The food is always just terrifically delicious. The service is unobtrusively efficient. The ambiance is very pleasant — no music, only one short outburst of loud, raucous talk and laughter among other patrons of the restaurant.
Loved it. It is like the restaurants I went to as a child in NYC.. very old NYC..
GREAT! My favorite
This is a great restaurant in which to have a quiet conversation. The service is wonderful. The wines are excellent. The food is not as good as it used to be. The coquilles St. Jacques were drowned in cheese. This works for onion soup but not for seafood. Cheese should never be combined with seafood.
Excellent dining experience. I want to go back and hear Danielle sing more.
On Saturday, September 7, 2019, my wife and I had dinner there. It was excellent. The server was very good. The food was excellent. I had asparagus. My wife had the Portobello Mushrooms. We had Bouillabaisse. It came with a whole lobster. It was very rich. The portion was very big. We had a lemon tarte. It was very big. Next time, we will get the fish.
Always friendly -- I particularly recommend the excellent soft shell crabs which, I believe are usually available from around Memorial Day until September
La Mirabelle is our favorite go to restaurant for celebrations, meeting with friends, and whenever we want to feel nurtured and welcomed. Natalie and Luic carry on the traditions beautifully.
La Mirabelle is a cozy, friendly throwback to the many unassuming French cafes that once dotted Manhattan. Don’t come here if you’re looking for Lutece. Mirabelle is known for courteous service, solid French menu, good wine and cocktails. Lace curtains. Oil paintings on the walls plus photos of celebrities d’un certain age. A favorite neighborhood spot that offers a warm welcome to all.
Lovely as always.
Great dinner on Friday night at La Mirabelle to celebrate my good friends’ 30th wedding anniversary. Very authentic old-school French Bistro Fare. Will definitely visit again.
Lovely evening for two elderly ladies. A welcoming atmosphere and attentive but not intrusive service. Good food.
First-rate neighborhood French restaurant owned by French family.
Everybody loves La Mirabelle!
Overall excellent. We Google quiet restaurants on Westside for some strange reason on a Monday night in the middle of the summer it was packed. Delighted for them but a little noisier than we wanted.
Wonderful UWS gem!
We go to La Mirabelle four or five times a year with friends, and we are always pleased.
The duck is crisp and cooked perfectly. The seafood is awesome, and the medallions
of tenderloin that we had on Thursday night, were perfect. This in the closest thing
to a Paris bistro in New York City,
Mirabelle stars as a pleasant neighborhood restaurant. The food is always dependable and service so nice. How wonderful to have it around the corner!
A slow, quiet, private dining experience in public with excellent French bistro fare.
Vive La Mirabelle!
We went with friends and were not disappointed. Danielle is the ultimate hostess - she does it all! Serving, Singing and socializing with the guests.
We enjoyed the food. The duck could have been crispier.
Looking forward to celebrating Bastille Day next year.
La Mirabelle is a lovely French restaurant with absolutely delicious food. The interior is beautiful and welcoming, the menu offers a wonderful variety, the wine list is excellent and the service attentive without being intrusive.
It's a nice neighborhood restaurant. Seems like most patrons are regular diners. The food was nice but I feel there are better French restaurants out there...I had the chicken liver with shallots and vinegar. I was disappointed too much vinegar. I also had the veal with sweetbreadcrumbs and capers it was nice the veal was super tender. My husband had the sole and he enjoyed it. The service was nice and attentive. This was my experience.
All that is missing is sparkling French wine by the glass.
This very old standby...I've been dining there for over fifty years...is great for a pleasant, quiet get together with friends. The service is outstanding. My friend returned a full glass of wine because she just didn't like it and decided that she simply didn't want wine. NP. It may be time to lighten up the very traditional grand mere/bistro cooking just a tad. I still want liver and crepes and creme brulee but maybe less buttery sauces etc.
First time diner - very much what I expected. Classic French with low key family atmosphere. I mentioned that we would be on a leisurely pace and the service knew exactly what to do - never intrusive. Waitress sang a beautiful French song for another party at the end of the evening.
Wonderful food and service. A local treasure.
The service was attentive and genuine. The food preparation was exquisite and cooked to perfection. They have quite the wine list that offers great choices with any of the entrees on the menu. If you are looking for French dining that is easier on the pocketbook, this is one of the places to consider.
Food was excellent. Service was attentive but not overwhelming. We will go back!
IT WAS OUTSTANDING IN EVERY RESPECT...I HAD ESCARGOTS AND COQUILLE ST, JACQUES
BOTH DISHES WERE PERFECT.....
When you can't get to France, this restaurant will take you there. The menu is authentic and traditional. You won't find some entrées in many NY "French" restaurants. Dishes are well-prepared and beautifully presented. Linger and savor!
This is a great neighbourhood place. The owners know us as do the wait staff. Our drink orders arrive without having to ask for them. That kind of thing. Most importantly, the food is homey and very good. Order the bouillabaisse when making the rez. It is delicious. It's a very chill place and a favourite of ours for dinner on Fridays. All the staff there are delightful. Service can be a bit slow every now and then but that isn't routine. Go and enjoy yourselves!
Great food, lovely atmosphere, excellent service. Good selection of wines. Good location for a special dinner.
Spectacular! The service, and the quality, uniqueness, and quantity of food were the best I’ve experienced in NYC in months. We had a unrushed meal and the tables are far enough apart that you could easily converse and hear. The escargot rivaled what were served in France. The asparagus, salmon, cod and halibut were all very good. Don’t forget to have the crepes for dessert. Love this place.
Extraordinario lugar. La comida deliciosa, la atención de primera. Precio moderado para ser restaurante francés y en Nueva York.
Authentic french cuisine, graciously served. Neighborhood gem. Danielle the artist, singer, and server was excellent.
I’m new to the neighborhood and have been trying various restaurants. Le Mirabelle is my favorite. It’s a treasure box of goodness. And will be my first choice for excellent dining in the most charming atmosphere. Brava to Krystelle for looking after so beautifully.
Service was truly outstanding. No tomato juice for Bloody Mary so someone went to a store and bought some! And it was great! Everyone loved their dinners ... to start: oysters, vichyoisse, escargots ...
Main: Grilled fish, duck with plum sauce, and the BEST soft shell crabs! Even the sides - french fries,
stringbeans and carrots were delish! Dessert: Peach Melba, créme brulee ... wonderful! Can't wait to go back.
I have been a patron of La Mirabelle for many years. It is ALWAYS outstanding, and never disappointing. I've tried may dishes but have my favorites. I hope it lasts forever!
Good place. Good food. Good ambiance. It serves a purpose for two friends getting together and catching up. I would go there again if in the neighborhood but would not make a trip. Nothing special or spectacular. Has a “dated” feel even though that is probably part of the charm.
Soft Shell crabs were outstanding! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
La Mirabelle is the best place in the city to celebrate Bastille Day. Maybe the best place out side of Paris!
The food, as always is great & reasonable priced. They offer interesting, but authentic French options. For example, a fennel salad was outrageous . But the high point of the evening is when the servers start up with La Marseille -- and everybody in the restaurant joins in. Bon Temp!
