Stacey Lawson and Paul Fields are not only delighted but thoroughly excited to announce the opening of their restaurant. Stacey and Paul sensed something was missing from the Lincoln dining experience. Paul had always had a passion to open up an independent restaurant and as a local girl Stacey recognised that although Lincoln is a historical City and a very dynamic and growing City, there was a clear need for a relaxed restaurant experience that combined history with modernity.

Based in Greetham, The Wheatsheaf is 6 miles from Oakham and 4 miles from Rutland Water. Carol and Scott took over the Wheatsheaf in March 2008. The seasonal Modern British menu changes weekly. The wine list is based on wines from around the world with a good selection by the glass.     Not being a fan of cream and cakes, I have always been a bit reluctant to do afternoon tea. However, having experienced this, because of a gift card from daughter, my opinion has changed. My wife enjoyed her standard tea of cream and jam scone with selection of cakes but I had the savoury option, all my favourite things, sausage roll, pork pie, cheese, scotch egg, haslet with pickle as well as the standard sandwiches. Superb. The ambience, service and overall experience were all excellent. I am converted to afternoon tea and will be doing it again.

    Booking a table was straightforward and amending also simple. Arrived at the restaurant and they were expecting us. Venue was clean with modern decor. Waitress was very friendly and polite. Give time to choose drinks and more time to select the food. Waitress was fully aware of the various dishes and gave advice. I was confident what we had ordered would arrive on the table. Fast turnaround for the piping hot tasty food. Music was not too loud Really enjoyed our meal
