From the outset La Trompette has been showered with accolades, a reflection of the love, care and energy that is invested in the restaurant by the dedicated team behind it. La Trompette was awarded a Michelin star in 2008.
This wonderful restaurant situated in the quaint neighbourhood of Chiswick serves the most delicious food in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. We had the taster menu with cheese and a lovely bottle of wine recommended to use by the attentive sommelier. Food was simply outstanding and we were lucky enough to be attended to by Christina the charming waitress who engaged with us throughout the evening. Wonderful experience
Second trip to La Trompette. This time for our wedding anniversary. As before staff extreme attentive without being fussy or in your face. Food of a very high standard. We had the special - the Cote de Boeuf for 2. Contrasted with normal portion sizes in that it was BIG. Of course no one forced us to eat it all...but that didn't stop us as "was to die for". There was quite a buzz, perhaps as it was a Friday night but this was pleasant, rather than intrusive. I continue to believe that La Trompette pays great attention to detail, serves top quality food in a very pleasant environment and at a price which although I'm sure is high compared with its neighbouring eateries still represents value.
We had a really wonderful evening. Beautifully hosted by the whole team. Gracious somelier; friendly attentive waitress; excellent maitre de.
The food was superb with the BEST soufflé I’ve ever had. My tip? Replace the ice cream with a quinnelle of clotted cream
A wonderful anniversary lunch with the family. Great food, attentive and friendly service and a lovely pace to the meal.
We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. The food was outstanding and while I have always been a red wine drinker, the pairings were out of this world. Timings and service were perfect as well as a very delicate and non-invasive approach to service. All dishes were so tasty and relatively light on the meat. There is an option to sit outside which was great in the peak of British weather. The only disappointment was knowing it would be long time before I can return because although the value for money for this is reasonable, breaching £150 per head is a rare treat for me. All in all, best culinary experience ever!
Great service from the start arriving for lunch at 1 pm on the Sunday which was my husband's birthday. We were treated to aubergines in batter while we waited for our lunch as the chef felt there was a delay. When the food arrived, both mains impressed us. Desserts were both a treat and the final touch was a happy birthday treat on the house.
We had a fabulous meal, as ever. A great way to celebrate a special occasion.
Some staff not really fit to delivery of high end dining service.
Gorgeous restaurant! Lovely staff, awesome atmosphere and great food with an incredibly wide choice of wines. Shall anyone be afraid of the cost I would suggest to opt for a cocktail instead of the wines.
Last but not least, having booked for a birthday we got a little portion of chocolate truffles served on a "happy birthday" chocolate write. Unexpected and really appreciated!
Definitely coming back to try their tasting menu!
I give this restaurant five stars without hesitation, based on two of us choosing the tasting menu. Every dish was delicious, outstanding, original, beautifully presented and the service was excellent.
Compared with previous visits I was a little disappointed with our recent dinner. The food was excellent, as usual, but the service was not the enhancement of the evening that I’d expect.
It may be a sign of age but I find the service to be the most significant part of my enjoyment of a restaurant. On our previous visit I really appreciated the sommelier, who was animated and enthusiastic - this time was a different story and enough so as to tarnish the evening. To be told, in effect “it was someone else’s fault, not mine” when something went wrong was not what I’d expect here.
Just an all round great experience, food and service as good as it gets, the trout and eel starter was outstanding. Extensive and interesting wine list.
Excellent meal enjoyed by all 5 of us. Service was unobtrusive. The gooseberry soufflé was to die for.
Expensive but worth it.
There was a slight issue with an item in the meal which was quickly dealt with. We were then given a couple of tasting dishes and the service charge was waived by means of apology - this was over and above what was required, however it was gratefully received. The meal was fantastic!
The restaurant is located a bit outside of London centre but I would thoroughly recommend it. The food was very good. The tasting menu was a mix of dishes with some fabulous flavours; all of which was beautifully presented. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who did their best to ensure we had a good time. We left happy and when we have the opportunity to come to London, we will be back.
Great ambiance, food and service !
