Barista coffee is served throughout the day at La Raza, with a fine lunch menu including gourmet sandwiches as well as tapas available from midday. In the evening La Raza’s varied tapas menu, inspired by the flavours of the Mediterranean, is served alongside a variety of cocktails, beers and fine wines. As well known for its music as it is for its food, La Raza is home to live bands most wednesdays, thursday and fridays while additional sounds come courtesy of skilled DJs that keep the party alive.

Good meal, it took a while for the food to arrive but there was only one chef in the kitchen due to illness. Some dishes were better value for money than others (little to eat on the sardines, paellas were very good, as were goats cheese and mussels)
Had a very relaxing lunch, food was good and service excellent. Nice atmosphere.
Excellent - we started with two tapas dishes, and the mussels especially were fabulous. The hot potatoes with garlic mayo, and the pork tapas were also v good, and the paella, though too much for us, also good. Excellent wine and friendly, efficient but not in your face service set it all off. Definitely returning.
Excellent food, friendly staff, great cocktails. Can't wait for Christmas do there!!
Lovely birthday meal with the family ( lots of adult children) , fab food and cocktails. Friendly relaxed service.
The food was absolutely amazing. It was without a doubt as good as a restaurant in Spain. The only thing that let it down was some of the furniture inside had seen better days (ripped leather chairs). I'd recommend and return.
Food was amazing, all very very tasty. Great tapas. Missed out slightly on 5 stars as the wine we got was not dry as described on the wine list.
excellent food and drink, lovely service, the atmosphere is very welcoming and warm. only criticism is that the bathrooms need a serious clean.
Superb lunch, with delicious tapas. Very friendly and attentive staff. I would definitely recommend La Raza to others looking for a great venue in Cambridge
We thought the mains would come in large portion, but they turned out to be of the same size as the tapas. The food tasted good, particularly considering the weather, when some restaurants could not keep their seafood fresh. Nonetheless, it might not be a good idea for those who could stand spicy or salty flavour.
We had a lovely tapas lunch plus Paella - all very nice. Good cocktails too.
Good for a girls night out drinking but not exceptional food. We opted for nibbles and food for sharing with cold meats etc. Music and dancing add to the party atmosphere.
I can say, without hesitation, that this is possibly the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The music was overbearingly loud, the service was poor but most of all, the food was absolutely appalling. All seafood was off the menu (at 7.30pm on Valentine's day!), a choice of only one pudding and as for the so-called paella - some over-cooked mushy rice, a few peas sprinkled on top, a few pieces of insipid boiled chicken and a few slices of chorizo. Really, do not go there!
Corked wine and they gave our food to another table. We had to leave b/c we came with our 3 year old daughter and she was about to lose it from being hungry. I'm sure the food would have been fine if we actually got to try it.
It is defiantly not a place to eat! The quality of food was really average and overly priced! For example a meatball tapas costed £8 and they brought a big bowl with only 4 small meatballs and very dry and burnt souce! But it has live music so not a bad place for a drink in the evening.
We went there for a meal for my sister's Hen weekend. It was lovely and cosy, great atmosphere! The food was great, big portions of paella. The drinks were a little pricey but once it was happy hour it was fab!! Definitely would go there again, and would recommend it!
Fantastic food, especially impressed by the mussels in white wine and the chorizo. Two of us spent £11 each on food, that was half price with a tastecard, then bought some pricey but nice cocktails to go with the meal as the place doubles up as a cocktail bar. Portions are much bigger than you would expect for tapas, meaning good value, certainly didn't need all the food we ended up having. Wide ranging menu, friendly staff, nice area.
This place has great food (good portions too) and friendly staff. It is not a great place to have a nice meal and good conversation though - the music is just too loud and you find yourself having to speak rather loudly. Would be a good place to go for a drink on a Friday or Saturday night though.
First time at La Raza, had heard great reviews but wasn't too sure what to expect. The tapas was very yummy and the service friendly. My mate and I decided we weren't going to be drinking, and without prompting the waitress suggested non-alcoholic cocktails. Slight negative for me personally was the noise level (background music + surrounding chatter) which was starting to give me a headache, but this was probably down to where we were sitting. I'm definitely going back though and I want to try the paella!
