"Great food. Attentive and accommodating staff. Bookable during the Fringe. Only reservation is that the veggie main dishes are slightly pricey for what you got. I'd definitely come back if back in town."See more

"Amazing food, fantastic service and outstanding wine list. Elegant but not too fussy. We ate here Wednesday evening and the entire family decided we should go back for lunch after touring University of Edinburgh the next day. The food was amazing. Big hits were salmon three ways, Boeuf Bourgogne (one of the best beef meals I’ve had) and Chateaubriand. Desserts were fantastic too. The wine list is not very long, but very well selected and includes a number of decently aged wines from excellent producers (Mortet, Grivot, Marquis de la Guiche, Lafon and some excellent clarets too). Great spot."See more

"on visiting this restaurant on Thurs 31 Jan 2019 we arrived early (the first customers)but were shown to a table and asked if we wanted drinks , although it was early the restaurant was cold and the décor was quite dull and spartan, the staff were very friendly and helpful and although there was no sharing platter on the menu one was made up for us. Now to get to the important part, this restaurant is all about the food and having travelled extensively both all over Britain and the continent this was possibly the best Indian food we have ever eaten if it was possible I would give the food 10 stars The location is also superb being immediately opposite the Festival theatre ideal for pre theatre dinner. Our party consisted of three adults and the total cost including drinks was only £85.00 which considering its location in the middle of Edinburgh was excellent. I would be happy to visit again, but if they could sort out the ambience issues and toilet I would happily have given it 10 stars."See more

"Great meal for 4 on the pretheatre menu. Accommodated dietary requirements. It was a Tuesday night and we had the place to ourselves. The friendly staff managed to get the balance of being there when you needed and not too full on. Would recommend."See more

"My wife had eaten here before approximately 12 years ago and had an amazing meal, now many years later we found ourselves In Edinburgh with our now grown up daughters and looking for somewhere to eat, this came up and we remembered the stunning views over the castle and decided to give it a whirl. On arrival we were greeted and seated, we elected for cocktails to start and then ordered from the two course menu, two had the haddock and I had the flatiron steak, our youngest went for the burger., the portions were very generous, the food was delicious, truly we have eaten in many fine establishments but this was in the top 1% . The desserts too were awesome, I had the simple vanilla ice cream, roasted almonds and coated in a chocolate sauce and it was simply divine. This service was attentive , the cocktails awesome and the good divine. A very underrated gem in Edinburgh, give it a try I doubt you will be disappointed"See more
