We had a fantastic meal as usual at the Rock & fountain. Staff were great, we did book and made slight mistake with numbers but staff were eager to change and fit us in. The restaurant was full and at times service was slow but this did not affect our experience at all. There was a mistake with a steak meal and instead of just saying sorry and pick something else they upgraded the meal. Not many would have done this. You need to book but great meal thank you

We went with our dog at 6pm following an afternoon walk along the river Wye. It was ideal. We ate in the conservatory as we had the dog. It was steak night and the waitress recommended The Tomahawk, steak for two people. It was fantastic. Well cooked and pink in the middle as we requested. The accompaniments were all good and well seasoned. It was too much for the two of us , so we took some home, and the dog loved the bone. First class food and a relaxed, informal setting. Will certainly return.

When you arrive at this location, you could be forgiven for thinking you have come to the wrong place. It is very unassuming from the outside, and it's easy to drive past it and think you have accidentally turned into a farm yard / eventing location. However, do not judge a book by its cover..... Inside is very welcoming, spacious and warm. The service, from start to finish, was nothing short of excellent, and the food was the biggest surprise. It really was excellent. The menu was short, but that normally suggests that the dishes have been properly focused on and that was the case here. Each of the starters our party of eight ordered were deemed excellent. The main courses were plentiful, extremely well cooked, and great value. And the puddings were off the chart nice! I heartily recommend this place. Go on - give it a try. As a bonus, there are excellent views across the Welsh countryside......