We have visited a few times now and this restaurant never fails to provide a truly memorable experience. Taster menu with perfectly matched wines, a real treat.
The ultimate treat. This restaurant never fails! Impeccable service, creative menu's.
A wonderful evening all round - especially enjoyed the sommelier’s wine recommendations. The sea bream starter was fabulous. Thank you.
This was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised. Each dish was perfect and the service impeccable. We will be a regular for sure.
Food was fantastic. We ordered the tasking menu with wine pairing. Timing was slow and wine sometimes arrived 10-15 mins before paired course. Food timing was slow with too long a wait between courses. Excellent presentation and food.
Although aware of its reputation, this was my first visit. My expectations were exceeded. Firstly the food: Our group of 4 had a range of fish and vegetarian options as well as the Berkshire deer. Quality of ingredients; precision of cooking and seasoning; selection of accompanying vegetables; visual impact, temperature and portion sizes could not be faulted. We all had rhubarb crumble and fears of sabotaging an otherwise healthy meal were unfounded. It was the lightest variant imaginable - almost souffle-esque. Secondly the staff: There were ample staff, proactive, very cordial but not falsely pally and not unnecessarily formal. I liked the ambiance - definitely a buzz to the place, but my colleagues and I were conversing without any difficulty or interference. This will not be my last visit!
Still great after all these years. Took my wife again this week for her 60th birthday and the food was splendid. This place has been consistently good for years. Please keep it up. No complaints except perhaps they should replace the glass in one of the windows! You still great after all these years. Took my wife again this week for her 60th birthday and the food was splendid. Once again the food was excellent - but the service was superb, my wife has health issues which effects what she can eat, the staff were excellent especially Petra and they did everything to accommodate her needs - from the chef to the front of house staff.
La Trompette never fails to deliver - whether its a special occasion - or simply enjoying a leisurely lunch with a girlfriend. The warm welcome always sets the tone for a fabulous dining experience - the inviting menu, carefully considered amuse bouche and wonderful wine selection - take me back again now!
Faultless service, being given the time to enjoy each course - guarantees a swift return!

Food very good; Service could have been a little more attentive, particularly early on.
The restaurant was very welcoming and the food was amazing. The service seemd a little strange with only one of the staff taking orders and he could have been more aware of the diners, as it caused a little frustration among some diners when he was stood st the station. The sommelier took my requests for beer with good grace, but was excellent and attentive. Overall it ws an enjotable visit and we will be back.
very nice restaurant, excellent food and pleasant service
Food is always outstanding and the best value Michelin food in London.
This was really a stunning experience. We had the tasting menu with paired wines. All top notch and beautifully presented. The service was excellent- just the right balance between attentive and giving us space. Would thoroughly recommend.
Wonderful tasting menu for a Sunday lunchtime. Really well balanced dishes and a superb cheese board too. And great service. Perfect.
Overall a first class meal. Both our starters - mackerel and salad - were divine. Mains were good too, although I found my rare veal chop a bit too chewy, surprisingly. My wife's fish was excellent too. The sommelier's wine recommendation was very good and the soufflé was well worth the wait! Service was largely attentive although there were times we did have to try and catch a server's eye. The staff were warm and friendly and that's what counts. We'll be back.
We felt it took long time for dishes to arrive. .
Lovely lunch outside. We had the set lunch and it was great
Staff welcoming and friendly. Amuse-bouche and starter were outstanding; main course: cod in some sort of sauce - a bit 'meeeh?' (how do you spell that?) deer, pleasant; deserts good.
We had a table for four in the evening and had the dinner menu.
Great food and wine, good service and good atmosphere, restaurant was full.
Being coming here for years and food always fabulous - no disappointment on this visit either. But service was hit and miss, uncharacteristically. Slips included kicking chairs (twice) missed drinks orders (twice) having to ask for bread etc. Not good at this level. Was very busy with a large group so noise levels high. Overall still very good - rescued by the superb cooking - and hopefully the service and ambience slips are one-offs not the start of a trend...
