La Trompette is owned by Nigel Platts-Martin and Bruce Poole, the partnership behind Chez Bruce in Wandsworth and The Glasshouse in Kew. It therefore serves some of the best food in London but without the formality or prices associated with the capital's top end establishments. The comfortable and stylish dining room is a vibrant, busy and friendly place to be with service that is highly professional yet relaxed and informal.

From the outset La Trompette has been showered with accolades, a reflection of the love, care and energy that is invested in the restaurant by the dedicated team behind it. La Trompette was awarded a Michelin star in 2008.

3rd time that we went to La Trompette. 1st time was great but last two diners were average. Unfortunately not in line with expectations for a star Michelin restaurant. Good food but not impressive as it should be. Desert menu uninspiring unfortunately.

23rd anniversary lunch. Staff were friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Menu was so satisfying, little extras, complementary was very kind.
Great wine list, some people were really going for it, fair play to them.
Very nice ambience, I can't fault a single thing.
Final bill 135.00 for two, 3 courses with wine, three extra treats and a warm team of enthusiastic staff.

Visited for lunch. Very nice food, impressive cooking, excellent service, nice atmosphere, good wine.
Impressive, but I was left wondering whether I was actually satisfied by the meal. This is perhaps more a doubt about the style of cooking than about its execution in this restaurant.

As usual a good experience... might benefit from some lighter dishes on the menu at lunch time

It started well and finished well but was nothing great in between.
An amazing amuse bouche which the staff kindly let us have twice.
We tried the taster menu. Nothing was horrible but much of it was high in effort and low in delivery - particularly the mains. The saving grace was the desert of banana and caramel couple with passion fruit ice cream that was one of the best puds I have ever had.

After 15 years, this is still my favourite restaurant. The food is wonderful, the sommelier enchanting, and the service impeccable. The tasting menu was a mission worth undertaking.

Beautiful food with exceptional staff. We had dinner as a special event before we returned to Australia and it was the perfect farewell .

We had pretty high expectations of La Trompette based on the reviews - and these were exceeded by the quality of the food and by the attentive service. Very clearly worth the drive a few times over. A gem.

Cuisines are incredibly flavorful and elegantly presented. The most impressive one dish has to be hand rolled linguine. With black truffle and a sip of carefully chosen Riesling, an explosion of aroma in my mouth. Bravo!

As usual La Trompette delivered a superb experience when we dined with friends for an early Christmas celebration - only this time the food was even better than usual which is quite an achievement!

Generally speaking, it’s a very fancy restaurant however the food was a bit slacking that day. The edge of plate was a bit dirty and the foam was too liquid:(

We went to celebrate my friends 50th birthday. The ambiance was very good, service excellent and attentive, the wine list is also very good.
The only thing that spoilt the evening for me was the food! Our starters took 45 minutes to arrive - though an adjustment to the bill was made for keeping us waiting.
There was a certain arrogance in the menu and the chef - I wanted my lamb cooked to well done and I was told that the chef would not do that and I would have to have it pink. In a restaurant of this class, one would expect a chef to know how to cook meat well done without drying it out - I have never had this problem at other restaurants - hence my comment about arrogance. And, to make the food experience complete, my meal arrived cold.

So, the overall experience could have been so much better, and at these prices, one should expect no less - however, it was not, so I was disappointed.
