Restaurants near Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum

First time eating at State which I read about in Eater. Everything about it was interesting and unlike any restaurant we’ve been too. The building is an old textile mill and the restaurant itself makes cool use of the industrial space with modern light fixtures, plants, stacks or books, visually pleasing and eclectic art, colorful local pottery and table linens. Our waiter was helpful, but the food was really outstanding, several dishes delivered to us by the chef who was very friendly. We had the carrots tartare which were smoky and crunchy and addictively good, the halloumi which was wonderfully salty and served with cherry tomatoes, the mussels in coconut milk broth and the eggplant steak. Each dish looked enticing and tasted unique and delicious. Despite being full we couldn’t pass up the cheesecake with sour cherry sauce. There were a few minor disappointments—red wine that was off, a handful of unopened mussels—but overall it was a fun, different and delicious meal at a reasonable price. Would definitely return!

Our meal at Noah’s was outstanding. The artichoke appetizer was the most delicious I’ve ever had, and we also loved the eggplant and meatballs appetizers. Along with the bread, that was our meal, and we brought home food. We highly recommend!

Ate in the courtyard on a beautiful afternoon. Food was very good to excellent. Portions were perfect for a luncheon. Very enjoyable dining experience.
