We have been in Princeton for over 15 years and our food is adored by both locals and tourists alike. Our menu changes seasonally and we offer special dishes during major holidays.
Risotto cooked in a pesto sauce with jumbo shrimp, bay scallops, calamari & mussels
Romaine tossed in a homemade Caesar dressing, topped with fresh croutons
Calamari Fritti for Mr. Rogers
Shallow-fried calamari served with a touch of balsamic glaze & marinara sauce
The waiter was great, but the food was mediocre for the price paid. The food was lukewarm by the time it had reached the table and was cold by the time I finished the dish. The dishes felt like they were frozen dishes reheated for use in the restaurant; it’s not homemade (in-house made) Italian food. Not worth the time if you value quality Italian.
Service was slow but resturant was quite busy with outdoor guests.
William is a rockstar, ensured everything was to our complete satisfaction.
Great moderately priced Italian food. BYOB, great wine/beer/liquor store next door. Specials range but often focus on risotto, one of their specialties.
Overall very very good. Took our daughter and her boyfriend to dinner. Portions were a little small for the hungry kids but fine for us. Vodka rigatoni was wonderful- amazing sauce and perfectly done pasta. Chicken with vegetables great for kosher eater.
The staff was extremely friendly and charismatic! The food was absolutely delicious!
I had never been to Princeton, so I was excited to have a nice Italian dinner. The food was good, when it came. It took an exceedingly long time to be served. 20 minutes for our order to be taken, and then 35 for appetizers (clams casino and octopus) to come out. I would not return, because the service was so slow. Nice though, if you don't mind waiting, and compliant with Covid protocols.
Andre provided excellent service. Outside dining was very enjoyable.
They were very good about being late for our reservation. The service was great! I would have like a little less lights. It was a bit bright for me. The noise was fine. The food was good except I added chicken to my pasta and it was tough and seemed over cooked. Other than that everything was good.
My favorite restaurant in Princeton and one of my favorite italian restaurants in NJ.
Food was very good as usual. Service was exceptional. Our waiter Samod and the bus staff were very attentive and polite! I will definitely go back.
Excellent food and excellent service. Lobster ravioli and chicken & shrimp marsala entrees were both outstanding, and the balsamic glaze on the calamari fritti was an unusual, but excellent, appetizer.
Always a wonderful dinner out at Mezzaluna. Service is always attentive and the menu has many options that are appealing. Have gone several times during quarantine and feel safe dining in given the distance between other patrons.
The food was great and the service staff were friendly and attentive. I will definitely go back!
Delicious food, good service, nice quiet place in the center of town. Very recommended.
The staff at Mezzaluna was kind, friendly and helpful! They made our dining experience so pleasant with their courteous service. The food was tasty and the staff did their best to accommodate all of our requests. They also threw in a free birthday dessert. Lastly, the ability to donate food to families in need is a wonderful service being provided by this establishment.
The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. The calamari appetizer was perfect. The warm braised duck salad was tasty as well. My son enjoyed the Linguini Marechiaro. My husband had the Monk Fish and Crab Meat Risotto. I really enjoyed the Chicken al Vino Bianco. We will definitely be back.
One of our favorite restaurants in the area. Food and service remain outstanding even in these difficult times.
This is our third or fourth time here and every time the food has been exceptional. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely continue to return here!
Very good service, great menu, and really good food.
Service was excellent and attentive.
Caesar Salad not great. Lettuce leaves all deep green and not tasty. Dressy too creamy.
New Years Eve Dinner
New Years Eve
Always an amazing experience.
Food was excellent. Pretty crowded for current limitations.
There was a little delay in getting seated, but I think that’s to be expected. Had a nice booth, enjoyed the pumpkin ravioli appetizer. My wife and daughter split the osso buco. I had the chicken parm. They were both delicious!
Great night-delicious food and wonderful wait staff. Fun night celebrating my husband’s birthday
Excellent food and service! Chicken Marsala was perfect as were the arancini.
My first time back to Mezzaluna in years and I had a great experience even with post-covid protocol. My boyfriend and I reserved for 7:30 and waited about 10 minutes for them to clear the table for us, not complaining as they were very thorough with their cleaning! We sat at the table for two by the big window where everyone could see from outside but it was okay because we were the table furthest from the rest of the people sitting in the back of the restaurant (the main seating area seemed pretty packed almost at full capacity). The food was amazing and the service was good. Though I wish the waiter would’ve tried to keep his mask from moving so much haha. Will be back again though! Great for dates.
Great experience! Felt so safe and so warm and cozy under heaters. Food was incredible
Great food and service!! Love this place..... owners are amazing
While the food and service were good, there was a very loud and disrespectful party in the restaurant at the same time as us. They were getting out of their chairs without wearing masks, loudly shouting profanity and inappropriate language, and being overall disrespectful to the other guests of the restaurant. This severely ruined our dining experience and we were very upset. The restaurant staff did nothing to stop this group from behaving like they were in a sports bar, not a nice restaurant. In not wanting to add to the madness happening in the restaurant, my guest and I did our best to pretend that this inconsiderate group was not there. However, in situations like this, a restaurant staff should know better to ask a boisterous group such as the one we encountered to please behave appropriately or to leave. Because they did not, I was very disappointed in the overall experience we had at this restaurant.
Excellent food and service. From start to finish, our experience was perfect. Highly recommend.
The food was exceptional and the service was great!
What a great night we had!!! The food/service were fantastic!!
Service is consistently slow. I have been there twice and there are no enough servers and they try to give their best but i dont see any improvement. Last time we went we waited 15 additional minutes after the reservation scheduled time for a table so I really question if they follow any reservation plan... the food is fair for the price charged but in the last 2 times I went there I had intestinal issues after eating their food...
Americanized Italian recipes. Covering the clean and pure flavor profile of pretty good raw materials.
We were seated and for about 15 mins we did not get any service. Once we ordered, the food took more than 25-30 mins and they messed up my order even though he asked came and confirmed my order a couple times after we ordered. I would give the risotto 4/10. Will not be coming back
even better than always! excellent food and good price
