This was a lunch visit. The restaurant wasn’t full so was quieter than we have previously experienced. Service was very good. Attentive when needed but not pushy. The food was its usual excellent standard and served at a very nice pace for us. We always like visiting Hawksmoor and will continue to do so.

My wife and I went along with a voucher for a Sunday roast and were not disappointed. We both had gazpacho to start which was so light and fresh - the perfect way to start a roast dinner meal. Followed up with roast beef, which we had pink although the choice of having it cooked through was offered, we enjoyed ours pink. A lovely plate of veg and perfect gravy accompanied it, and I followed up with some churros which were excellent. I can recommend the Camden pale ale and my wife really enjoyed the white Rioja. Overall we had a great time - the decor is lovely, we had a great booth table, and the background chatter was the perfect level to make you feel at home and fit in with the ambience yet still be able to hold your own conversation. We interacted with a number of staff but unfortunately I can't remember names but all of them were friendly and fun, happy to have a quick chat and always there to answer any questions. Service was perfectly paced so much that we ate a good amount of food yet still left without feeling stuffed - not often the case these days, but I was very impressed. I'd always looked at the prices and thought it was in the high side which maybe put me off a bit but having the voucher encouraged me to go and now I see that actually the prices are less off putting now I've had a positive experience there.

Impressed with the food, ambience and service. I liked that the venue was warm, there was enough space between the tables to have a private conversation. Service was excellent and friendly. The food was delicious and everyone happy with their choice. This was far superior to the awful Apex restaurant dining experience in Edinburgh during the summer. Well done to the the chefs and food preparation& waiting staff at Dundee Apex.

We visited on 11 January for lunch and spent the afternoon. From the start the staff were welcoming, friendly, efficient and checked in on us without being overbearing. The waiting staff on shift that day are a credit to the company. The food was delicious and the restaurant was comfortable, beautifully decorated and warm. The music was a little loud where we sat but was turned down when we asked. The only thing that lets the place down are the toilets which are very cold. One toilet was out of order and the other barely locked and although it has a sink in it, you have to come out into the main room to dry your hands. However, this did not detract from what was a great afternoon catching up with a friend with no rush to move on by the staff. Looking forward to visiting again.
