From the outset La Trompette has been showered with accolades, a reflection of the love, care and energy that is invested in the restaurant by the dedicated team behind it. La Trompette was awarded a Michelin star in 2008.
Excellent cuisine and efficient and discreet service. Highly recommend.
Really great meal, reasonably priced for a three course French menu and service was just excellent. There was a small mix up with our order, and to make up for it we got a complimentary extra course and two glasses of wine, they really went above and beyond. Recommend the venison and the pork, they were fantastic!
I've eaten in La Trompette before and the food was amazing!! Though the waiter kept filling out glasses and we unintentionally became drunk. Overall very good.
This time the main course was salty and slightly burnt and did not taste good. They didn't charge me for it but I didn't think the food was outstanding overall.
Plus the waiters kept coming over to try and take our order, a bit too pushy for me. I'm in no hurry to return.
The food and service were both fantastic, however our table was far too close to the table next door. We could hear their conversation more clearly than our own. Extremely off putting. That said, the gaps between most of the other tables seemed okay, so I think we were unlucky.
Not been for a couple of years but it was excellent. Way above average food with all 3 courses extremely good.
I have been to a number of Michelin starred restaurants around the world but La Trompette is my favourite. The food is always great and there is no airs and graces. Service is honest and fantastic selection of wines.
This was my fourth visit to la Trompette, bringing along friends from the Netherlands and we were all very impressed with the quality of the food and the service
We had a really wonderful evening and I will surely be back!
La Trompette never disappoints. We had a wonderful night celebrating a birthday, thoroughly enjoying the tasting menu and accompanying wines. Food was excellent and the menu really thoughtfully put together and contained some interesting surprises. We also really appreciated the introductions to the various wines, which gave just the right level of information. Service was friendly and impeccable.
I am a regular client at this restaurant and have always enjoyed my meals there. On this occasion, the service was poor at best. I had to call over he sommelier to order pre supper drinks after waiting a good half hour with no service. The waiting staff were inexperienced and served up the incorrect bread despite asking three times which one we wanted. Although the food was delicious, the evening was unmemorable.
Always good. Always a reliable venue for a business dinner.
Great evening to be sitting outside. The service has always been great. This is the best restaurant in Chiswick. The reason why it has 4 out 5 was that the wait for unusually long between first and main. The main was good but usually they are exceptional. Regardless I will go back.
Everything about La Trompette was superior. The food and service were amazing. The personal service, friendliness and professionalism was fop notch
Service initially rather poor. When I complained they really sorted it out and made up for a bad first 30 mins.
Food was excellent - the cheese plate was superb
Excellent service, food and ambiance. It deserves the Michelin star and more. Staff went the extra mile in meeting a late request for a birthday ‘cake’ - all done discretely and with good taste.
Very good menu choice and extensive wine list with some good value tucked away.
Excellent in every way
Excellent food and service as always
My husband chose La Trompette as the venue where would celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We had an excellent lunch, we were looked after graciously and we will definitely not wait another 12 months before returning .
Just dependably delicious and compared to so many places. Great value
This is the sort of place one goes to for a special occasion and it was special. Let's start with the food which was outstanding. Helpings were of average size but all tasted delicious and were not the sort of thing you would cook at home. Really very special. The service, especially the wine service was a bit slow and as our wine was in a cooler a few yards away we couldn't just pour it. Something that could be improved. The ambience was calm and full of somewhat older genteel folk from Chiswick. We were celebrating a wedding anniversary and La Trompette gained bonus points for bringing us some extra nibbles at the end on a plate with congratulations written in chocolate. So, for a special occasion, I would recommend this one, especially for the food.
Perfect lunch as always. I can’t eat any gluten and the staff and kitchen made sure I didn’t have any! Our favourite had to be the chocolate at the end of our meal
As always an excellent meal. Our favourite London restaurant. Will be back again when we next stay in London.
Firstly I have to say, we LOVE La Trompette, it is our favourite restaurant, however our meal on Saturday evening was underwhelming sadly.
There were the touches of the usual brilliance, the warm homemade bread with seriously delicious French salted butter, excellent pre-dinner drinks, smiley friendly staff and greetings.
The starters at the table were all delicious and lots of sharing went on, however when our mains came, my suckling pig was just warm, not hot, but if someone had touched the table at that point, I would have sent it back to heat it up.
Desert was where the wheels fell off the usual quality, 3 of us ordered cheese, always good and a great selection, our friend ordered the Millefeuille which came out overcooked and burnt along the edge pieces, how this was sent out by the kitchen we couldn't fathom, we did complain and it was whisked away with no question, a second choice desert came out, a Mascavado sugar custart tart, was nice in flavour, but too warm so the custard had split a bit, the waiter then bought out another complimentary desert to the table, this was a peach crumble soufflé, perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth, but you couldn't taste the peach.
Overall, we didn't have our best night at La Trompette, we still love it, and will go back...
An absolutely fantastic evening, company and perfect food.
Superb as ever. Seven of us for a Saturday lunch.
Every item we had was outstanding, the staff were fantastic.
By no means cheap, but worth it for the very occasional mildly extravagant splurge.
Right up there with the best, without any of the OTT pretensiousness.
Of course, we'll be back.
Great meal with excellent service. I would ease off on the butter a bit though
La Trompette is always a great value evening and the service and team make you feel very welcome and special and they delivery excellent service
my guests said was too difficult to choose what on menu as so much to that they liked
Always a good choice
Good lunchtime menu and excellent food...a lovely place to have a celebratory meal with friends.
Good place for a Sunday lunch, very good food and wine list. Attentive service. Highly recommend it
Always amazing. Tasting menu with wines just perfect in so many ways for a special occasion.
Celebrated my wedding anniversary at this gorgeous restaurant that never fails to impress. Wonderful food and perfect, not over the top, service. Couldn't fault the whole experience.
Superb as usual
Fantastic food cooked wonderfully. Their black pudding is delicious.
Delicious summery starters and varied puddings. A great neighbourhood restaurant
Excellent well balanced menu with very good attentive service
Lovely dinner. We had the tasting menu and wine pairing and everything was delicious. The first dish was a cured bream with a wasabi sauce. It took self control to not lick the bowl. My friend and I voted it the favorite of the night. Other dishes included a pasta with truffles, a light and tasty scallops dish, fall-apart short ribs, and dessert. The wines were well suited to their counterparts. It was a wonderful evening.
This place has it all. Food worthy of its Michelin star, and service that is second to none.
A cool room on the hottest day ever was a good start. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and the food was great.
Really an excellent dinner and a relief to be in a restaurant where you can actually hear what someone says. Notably good and fairly priced wine recommendation. Superb cuisine, if modest servings. Probably a good thing!
Aubergine starter was delicious.
Cod and Turbot as main courses very good as well with a smoky octopus.
Wine is reasonable and diverse.
Good deserts as well.
One of the best restaurant in the area and a safe choice for business and private events
