I arrived with a friend after seeing an early evening performance of Underdog at the National Theatre slightly earlier than booked but were welcomed, shown to a table and soon had a refreshing glass of wine in hand. Servers were patient and our meals, once ordered, arrived in timely fashion, were very tasty - salmon for my friend, steak and frites for me for the first time in ages and the steak was good and rare as I had asked. We hung around quite a while but noboby made it plain they wanted us out so they could go home. A very good evening all round.

This was the perfect setting for tea after a busy day of walking around London. The room is lovely and calm, as you would expect in a library. The service was great and the food even better. We asked for some dairy free options and were thrilled to find out they have a full vegan and gluten free tea menu. We asked twice if the desserts were really dairy free because they were so good! Overall a great experience.

Naturally it's a great location overlooking the river with a spacious light filled high ceiling restaurant attached to a concert hall. Sometimes these obvious attractions can make a place lazy with the food. Not here. We had Smoked salmon followed by Sea Bass in a light cream sauce with potato, spinach (a little too little spinach) so we added a side of seasonal green veg. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented by attentive staff. Nice bottle of Viognier at a good price. Petit Four with the tea and coffee. Nice green tea. For what it was - faultless. The menu was a little too similar to last time we visited - maybe 2 months ago. Not sure if they are sticking to what they can do well? - might be a good policy - but we'd want to look elsewhere for variety's sake.

From arriving at the restaurant, I was warmly welcomed. The greeters, the staff and server was excellent. I found the chicken wings so delicious, squid yummy and the fish and chips very tasty. I loved looking at the view of the river from my table. It was a wonderful experience before seeing the play. I hope to return soon.
