La Mela is my favorite restaurant in Little Italy..maybe NYC, I go there as often as I can,
with friends in from out of town, first stop, but most importantly with my best friends and family on my Birthday EVERY YEAR!....A place I cherish.
Arrived and
La Mela is an incredible spot for delicious, not pretentious, food served family style. Even with Covid, they have retained the amazing service and quality. Extremely accommodating and my favorite place for over 20 years. Flew in from Nashville on a Sunday night and they crushed it!
Always amazing. Never a let down. They are like family and served us even earlier than our reservation because we overestimated our arrival.
I love La Mela and have been visiting since 1994. This was my first trip back to The Great City / President Trump birthplace since October 2019, and spent a few dollars at my favorite eatery, with a good friend who enjoys visiting city with me.
Food always great. Hoping and praying for better days for NYC.
La Mela is the best Italian food in the city!!! Great prices for an amazing portion of food, and the service is 10/10- great people.
Wonderful food, amazing service. The outdoor dining was clean, but not the fanciest on the street – didn't bother me, but is worth noting for others. Very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating staff.
Wonderful food, great service and lots of leftovers!
Great Service. Get out and keep these businesses around.
If your looking for authentic Italian this is the place for you. My personal recommendation is the chicken piccata. You can cut through the chicken with your fork it’s so tender!!
La Mela never disappoints. Loved being outside on such a great evening for dinner.
My friend and I had a wonderful experience at La Mela. We go each year for the San Gennaro festival and since it’s cancelled this year, we still had to continue the tradition. The service and food was, as always wonderful. We had the family style meals with the 3 dish option. Just a great time supporting the local community.
Would absolutely recommend to eat there! I wish I lived closer! Everyone enjoyed their food and there was enough to take home! I will definitely be back!
Absolutely splendid! Their outdoor seating section is adorable, the staff is very friendly, and you get a great meal. Definitely recommend!
The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly and helpful with the surprise birthday dinner I planned with my friends. They were very understanding when we arrived late and they took great care of us.
La Mela was a good experience. The food was really good. The desserts not so much. We tried the Tiramisu and cheese cake but both were bad. Tiramisu was super sweet and the cheese cake tasted like freezer burn and was very hard. Because it was outdoor dining and it was very hot out that day, I believe this contributed to 2 bugs getting into my glass of wine twice. Our waiter changed the glass of wine so that was great! Other than that, it was a good time. I would eat here again. Just won't get dessert here : )
Lovely pandemic outdoor dining experience.
Great food and great service. Outdoor dining abides by social distancing, they don’t pack you in like other places.
I just love this place. Have gone here for 20 years every time I’m in Manhattan. They never fail on the good food and the excellent service!
I would have tipped more than 20%, but I understand why they make it “tourism friendly” by adding the tip to the bill.
Pretty touristy and inauthentic Italian in Little Italy.
Great Italian food on Mulberry street. Loved the veal and the service
I have enjoyed this restaurant for many years. Always a go to place when I’m in the city. Have brought lots of people here and recommended to others when they are going to the city. Family style is the way to go so you can sample all of their delicious dishes.
Food and wine were great! Always have a good time at LaMela's!!
Ade was amazing. He was perfect with timing and accommodating our needs.. not to mention adorable. This is our favorite place to come when visiting the city, it never disappoints!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the food but I HATE HATE HATE when it's someone's birthday (which is all the time) and they literally THROW a METAL plate on the floor. It's obnoxious!!! I stopped going to another favorite place because it's did I say obnoxious?
I also don't get why everyone is so drunk there? Trust me, I buy the double bottle of wine and do a good job of finishing it off w/my bf but people just get stupid there...
There was some confusion with the seating at the beginning but once seated all went well. Food was fantastic and so was our waiter.
We have eaten at several of the restaurants in Little Italy when we visit NYC. None of them really blew us away, and then we found La Mela. On the outside, it doesn't look like much, but the ambiance and the food is incredible! There was a guitarist walking from table to table singing the Italian Classics which really made the experience feel like we weren't eating in a typical Italian restaurant. We loved it! My son ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs and they were HUGE! He loved every bite and quickly claimed that he wanted to come back again and again. I had the Chicken Parmesan and it was divine. I highly recommend La Mela and we will definitely be back to visit!
It was a perfect valentines day dinner! Looking forward to going back next time we are in Manhattan.
Went here for Valentine’s Day. The food was delicious! I recommend the eggplant parm and calamari. So good!
This was our second time at La Mela and it did not disappoint. It is quickly becoming one of our favorite places for date night. We came for Valentine’s Day and everything was superb. The food, the service. All of it. We did the mystery bottle of wine and it was a great deal! We will be back again and again and again!
Everything was amazing. The service and the food. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Everything was cold. I have been going here since 1990 and take a lot if people here. Seems the hot appetizers don’t taste as good as they use to, the bread is different, and the tomatoes were not ripe. Need to make sure at least the pasta is hot when they bring it out.
Great food. Never disappointed. Staff is attentive.
Love La Mela! Have been coming here for over 20 years. Recently went to another Italian restaurant uptown last time in NYC and we were so disappointed that we had to come back to La Mela this time when we were visiting the city. The food never disappoints, very authentic and delicious. The service is always very good as well. We highly recommend La Mela restaurant to anyone visiting the NYC Little Italy area.
Great experience! Food excellent and environment very nice. Party of 15 and very accommodating and efficient!
Fabulous food, service, atmosphere and value, as always!!
food very good but service indifferent and they apply 20% service charge so you cannot make your displeasure clear in tip. i would not bother going back which is a shame bc the food is indeed very good. unfortunate example of why/how Little Italy died.
It was absolutely phenomenal as we heard it would be. Waiters were attentive and the food was awesome. The only thing is there is an automatic 20% gratuity which is fine with me except we bought two T-shirts and they put the gratuity on those also. That’s pretty bad form. Ha!
Birthday dinner for 2. Seated in large noisy room even after I said it was to loud. People next to us got up and left due to noise level . Poor service and food just OK. Guess that’s why 20% gratuity already added to bill. Might be good for large parties but for 2 looking for ambience go somewhere else
Always love La Mela
