"We each ordered a tea service. One of us got the queen's afternoon tea; it was quite a lot of food (4 sandwiches, 2 scones, a piece of cake, a pot of tea, slice of mixed fruit bread, and something akin to a cake pop). The others in our party enjoyed the cream tea, which consisted of 3 scones and a pot of tea. As we had had lunch an hour or so before, the cream tea was quite sufficient. All of the food was delectable. The service was friendly and prompt."See more

"We decided to book here for a late snack and drink after the theatre. There were four of us, we all had starters which were very nice, bruschetta, pate, calamari, salad, fries. Very good service, nothing too much trouble, they even arranged complimentary dessert plate with happy birthday for friend Rachel, I noted it on the reservation when booking."See more

"Everyone at Texture was keen to give us a dining experience. Staff are interested, knowledgable and genuinely friendly. The fish taster menu was exceptional - only the salt cod was my least favourite. The scallops and crab were original in food combination and every mouthful was a chance to savour new textures and taste combinations."See more

"I had been meaning to try Pakhtoon since noticing that it had replaced the rather uninspiring kebab joint that used to have the site. My expectations took a dip with the menu, which didn't seem terribly well put together (or error checked). But when the food arrived, it was a very pleasant surprise. The team in that kitchen can cook! The style is a little more 'home spun' than 'high street' Indian, and all the better for it. Tandoori salmon had great flavour, just enough char, but still moist and soft inside. Lamb curry, despite the nondescript name, was rich, with balanced, fragrant spicing; not at all hot. And the dal was deep and creamy, almost (but not) to a fault. It wasn't flawless - the plate for the salmon was far too small, making it tricky to eat, and the salad alongside it, dry and un-dressed - but mistakes were easy to forgive. If you're in the Marble Arch area, and fancy something more rewarding than the standard chains, and different to the many Middle Eastern places further up Edgware Road, Pakhtoon is well worth a try."See more
