Restaurants near Laggan Dam

Lovely afternoon in the wee choo choo. Gai Satay and spring roll platter was the perfect starter. Very well presented. Main course pla salmon, never tasted anything like it absolutely fabulous. Ma-sa-man with the duck leg was my husbands dish, another meal that hit the spot. Menu was well explained by the staff member. Wine was a Sauvignon went well with the salmon. Option of 2 Brandys, took the courvoisier top dollar brand. The owner was most welcoming and sat and chatted and gave us the background to their adventure. Disabled access is not an issue for wheelchair users. Definitely will return soon.

A gem of a restaurant, delicious food, friendly staff and great atmosphere

Live music was great and very entertaining. The food was good and beer was cold! The service, in particular, was excellent. We were sat quickly, the server came quickly for drink orders, drinks arrived surprisingly quick in such a crowded establishment, our server was outstanding, and we wish we would have caught her name. We were a family of 5 and had a small issue with another patron joining our dinner to take the sixth seat at our table near the bar. He was chatting up my daughter, and I noticed another server gesture to her, asking if she needed help. She signaled no, and we let the gentlemen chat with us until we left fairly quickly. I very much appreciate the staff looking out for us. When we return to Scotland and come thru Inverness, we'll come back to Hootananny.

The staff here is very attentive and super sweet. The inside is like a warm cottage and the comfort food just fits. Loved it.
