My wife and I booked the Mount Pleasant Experience, at a cost of $25 each, which highlights the history and vineyards unique to Mount Pleasant. On tasting was a collection of six wines demonstrating the diversity of the Hunter Valley and celebrating the evolution of their wines. We were greeted at the door by a smartly dressed lady by the name of Denise and led to our table in the corner of a beautifully decorated dining hall with an expansive reception and tasting bar in the centre and impressive rustic timber beams above. The view from our elevated position was equally impressive and overlooked a vast, pristine vineyard with a backdrop of misted violet hills. The table was beautifully decorated in white linen and glistening crystal glasses. Denise enthusiastically explained a little of the history of Mount Pleasant, the wine making process and the character and complexities we could expect from the wines on tasting. Accompanying the wines (and included in the price) we’re a selection of locally sourced olives, fresh baked bread, sliced green apple to cleanse the pallet, and the most delightful petite canapé’s, which were all delicious. As each wine was delicacy poured, Denise described what we could expect from each individual wine in terms of flavour, texture and complexity and then waited for our opinion, which was always positive. The overall experience at Mount Pleasant was amazing and this was reflected in the quality of the wines, which resulted in us purchasing several bottles to take home, enjoy, and reflect on our memorable visit to the Hunter, and in particular, **Mount Pleasant Wines**. If you want to indulge in one of the finer experiences in life, but don’t want to spend a ridiculous amount of money, then I highly recommend the Mount Pleasant Experience.
