Mushrooms are the heart of what we do at the Joel Palmer House. We have always endeavored to obtain seasonal and local ingredients and we use many locally produced greens, herbs, and vegetables, some of which come from our own culinary garden. We are frequently inspired by ingredients found in the cuisines of France, China, Thailand, Poland and India, so we call our cooking "freestyle." Great little spot in downtown Newberg, small, but not too crowded. The food was fantastic, so hard to choose and the prices were surprising reasonable! Our waiter Sky was just the best! He was super friendly and gracious with all of our questions and requests (even the odd ones!) and made my Mom’s birthday fantastic. Definitely will be back and will be recommending to friends.

Seemless service. Everyone chipping in to make sure the customer experience is top priority. We had the omakase experienced and was extremely happy that we did as we tasted most of the dishes on the menu. Some dishes were a little over salted but we loved it all. Wine and digestive recommendations were amazing. We shall return in the near future.

Beautifully quaint space perfect for the excellent French fare. Oysters, escargot, and coq cu vin were outstanding and the wine list would satisfy anyone’s taste. I especially liked the range of prices on their wine list. Wonderful place, wonderful meal!

If you are craving a sandwich, burger, or salad with a refreshing beverage, this is a place for you. We ordered the prime rib on a Saturday night. It was flavorful and moist. Our CC only critique is that we would have liked a little more variety on the menu. The service was excellent at the pub and cellar
