What a wonderful experience!! Our first time to dine here and it was all that we had heard and then some. The professional staff made the experience, they were there when you needed them but not intrusive. It really makes a difference when you have professionals taking care of you!! The food and atmosphere were charming and very comfortable.

We will definitely go back as often as we can!!!

Having dined several times at L’Auberge we were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance of the patio. The tent and fans kept it cool and bug free on a hot day. As always the meals were delicious and the service impeccable.

L' Auberge Chez Francois is my favorite restaurant in the world. I am willing to take a chance during the Covid-19 pandemic for a dinner here because it is that amazing.

For outside dining, they have rented a huge tent with fans in the ceiling corners. Plenty of fresh air. Plastic walls can be pulled in case of rain. I was thrilled how far the tables were from each other outside and even inside, so it felt very safe. I saw one to three tables filled in the rooms inside where before there may have been 8 to 10.

I walked to see their gardens. They grow many tomato plants for their tomato salad and gazpacho, squash, cucumber 🥒, beans, and herbs.

I started the evening properly with the House Aperitif, champagne, Chambord and a raspberry.

We had two orders of the garlic bread to go with the cottage cheese spread.

A creamy split pea soup.

Waygu beef cheeks in sherry base, looked like a stew. The beef were so soft and tender that truly melted in your mouth.

Mixed green salad or garden fresh tomato salad.

Passion fruit sorbet to cleanse the palette.

I had the citrus lobster, and my husband got steak.

My husband had an organic blueberry tart with cinnamon ice cream. I had a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and took my dark chocolate tart home for use to enjoy for dessert tomorrow night

Chocolate truffles

L'Auberge Chez Francois is the most romantic restaurant in the United States. The staff, the service, the food and specialty cocktails are divine. If you have not been to Chez Francois you need to make a reservation today.

We had a delightful lunch celebrating my mom’s birthday, and both the food and service were impeccable. We sat outside, and they even gave us a special cabana. What a treat.

L'Auberge Chez Francois is just plain wonderful if you wish to impress your spouse. The food is beyond perfect as well as superb service even with covid-19 restrictions. David was the best waiter who thought of everything and surprised my wife with a delicious desert for her birthday after a Beef Bourguignon dish that tasted as if it we were in the best restaurant in France.

Perfect pandemic dining. Opted for patio with beautiful tent and fans. Nice large table for 4, with no one within 10 feet. Everyone in masks. Lovely service — never pretentious, just friendly professionalism. Food excellent. The Homard still crazy good. Soufflés did not disappoint. Not inexpensive, but huge value in my book when you want a fine dining experience while feeling super safe.

The sommelier service was not great. We would get our courses and be left waiting for our wine. The food runner was more helpful than our server. Our entrees were good, but not great. The soufflé was very good. I don’t think we would go back for the overall cost and service.

Outstanding menu coupled with outstanding, welcoming and friendly service cannot be beat. The courses were superb, especially enjoyed each course and garden fresh vegetables, straight from their garden.

L'Auberge was at its best and tables appropriately distanced
The tomato salad from the garden was a super seasonal touch
the garlic bread continues to be the best I have ever encountered
And nothing was diminished by the attention to Covid 19 guidelines

An exquisite dining experience. Definitely a bucket list item for those living or working in Northern Virginia and the DC area at large. The service was perfect and the food, especially the meats and desserts, were some of the best I have ever had (and I have been to several Michelin-starred and Beard award-winning restaurants). Highly recommended!

Anniversary dinner was one of our usual visits to Chez Francois. Everything was great except the wine which was a Virginia sauvignon blanc and not of the quality expected from Chez Francois. The lesson for me is don’t trust the sommelier.

It has been over 15 years since we dined here. We used to go at least one a year in the 70s, 80's and 90s. The restaurant does not now measure up to those memories. We felt rushed at times - need more time between courses to savor and discuss the food. When is the parking lot going to paved? It has been gravel since 1975.

Beautiful gardens and grounds! Best place in the DC area, hands down, for outdoor socially distanced dining. In August, when the restaurant's home grown tomatoes are on offer, the gaspacho and tomato salad are to die for. And, I love, love, love the soft shell crabs stuffed with lump crabmeat.

We felt so comfortable .
They took our safety into complete consideration.
It was one of the loveliest luncheons we have had in over 35 years of going to the Auberge.
No one should hesistant in today's atmosphere to venture out to the Auberge.

Dining at L'Auberge Chez Francois is like being treated royally. They take such good care of you. We always look forward to their famous cottage cheese dip to start with. They serve an amuse bouche as well. Ours was a little cup of fresh mushroom soup. If you have a choice of fresh tomato salad, order it. The tomatoes were fabulous. The prix fixe lunch menu price depends on the main dish you order. We chose the veal with Virginia ham and Madeira sauce. It was delicious. I always like the Lobster Bisque as a starter and the Chocolate Tart for dessert made with Valrhona French chocolate.

Celebrated my mother’s birthday as she loved dining here earlier. From the ease of making reservations through “open table” to the quality service and absolutely mouth watering dining experience this is a must for anyone who wants true French cuisine.
Their wine selection is impressive and we decided on a nice pinot to compliment our meals.
The fresh bread is amazing as are the garlic toast, we had a lobster bisque and French Onion soup which were delicious. The Caesar salad was perfect. Our entrées consisted of Beef Bourguignon that was oh so tender and served with seasoned organic vegetables. The Rainbow trout fillet served with organic vegetables with toasted almonds and lemon brown butter Jawas cooked perfectly and tasted magnificent. The Grand Marnier and raspberry soufflé for dessert was perfect light airy and delicious The waitstaff also brought a small chocolate truffle desert with a candle as we were celebrating a birthday. Almost three hours later, we were finished and so happy we chose to dine here.
Unfortunately it was raining so we could not walk their garden and park like setting outside, but we will be back very soon.
Well done to everyone there!

Excellent food and service in a great outdoor setting under a tent. We even had a severe thunderstorm, and they were able to close in the sides and keep everyone dry. Actually was fun being outdoors in the rain!

Everything was wonderful. We really appreciate every effort that the folks at L’Auberge made in order to create a safe dining experience! We sat outside under the tent. It was lovely. And very comfortable with the fans. My first experience at a restaurant in five months due to COVID. It was a treat!!
