Considering it was extremely busy due to being Fireworks Night, the service, food and staff were amazing..as usual :)
Pleasantly surprised by Isla Bonita. The food was excellent, the service was great, and it was a really fun evening. Not one for a romantic first date - the emphasis is on party atmosphere and bright cocktails.
The food is surprisingly good - very fresh and huge servings. Everyone had a great night, and we all have some good photos with sombreros!
Funky Mexican/Latin restaurant. Good food big portions. Good value for money. Great for after work dinner/drinks for groups or couples.
Food and cocktails were excellent
My experience in this restaurant wasn't that good. First of all the deals they hava for group, like sharing plates, is good but you can only ask for one time. If you ask for another sharing plate they would no because is to much work for thw chefs. The food is not the best and the customer needs to get improved. They look like they doing us a favor. We didn't feel comfortable.
I have one advice for the drinks: don't order sangria. it tastes nothing.
Excellent service, fun and friendly atmosphere and terrific value!!
Finally tried this neighbourhood spot and was pleasantly surprised. The cocktails were made with care and yummy. I'm not sure how 'authentic' any of it is (from cocktails to decor to menu), but it's fun in a crazy-kitchy kind of way. I found the appetizers a bit 'hit and miss' but the fajitas were fresh and tasty. The place was a little empty on a Thursday evening but (perhaps as a result) the service was great. I will have the steak fajitas again at some point in the near future.
A great evening all round
This wasn't my first visit to the restaurant and the last time I came everything went smoothly so I'm guessing they were just having a very bad night and were short staffed.
It wouldn't put me off going again but I would hesitate to recommend it until I've seen them operate with a full team.
Sadly on the night it took us 25 minutes to get our 1st round of drinks and this meant we were served the starters before the drinks arrived.
The food was plentiful and tasty so no complaints there but I'm hoping they can resolve their staff issues. One diner was very rude to the waiter which I really didn't feel he deserved. It wasn't his fault they were down some key team members.
The service was very good , they deliberately turned down the music as requested and the waitress was attentive but not intrusive. The food was average but the portion was big
Fantastic place that is very reasonably priced. Have had a few great evenings here full of good food, drink and surroundings. Great for a big group!
The place was easy to find, though parking in the streets around it is limited amongst the 'Chelsea Tractors' that sit for the majority of their lives unmoving. Inside the place has been done out in burlesque meets latina judging by the unusual pictures on some of the walls. It was not very warm in the restaurant, though to give them their due they did turn up the heat when asked [Though seeing customers still wearing their coats must have been a hint?]. Starters (calamari and a barbecued corn and avocado salad) were good. The lamb steak had been asked for 'well done' but was on the edge of too well, and the medium rare steak was heading for medium. My wife thought her meal flavoursome if overdone and mine was full of flavour, with decent accompaniments. The sweet potato chips were particularly tasty. We did not have desserts but did have non-alcoholic cocktails that were very good. Nice to see (at last) some interesting non-alcoholic drinks! The two courses and cocktails came to £50 and a few pence, which did not seem too bad.
The waiters were too busy with the large groups that were booked that evening and didn't get any attention from them at all.
The food was great and the portions were good. However, I wasn't overly thrilled with the ambience. But the staff was very helpful and made up for the rest.
Fun restaurant with good atmosphere but needs a bit of a revamp to modernise it. The food was quite stodgy. Big portions but not great quality. Overall a good night out if you're going in a Group
Was a little confused to start as this used to be Margarita Loca and still has the same web address... It wasn't great before (kind of greasy Mexican food) but both starters and both mains were fresh and delicious. They have also sorted out the decor - still purposely kitsch but just feels a little more luxurious.
We were well looked after - food & drinks were good.
Food was good and service was pleasant; good value for money.
Great food and cocktails, friendly staff, good value and ... sombreros! What more can you ask for?!
The food was great, very tasty and packed with flavour. We went for my husband's birthday and had a really good time, the mexican theme made a really cool vibe to the evening. However the food did take a long time to arrive if we hadn't ordered starters we would have been starving, the restaurant was 40% full so not sure why it took too long. But overall it was a good night.
met a friend there for a Friday night dinner and it was great. we had a cocktail, starters and mains and it was just over £20 each. Really fab value with the deal. The staff were great. Service was a little slow but it was very busy. Great ambience as well. Would fully recommend.
The wait staff was really attentive and made the experience. The food actually was a bit worse since renaming the restaurant - a bit bland, seemed like cole slaw and nachos came straight from a packet and margarita pitcher barely had any alcohol. Really liked the potato skins.
Great food and beautiful decorate... have a high quality food and the tea is wonderful!!! I Will recomend