Excellent table, friendly staff, really enjoyed it
We had a selection of tapas dishes, most of which were vegetarian. All of them were delicious and it was great to see such a large veggie selection. The service was also very good and the place overall had a relaxed feeling.
Food was ok but not great. I wanted to order gambas pil pil which is one if the most expensive dishes on the menu but as I have a bit of problem peeling the prawns I asked if they would mind peeling for me, the answer was a straight NO. I won't be returning to this restaurant which is a shame as I was there testing the place out to bring a lot of local clients to entertain them so I will have to find another restaurant.
I went with a vegetarian girl friend for lunch and we loved the idea of the Mediterranean Tapas and ordered an assortment to share which were all very good. The staff were really friendly and we sat and had a lovely leisurely lunch with lots of laughter and chat - will definitely go again!
Excellent value for Valentine evening meal.
Service was friendly and efficient.
Went to La Raza on a Thursday evening after reading local reviews online.
Had some great tapas but were the only ones there at 8pm until about 9pm. More of an evening drinking and dancing venue than restaurant.
Great cocktail menu and very friendly staff. Would go again but more for drinks than dining.
Excellent service from waiting staff and bar people. Portion sizes on side orders incredebly small for the prices. Fish paella mostly rice and not much fish content, lacked extra ingredients. Cocktail selection good however again considerably small for price and alocohol content does not reflect in the price. Martini in slightly smaller glass than is traditional with two portions of alcohol. Disco started later than advertised at 10.25pm and DJ played background 'club music' until 11.15. We requested music but the DJ was not very friendly and said I quote: ''its my last night I want to play what I want''. He did play some recognisable music which was quite dated but converted back to just clubby background music so we left around 12.
Booked a table as a birthday surprise, the whole experience was wonderful, from the young playing the guitar he was great, the food and the surprise non alcoholic cocktails. Fantastic
Overall a good night out, although the drinks were very expensive, but the food was excellent when eventually it arrived. Prehaps the wait was due to the fact that there were eight of us.
The backgtound music was not background music, to loud and spoiled our conversation maybe a saturday night was not the right choice for a birthday bash
Good food, excellent service on a Cambridge weeknight. Tapas bigger than your regular tapas expectations so be careful how much you order!! We had the meze platter to share (very good flavours) and then a mix of chicken and vegetarian tapas (4 plates) which was more than adequate for the 2 of us. We also spread it out over the evening. Would go back & would recommend it.
Disappointing experience in La Raza, hardly a tapas bar and not a Spanish wine in sight on very sparse list. It was virtually empty at lunchtime despite its excellent location in the centre of the City. Saving grace was the cheapness of the food and the baked figs were really enjoyable.Service was friendly.
Great easy meal at La Raza in Cambridge. Everything was tasty and excellent service. Good llive music too.
I went with my girlfriend and had a nice meal here at La Raza. Every dish we ordered was tasty except the Paella which was basically rice with a few mussels, clams and prawns thrown in. The restaurant turned into a club environment after we had eaten and the music was very good. We had a nice evening and would go back if we were in Cambridge again.
La Raza Cambridge - good experience, excellent service and food, especially paella very enjoyable.
We enjoyed our dinner at La Raza very much. We had the Paella for two with a mixed green salad. The waitress was very kind and attentive. Very good value.
La Raza in Cambridge. A hot day in March, we sat outside in the alley way for a long lunch. Food was excellent but slow to arrive. We were given complimentary olives and nibbles which was a nice gesture.
We had an excellent time at la raza in Cambridge last night. Superb good value + tasty food. Very good portion size! Our waitress Jennifer was very accommodating + made us very welcome. The whole team were friendly. Very quaint+cosy feel. Clean. Live music at 10 pm then lifted the atmosphere 1 notch higher...overall great evening. Definitely recommend!!! Big thumbs up! Thank you. Will definitely be going back there :)
