Wonderful experiences, always! Perfect for celebrate romantic dates.
Best Reuben sandwich I have ever had! Great Service!
We arrived with our reservation and they said sorry we do not take Open Table after 3 pm. There were 7 of us including a baby. This us totally unacceptable.
Used to love going here, one of the restaurants I made sure to support through COVID, mostly takeout. VERY disappointed and will not return. Saw tables being served liquor - NO food to the table for the hour and a half we were there. Sat outside while some man was smoking a cigar in the patio. Servers allowed it, apparently he is a "regular" so it was ok. Disgusting to smell while eating, never mind it's against the law. Gross. I was a server for 20 plus years, couldn't believe what I was seeing. Sad.
Great food just a bit old fashioned inside, I think it’s more suited for a very older crowd. The food was good though no complaints with service
Lovely outdoor dining area. Excellent drinks, food and service.
Food is always excellent and the prices are very reasonable
Dined on the patio. Music was far too loud and difficult to talk around the table. In addition, the route 1 traffic added a fair amount of background noise. Would not hurt to put a fence between the patio and route 1 to reduce background noise and add a little ambiance.
Thank you...nice dinner and very nice experience.
A warm and welcoming restaurant with great food. First time there but I'd definitely go back.
First time there. It was great. It would have been better without COVID-19
Great food great time Awesome atmosphere would recommend
It was nice to visit the Lafayette House again. We've not been for a while since Covid, like everyone else. Hard to see so many restaurants so quiet. We try to hit them all up as much as we can, rotating around. Hope to be by again in a few months. Thank you for your great service and warm hospitality. The Noel Family
We have a family of 7 and this was our first time eating out in months; I was so happy they were able to accommodate us. The service was great and the food was incredible.
We went for an anniversary dinner on a Saturday night and sat out on the patio. They had live music and string lights which created an enjoyable atmosphere. I got the filet, which was fantastic. My fiancé got the salmon which he said was “okay”. My only complaint was they were obviously understaffed. We were seated in the back and waited 30 minutes without anyone coming over. I finally called a server over and she took our drink and food orders and checked on us somewhat frequently thereafter. The table next to us had also been forgotten about and had to speak up to get their orders taken. Regardless, the pros of the night outweighed the cons and I would definitely go back for that filet! Just hope they hire a few more servers!
Enjoyable evening with safety protocols in place.
Same as I remember from years past; good food, slow service. Menu entree selection is limited
Service was slow and the specials menu on-line was different from what was offered the evening we went to the restaurant. I was very much looking forward to a Prime Rib, which was what was listed on the on-line menu and disappointed to find out the restaurant was not keeping this page up to date on their web site. The beer selection was poor...nothing on tap and the service was slow despite the restaurant not being that busy.
Out of a lot of items. Rolls arrived at the table after the food.
Very friendly staff
Dinner was excellent, we had a surf and turf special. Road noise was loud. We did end up with mosquito bites. Service was paced great and attentive.
We had a great time. Outdoor dining was terrific and we loved the music. We will be back with our group again. Thx for the experience. Connie
We ate in the tavern. I ordered a filet medium rare. It was cooked perfect.
Wonderful Fisherman platter.
Large and plentiful and reasonably priced
Very good but restaurant needs to use real plates and utensils. Other outdoor dining is doing so and paper products just don’t cur it
Best burgers!! Good service as well, waitress was quick and correct amount of attentiveness
Food was fresh and delicious. Waitress was excellent and very attentive (Wanda). Can’t wait to return.
My family and I enjoyed everything no complaints we thought everything was handled appropriately
Outside seating comfortable, but Rt 1 traffic noise. Waitress great.
It was the first weekend after restaurants were able to reopen. It was a great night to eat on a patio. Our family enjoyed the meal and service. It was nice to be out!
A night out from this COVID19 (outdoor dining) not 6’ apart under staffed waited an hour for a waitress to take our dinner order we actually left after our drinks. Never orderimesl😩
I always enjoy coming to the Lafayette House and Monday March 2nd was no exception. The food was great and our waitress Wanda was wonderful. We were not rushed and had a very leisurely lunch. We will be returning soon.
A note of interest: My husband and I had our wedding reception there 52 years ago.
People are still talking about the Filet Mignon we had for dinner.
Great service and quality of food was tasty. Vegetables could have been a little warmer.
The food and menu here has not changed much over the years. The serving staff seemed to have seen a better day. Our waitress was older than dirt, paid zero attention to us. She never brought water after 2 requests, but mysteriously delivered a second round of drinks that nobody ordered. Still waiting for our water. She never cleaned our table after dinner. Tried to get her attention repeatedly without success. We were attending a show up the street and had to ask 2 other servers to get her attention so we could get our check. One of the worst serving experiences ever experienced.
With that said, all 3 of our dinners were perfectly cooked and delicious. Too bad all was ruined by the service.
Very quiet Tuesday night but enjoyed our table near the fireplace. Lafayette stuffed mushroom caps good for sharing even though there were 5. Rack of lamb cooked to perfection and looked so pretty on the plate that it warranted a picture. Broiled scallops very plentiful and delicious. No room for dessert tonight.
We both ordered the twin filets with lobster. So good filets were tender and lobster was sweet.
Friday night buffet is best deal around. Excellent prime rib. Seriously good food. Not fancy but delicious.
I enjoyed the meal. Large portions were very good. Service was prompt, drinks were well made as well. Only downside is the restaurant is old (part of the charm I guess), and a little facelift would help.
Fantastic Prime Rib
