise of pasta houses. This restaurant enables me to enjoy regional cooking reinforced by many visits to the Languedoc.
We've been regulars here for many years now, and no matter what may come and go in the Edinburgh dining scene, La Garrique remains our favourite. It's always had high standards but with a natural evolution they've found a way to keep refining what they do. Nothing jars, the service is always friendly, informal and efficient but the food always remains the star.
We've had a wonderful family time at La Garrigue with exceptional attenion from the the very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food was exceptional too and beautifully presentend. It's a perfect cosy place just off buzzy tourists' routes. Thank you Jean MIchael!
My friend and I enjoyed a nice quiet lunch. Initially disappointed that the pork was not available but our other choices, chicken and fish were excellent. The half carafe of wine was a good idea. Good service, not intrusive. Nice rustic decor and although it was busy plenty space between tables. I would eat here again.
Whenever I am in Edinburgh for lunch this is one of my favourite places. Only a short walk from Waverley Rail Station but dining there takes me miles( or should I say, kilometres) away to the Languedoc region of France with its authentic French cuisine , wines and ambience.
