One of the oldest family-run businesses in the nation, now run by the fourth generation, Pete Berghoff. Today's Berghoff menus have evolved to add newer, lighter, and more contemporary dishes, but it's still the same old Berghoff, down to the famous root beer. Always a wonderful experience at the Berghoff. Besides the excellent traditional German food (sausages, spaetzle, sauerbraten), we had their homemade diet root beer and a their seasonal Altbier (a rare find). Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are quite fair, especially for the Loop.

The mussels were fantastic! Enjoyed my unique beer flight too. Great spot for a happy hour gathering with the combo of a bar/dining section with high tops and a dining section with regular tables a bit away from the bar. We will come back. Was perfect fit for our party of 10.
