Restaurants near Washington Square Park, New York City

It was my first time trying this restaurant and it didn’t disappointed. I am definitely coming back, the ambience, the beautiful outdoor sitting were perfect for a special occasion with my friends. I highly recommend the Romeo e Giuletta pizza, The burrata, spaghetti a la Carbonara, etc. We had Milo as server, he was very attentive and knowledgeable.

Spectacular dining experience. Professional, friendly, on point staff. Octopus, lamb tongue, duck, and lamb chops were over the top. Overwhelming wine list but the sommelier simplifies our life! We chose this because we’d started watching all the Masterchef seasons and wanted to see if Joe’s restaurant met his high bar… so our bar was top tier. In most aspects, the bar was met. We sat a bit too near the kitchen so the path back and forth was a bit busy and it was loud, but everyone was joyful so that offset the noise. My daughter thought the tagliatelle with oxtail ragu was good but not breathtaking. I agreed, but everything else was incredible!

We love Il Cantinori. The food is excellent and the service is attentive, professional, and friendly. We cannot wait to return!

Food was incredible - highly recommend the perfectly cooked, very tender lamb chops. The meatballs and melt-in-your-mouth eggplant rollatini are reliably delicious appetizers. Whatever dessert is on the menu from their wizard dessert-maker is worth ordering - from the delicate tiramisu, the cream puffs and the cake and/or tart selection of the day. Everything on the menu is wonderfully prepared and you don't walk out feeling bloated.
