From the outset La Trompette has been showered with accolades, a reflection of the love, care and energy that is invested in the restaurant by the dedicated team behind it. La Trompette was awarded a Michelin star in 2008.
Loin of Cod
creamed potato, salsify, hen of the woods, hazelnuts and kale pesto
Hand Rolled Linguine
black winter truffle, aged parmesan (3g +25)
celeriac remoulade and garden radishes (+4 each)
Terrific food, wonderful wine, and an exceptional cheese trolley (with accompanying 3 x port selection) sealed an extravagant, but well worth it, evening!
The staff are so welcoming and knowledgable. Great lunch time visit.
La trompette is a superb establishment that never disappoints in any way. Over nearly two decades we have always had a fantastic experience that keeps us coming back.
As usual the food and service was great. I’m vegetarian and love the truffle linguini, the amazing selection of wine, and of course the cheese board. I am a little paranoid about the current risks and discretely asked for a table away from others. They put me in the room next door, about 5m away from everyone else. Great friendly service as usual.
Excellent dining experience as always at one of our favourite restaurants
Living just round the corner, I'm a regular diner. The food is always excellent, the service attentive without being overpowering, and the ambiance warm and friendly. And still no music, thank goodness.
Once again an excellent lunch.
La Trompette is our favourite restaurant. We live in Southampton but travel up to London as we love the food so much. We always have the tasting menu. All the staff are lovely.
A truly great place to celebrate a special occasion with nearest and dearest.
Absolutely fabulous food. Chose from the a la carte menu and every course was perfect. I had cheese for desert. The cheese cart choice was fantastic, some of the tastiest cheeses I've had in a long time. Topped off with the perfect salted caramel tuffle. The servcie was superb as well.
Excellent Friday lunch. We had the tasting menu with wine flight and couldn’t fault any of the dishes. Delicious. Will definitely return.
Consistently a very good experience and restuarant.
Only 3 tables booked so there was no atmosphere in the restaurant. Admittedly it was a Monday night but there was not a vibrant buzz in the restaurant which meant quite a dull celebration. Food was fussy and heavy. Staff lovely and professional.
Over the years, we have been to La Trompette several times. We are always impressed with the food and the service.
However, I always fail to understand why I should pay an extra £4 for one oyster, or £6 for a piece of seabass etc on a menu which already costs £57.
I find this regrettable.
Service was amazing again.
Something different from the all to similar fayre
Faultless lunch for two. Every dish was perfectly balanced and flavourful. We tried four different wines by the glass, all excellent choices if a little pricey; probably better buying a bottle. Service was quietly efficient and friendly. Best meal for ages.
My friend and I dined at La Trompette for a weekday tasting lunch and we really enjoyed the food and service. Service was friendly, attentive and not too formal. The food was well-presented, flavourful and plentiful. We were so full at the end of the meal, which we had also paired with wines. The flavours were fresh and the dessert was especially memorable, a delicious and well-prepared souffle!
Been coming for many years, still excellent value.
Brilliant food, wine and service. My favourite restaurant.
Still one of my favorite places in London. Great food, laid back atmosphere, fair pricing, a decent wine list and very friendly service.
Fantastic dining experience as ever
Such a good lunch at a reasonable price - the food at La Trompette was pretty faultless - there was a root vegetable puree I really didn't like on one of the dishes, but that's down to personal taste really. Other than that top class cooknig. It did take a full two hours for a 3 course lunch, so be prepared for a longer than usual wait between courses and come prepared. It's worth it though - the dining room is comfortable and the staff pleasant, so it's an easy place to while away a couple of hours.
Brilliant service Christina was an awesome person
Food wine and atmosphere were top notch
Couldn’t fault a thing
Delicious food, great service, very nice surroundings !! What’s no to like
been a few times now and has never failed to impress. great food, great atmosphere and overall great value.
Excellent food, nice atmosphere and service. We felt as a really important guests even though we've been there at a really busy time. It was interesting to watch how organised they are serving to a party next to us while we were waiting for our food. Place to go to
Absolutely first class from beginning to end. Excellent, attentive, knowledgeable service. Food delicious. Strongly recommend
Incredible food. Wonderful restaurant. Would highly recommend it to foodies!
Great expectations unfulfilled. Poor choice of wines (by the glass) on the part of the Sommelier. Food short of the mark with respect to taste and preparation. A curious "four cornered" leak veloute tasted more like a home made parsley soup. A suckling pig was accompanied by a dreadful roasted cabbage chunk-on trend but please note chefs-this is an abomination.
On reflection, a nice restaurant but not worth the hype.
A lovely meal. Relaxed and no pressure on the table time - although we had been warned of a 2.25 hr limit we were there for 3 hours + with no pressure. Sommelier was helpful and informative. All the food was good but the duck stood out. The cheese course was absolutely superb and an experience in its own right from the detailed explanations of the board onwards. We are used to a smaller more intimate restaurant: La Trompette is larger and so was a little more lively and less intimate but there was no loss of attention from the staff and the experience overall was superb.
A marvellous experience as always
Fantastic evening for a special night to celebrate my partner’s birthday. We couldn’t fault the food and service and will definitely be back for another special occasion.
The food is stunning and extremely tasty and service and ambiance is really great too.
Incredible value for money for the quality of food and service delivered. A varied menu and extensive wine list, well worth a visit!
Probably one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Excellent wine recommendations as well.
Perfect all round experience.
La Trompette remains the finest restaurant in Chiswick. There is little else to say.
I would have given a full 5 star rating , but my Deseret was a tad disappointing. Starter-warm salad of artichoke & coppa con collo was delicious
Main-Honey glazed duck was cooked to perfection and all the components of the dish worked perfectly.
Sadly the Rhubarb and vanilla Mille feuille was a tad bland. The pastry needed to be lighter and the cream needed to be a heavier creme patisserie with more evident vanilla. The real disappointment though was the scant use of rhubarb which was more of a garnish that the star ingredient it should have been.
Perhaps if the other dishes hadn’t of been so stellar my dessert wouldn’t have felt like such a let down.
I almost forgot, an absolutely banging cheeseboard with the world’s best oatcakes.
It’s not cheap, but it was worth it. I will return again.
Ps the men’s toilets are a bit..... cosy.
Fantastic food and excellent service as ever . A lovely treat
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on Sunday, the food was amazing, the staff friendly and efficient. Just a very small gripe, we had to ask for a refill of our white wine while eating our starter. This was quickly rectified. Much prefer it to your sister restaurant, The Glasshouse. We will return.
As always the food is delicious, the service is good and the ambience is great!
