Restaurants near Corgraff Castle

Had a wonderful meal, served by the beautiful and friendly Diana, Bethany and Kelly. I can't recommend the mash tun enough.

We were a group of 7. Food took 40 minutes to arrive which was only ok as we were busy talking so not too bothered. Otherwise it would have felt unacceptable. Food was nice. Hot, so obviously not been lying around despite the time taken. Stornoway trio starters were loved. Batter on fish was a bit too doughy. Turkey was very tender, roast beef too. Too little gravy on roast meals was a little irk. Choc orange cheesecake was enjoyed. Overall food was fine. Young waiting staff were polite and friendly. One annoyance was my husband making a point of seeking out staff while we waited on main courses (the only gentleman on shift was who he found), asking to have bill given to him specifically, and for gift vouchers purchase, and cost to be added to meal. The member of staff had disappeared by the end of our meal. Bill wasn’t directed to him, and no gift vouchers …. We didn’t chase up, their loss! We might go again, but would hope for speedier food service, and proper attention.

A great time as usual, had to ask for things a couple of times. Food was spaced out perfectly though.

I don't eat out very often. But the Clacken is very quickly becoming my goto place. The surroundings are pleasant and the staff attentive. The food is reasonably priced, especially when considering the quality and is cooked to the highest standard. I can't recommend the 'Clachen' highly enough. Well worth a visit...
