Unfortunately the menu online was not the menu on the table when we arrived. In addition about half of the items on the table menu were not avaiable so it was a choice of fish and chips, burgers or pizzas. Then we found out that the chef was not working..... The lady serving did her best but it was overall disappointing especially as we had all driven over an hour and a half to get there.

We seated at our table at 7pm and didn't get out starter till 8pm, the starters aren't worth the amount your charged, £11 for four tiny scallops few dabs of purée and four salad leaves but the main course was £10 and you got plenty so don't go for starters, we didn't go for deserts as we wasn't offered them.

I would not recommend this eatery on the grounds stated above. We ordered the roast beef and were advised the meat was 'pink' but it was impossible to cut so we asked for a 'doggy' bag so the meat was shared between our hounds when we got home. A 30 second blast in the microwave would have made you feel you were not trying to eat a live cow! There is a difference between 'rare' and 'raw' Dd not enjoy the burnt cauliflour or the carrot and swede combo mash. Enjoyed the potatoes though so was not a total disaster

Service was slow even though the place was virtually empty. £6 for a starter comprising 1 sliced Tomato and a tiny portion of shredded Mozzarella on a few leaves was scandalous, beaten by £7 for 3 scoops of ice cream . Poor quality food and ridiculous prices.

The reason I went to the Lamb was I had a look at their evening online menu and as a family we all choose what we wanted to eat. On arrival half the items that were on the online menu were not on offer, consequently we never ordered a starter as the Halloumi wasn't on the menu, the kids ordered pizza and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife , mum and I ordered steak, when mine arrived it wasn't hot and I asked for it medium-well which it wasn't, it was medium-rare. The steaks were bland, un-seasoned, there was no garlic butter offered and there was no sauces on the menu to purchase. They were the sort of steaks I would expect to eat in a chain like JD Wetherspoon or Yates. I never complained as we were all hungry and just wanted to eat our tea. When spending £2 short of £100 I would expect a much better meal.

The Lamb is a great place for a traditional (or not so traditional depending on what you choose) family Sunday lunch. Food is good quality with generous portions. Staff friendly and attentive. Well worth another visit and would definitely recommend.

Good lunch, great yorkshires, maybe a little pricy, good welcome, overall the building is a little tired but we had a good meal.

We have eaten here a few times now having recently moved to Chalgrove, the menu and food is always brilliant and the kids menu can be tailored exactly how you want it. Service is always faultless and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Cant fault the place.

Our first visit since moving to chalgrove. We received a warm welcome and the service was good - despite the young man apparently being on both bar and restaurant duty! He did well and was very personable. The food was standard pub fare with a few more interesting additions and twists such as crispy calamari that was cooked to perfection and a delicious homemade curry. Will definitely go again.

We used a groupon voucher to have lunch here. The pub was in a good location, had a good atmosphere and the food was very tasty. Service was quick and there was a lovely garden to make use of in good weather.

Had a great meal on Friday night, pub was rather quiet, service very attentive. food was great, steak perfectly cooked rare and a medium rare and great crisp frites to accompany them. Also had a chicken burger with garlic mayo which was good.

The last time we visited The Lamb was 20 years ago, what a change!
Friendly welcome and excellent service. We came on a Groupon deal, but would visit again without one. Steak was mouth watering.

Unfortunately the menu was very limited with the same food being available as there was 8 weeks ago. Presentation was poor. Its a shame as we were expecting great things from the new management.
The mushrooms on toast was not a great culinary feet at all and I would suggest if they want to become a foody restaurant then they try and make a better menu and have a wine list.
Alternatively become a family pub allowing for good reasonable food.
