The fish cottage was perfect. We were sat in a comfortable area which was suitable for our little dog. The service was amazing and the food was to die for.

I rarely make reviews - this is an exception. We booked for a family birthday celebration and from the moment we made the booking David and his team made us feel safe and welcome. We have a number of food allergies and one of our party has significant anxiety about eating out. Communication around our booking and needs was exemplary. On arrival at the restaurant David explained the menu and presented all of the options available with empathy, knowledge and compassion. The food was wonderful, particular mention to the fish pie (more a beautifully cooked and stacked selection of fish and shellfish with the most delightful cream sauce than the traditional fish pie) and the Thai curry. The desserts were superb. We are looking forward to finding a reason to make the 2 hour journey for a return visit. What an amazing find! We were in Whitby on our mini-moon with our dog and needed a restaurant that would allow us to take him in. We arrived and the staff were exceptionally friendly, the food was amazing (would definitely recommend the lamb and scallops!) and the value for money was fantastic…we would highly recommend…you won’t be disappointed!

Chicken skewers and chowder are the best things on the menu according to my wife and me. Tasty and delicious. The garlic mushroom starter could be better with button mushrooms instead of large ones.
