Otium is a contemporary restaurant that draws from the rich culinary heritage of Timothy Hollingsworth. It is designed to be a social restaurant with a dramatic open kitchen merging indoor and outdoor spaces. The restaurant’s name, Otium, has its roots in Latin. A word that is meant to emphasize a place where time can be spent on leisurely social activities, both eating and drinking; adjacent to one of Los Angeles" most important cultural streets—Grand Avenue—and next to its newest, most vibrant addition, the contemporary art museum, The Broad. The restaurant draws inspiration from the 100-year-old olive trees planted in Broad Plaza by utilizing rustic cooking with live fire and sustainable ingredients grown in the garden of the restaurant’s mezzanine. Otium strips away the rigid formalities of dining while focusing on the quality of food, warm service, and relaxed casual ambience.

Mixed experience. Food was good, but one of our items was never ordered! No valet at valet parking stand for 10 minutes on arrival (evidently only 1 valet attendant for 2 busy restaurants!!)

Located at Conrad on Grand Avenue, Aqua Viva, owned by the renowned chef José Andrés, exceeded my expectations on every level. From the moment you step in, the restaurant's chic and upscale atmosphere sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The decor strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and comfort, with a coastal-inspired design that feels both fresh and inviting. The location, nestled in the Conrad, adds to the refined experience, making it a great spot for a night out in downtown LA. The service was impeccable. The staff was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. They provided excellent recommendations from both the menu and the wine list. Chef José Andrés’s influence is clear in the menu, which showcases a brilliant fusion of fresh ingredients and bold, innovative flavors. The menu offers a delightful array of choices that will satisfy those looking for something a little different. Aqua Viva at Conrad on Grand Avenue is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience in Los Angeles. Chef José Andrés has created something truly special here. I will definitely be back soon!

Everything was beyond spectacular. Service, ambience and taste of food was wonderful. One very small issue though, was this was listed in Open Table as a birthday celebration. At the beginning of the evening our server asked if there was a special occasion and we answered yes, a birthday celebration. After that, no mention of the event from the server.

We recently dined at Nick & Stef's Steakhouse to celebrate my sister's birthday, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The steak recommendations were spot on—our party ordered a couple ribeyes, and each was more than enough to share between 2-3 people. Some also tried the N+S burger, which was a hit with the truffle aioli. The sides were delicious and generously portioned, perfect for sharing. The cocktails were equally impressive; the pomegranate martini and Missionary's Downfall were one of a kind. To top off the evening, Nick & Stef kindly provided a dessert to help celebrate my sister’s special day, which was a thoughtful touch. For a party of 10, the price was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. We would highly recommend Nick & Stef’s Steakhouse to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.
