We were celebrating our retirement and the restaurant lived up to our expectations! Service was great, food outstanding. Very enjoyable evening.
The food, the service and the ambience are always outstanding. This has become our go-to special events restaurant--and we keep inventing special events to go to. Went for a graduation event last night and they made it memorable for the graduate--and for the rest of us.
Excellent, friendly, informative wait staff. Easily accommodated our sitting outside tent area. Presented with an extra dessert to celebrate birthdays.
Great dinner overall. Two recommendations:
1) The wild halibut entree- it was delicious, however, the concentration of Parmesan was too much giving it a way too salty taste.
2) Le Kugelhopf en neige- the soft marshmallow could have a bit sweeter texture.
What a beautiful way to spend a Sunday evening and to celebrate a wonderful couple! Everything was perfect!
Great. Our first venture to a restaurant in over a year. Chez Francois continues it long record of excellence for food, service and ambiance. Our 57th wedding anniversary and they made it special.
Such a wonderful dining experience! I have dined here many times over the years, but this was the first time to take my teenagers, who all enjoyed it. Our server was fantastic (as always) and made the kids feel welcome.
It seems the quality and selection of food has diminished over the past two years. The atmosphere remains excellent - beautiful inside and out. But, with higher prices and poor food options/quality, I will not rush back to pay $500 for a dinner for four persons.
Unhurried and elegant, prices have gone up but still worth it
This is my favorite French restaurant in the United States! The service is impeccable and the food is delicious!!! The souffles are worth the drive alone!
Great as always . The lunch menu ha less entrees now, but may increase again soon.
Great place to spend few relaxing and enjoying delicious food
Everything was perfect except for the weather !! The resturant itself as well as the staff is warm and inviting — perfect for a chilly misty night !! The staff is vey knowledgeable and attentive . The food was of excellent quality and fresh — perfectly seasoned and prepared . I was pleased to an excellent California and French wines at quite reasonable prices
We have enjoyed dining here for over 35 years on many occasions.
Everything within the restaurant’s control was perfect. The only downside was the party near us decided to bring two toddlers to a fine dining restaurant.
Best meal I have had at a restaurant in many years
We ordered from the prie fixe lunch menu which had ample choices. The entree of the day was halibut and it was especially nice. I’m not sure the raspberry soufflé was worth the additional cost but it was delicious. Great way to celebrate our 56th anniversary.
What can I say? This restaurant deserves a 100 out of ten. Everything from food to service - sigh - I thought this was something that was no longer an option. Perfect, simply perfect. Thank you so much for an outstanding time, and can't wait to visit again.
You will never go wrong choosing L’Auberge. If you want to be delighted by excellence, this is your destination.
It was a disappointment. I had wonderful memories but this particular event was nowhere close to what I remembered. The food was way overpriced, the desert mediocre and the waiter attitude was bordering being rude.
I took my daughter out to celebrate her grades for the end of the school year. We were able to make a last-minute reservation for their outdoor dining, which was very nice. It was a great experience with outstanding food and service. I would certainly recommend L'Auberge to anyone looking for a fine dining option.
Chez Francois is consistently first rate. Our celebratory dinner was special and as always at Chez Francois, very enjoyable.
Waiter seemed new and tentative and his timing was off but gave him a pass, assuming he was new. The restaurant just seems a bit tired and could use some new menu items but realize someone’s favorite might go. It’s a 42 year tradition so we will continue to go there.
It was a special occasion of two long time friends getting together and everything was perfect.
Took a friend for her birthday and from being greeted as we opened the door to the time we left, we experienced delicious food and great service. If you want speed dining this is not the place for you. It’s intentionally slow-paced so you can relax and enjoy every course. One of my pet peeves when dining out is for the entree to arrive before you’ve had the chance to finish the appetizer or salad, so was very happy with the time between courses. I ordered the French onion soup, and was disappointed but the standard salad was very tasty and the rainbow trout was delicious. I also enjoyed the plum tart with cinnamon ice cream. We agreed that we need to dine at L’Auberge Chez Francois more often!
It is rather expensive, especially for lunch. But the food is absolutely delightful. However I think the corkage fee of $40 per bottle is too much.
We celebrated an anniversary lunch here. Service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. They did acknowledge the anniversary and served us a delightful piece of cake to help celebrate. Highly recommend!
As usual lovely lunch and the service was awesome! Never fails since the food items are so fresh! The Halibut was out of this world simple but well prepared .
Great Service and food. Always love the ambience and food service
Wonderful lunch on the patio celebrating our anniversary.
We ate lunch on the very spacious, covered patio in 91-degree weather. A light breeze kept us surprisingly comfortable. The food and waitstaff were outstanding, as always. It was a very gracious way to celebrate a special occasion.
Fabulous meal and wonderful service
It had been many years since we had driven out to Great Falls to dine at this well reputed restaurant. It far exceeded our expectations! It excelled in every way. Wish it were closer to town, but we will surely not wait so long to return.
Wonderful dinner with our family at Auberge. A fantastic start to getting back to fine dining after the pandemic. The food exceeded our high expectations. We all ordered different food items - for appetizers, the softshell crab special (a personal favorite of mine), the wagyu beef cheeks, French onion soup and the rocquefort tart. They were all delicious. For entrees one had the “smorgasbord” chef’s selection of beef, veal, crab and lobster, the lobster, rack of lamb and I had the halibut. The halibut, which could be viewed as a mundane choice, was elevated by being perfectly cooked and dressed lightly with a beurre blanc sauce. The house salads were exquisitely fresh (probably made with greens and herbs from the Auberge garden). The amuse bouche was a thimble of split pea soup. This would not have been my choice but it was good. The sorbet served mid-meal was refreshing. Finishing up, two had soufflés deemed magnificent (both the grand marnier and the chocolate), cheesecake and for me, my favorite plum tart with cinnamon ice cream. We started our dinner with aperitifs, including the Auberge special which was a sparkling wine with cassis (similar to a Kir Royale). We had a short walk down memory lane with the maitre’d as I had first eaten at L’Auberge in 1967 when it was on lower Connecticut Avenue near the White House. Still going strong since 1954 with consistent excellence. We can’t wait to return.
A great meal and experience
Fantastic experience. We ate in the main “upstairs” restaurant but in outdoors tent. Tables well spaced lots of air circulating due tnoncquiet fans. Superb service and food was magnifique! Great restaurant and glad to have it near us.
A beautiful & dinner !Highly recommend Chez Francois
Excellent food and service. Celebrated our wedding anniversary and were given champagne. A very thoughtful touch. You get what you pay for. Highly recommend.
I took my mom and sister out for lunch for their birthdays. The menu was very similar to what we remember from 30 years ago, not that we are complaining! The only issue was that service was really slow. While we weren’t in a rush, the four course lunch took three hours and it took a while to flag the server down to get the check.
Wonder as usual. We all met for the first time in over year. Memorable.
