Believed to date back to the 17th century the Horse & Groom was originally used to house local farmer workers, with the increase in horse drawn traffic using the old Hastings Road the property was utilised to offer weary travellers a place to rest and stable their horse ready for their onward journey. It then, and has to this date, become known as the Horse and Groom . Free of tie, the pub now offers the traditional country pub fair, set in the glorious surroundings of Rushlake Green, with its picturesque village properties encircling the village green, centre of the villages attraction and host to many winter and summer events. First time at Tonbridge Wells but another top class experience. From the first greeting by the reception staff to the unfortunately inevitable goodbye, it was a most enjoyable evening with great food and service in another beautifully decorated Ivy restaurant.

Again we had a very nice Sunday Roast,it’s an hour to drive but is well worth it, the portions are a good size and maybe one day we will get to a desert, definitely worth a stop by.
