Excellent service. Very good food. The noisy coffee machine next to our table was the only negative. Great location for the Kings. Would definitely go back.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Staff were friendly, but seemed unused to handling a full house, as it was busy. Was left waiting a lot as a result. Great experience apart from that.

If I could have designed a menu, this would have been it. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and efficient, with good attention to detail. A nice Valentines meal.

We went to the restaurant for a pre-theatre meal on Valentine’s Day. Obviously the restaurant was very busy even though we were eating early. We ate from the special Valentines Day set menu which included a gin cocktail and was very good value. There was a good choice of starters, main courses and desserts. The food was well prepared and presented. Despite the number of diners the service was prompt and very friendly. We enjoyed a very good meal and certainly plan to return.

I have eaten at La Petite Mort a number of times and have never been disappointed in any aspect. The food is original, interesting and delicious, and despite the fact that there is not an extensive choice, there is always something that piques my interest. Friendly and knowledgeable service. My only comment would be that the wine list might benefit from a couple of less expensive options. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants.

Very good pre-theatre menu, with excellent choices. Staff managed the restaurant efficiently and their recommendations on wine proved perfect. Despite the restaurant being fairly full, the noise level was fine. Food quality was excellent and portions just right.
Great choice of venue.

Great starter and main. Dessert a little disappointing but what made it special was the service! Waiter had an encyclopedic knowledge of whiskies and had a great sense of humour.

It was an enjoyable meal due to the company. The food was nice enough but we were the only table occupied for the 2.5hrs we were there. It used to be so popular, I wondered if I had missed something. Two in the group had gin fizz cocktails which were pleasant. The bar hadn’t been stocked up so there were some cocktails unavailable.

The food is quite good here but the service is rushed. We found that the waitress was going backwards and forwards between the restaurant and adjoining bar, which has its entrance in a different street. We felt that we were being managed through at speed and these wasn't much ambience or the opportunity to relax. The wine list is well-priced.

Arrived just before reservation time to find the restaurant was closed - but all the lights were on. Phoned but got no answer.
A chef appeared at a side door and said the restaurant was closed for a week while he cleaned the kitchen! He offered no apology, no solution and claimed I couldn't have booked as the system wouldn't work with the restaurant closed - which is completely wrong.

My party and I booked a pre-theatre dinner and, given the distance to home, didn't have time to go there and get back to the theatre. We had to wander around looking for somewhere else.

Not only did I received a pre-dinner date confirmation two days before, I also received two post-date emails - this one and a "thank you for dining with us" email! Really!!

Not only will I never book that venue again, I will also steer clear of "Open Table" since it is clearly so unreliable.

The meal was good but it did not have the wow factor I have experienced in previous visits. This may be because it was a fixed menu. It was excellent value for money but I did miss the wow factor.

We used to drink here when it was the Green Room. It didn't look much different but not a bad thing being in familiar surroundings. We had the set lunch menu which gave a good choice of 3 dishes for each course. The portions were ideal for lunchtime eating and the food was very good. One minor down side for us on the day we visited was that it was a bit cold in the area we were sitting.

Fantastic food - Both courses, 4 in total, we loved although, an adult portion would have been preferred. To charge £24,95 for 2 courses, Christmas Menu!!, though only £14.95 at lunch time, is a little rich! My salmon main, on crushed potatoes with a mussel broth was ab - so lut - ly delicious but a cut of salmon measuring around 5 cm in length was pitiful for the charge being made!

Good venue for pre-theatre - just around the corner from the King's Theatre. Even better once the staff had changed the inappropriate rock music that was initially causing noise pollution.

Food was excellent quality with attentive service. Great value for the quality of food. I would definitely recommend and return.

One thing to consider, to keep the standards up you need to think about improvements to the toilets - understand it is servicing a bar also however they are also attached to restaurant and may put people off.
