Wonderful evening! Served delicious fresh, light, tasty food. Creative appetisers were a special treat. Excellent service - probably the best I have experienced in London. Great value for money having the £30 three course pre-theatre menu. We loved it and will return!

Absolutely loved our lunch at Launceston Place. I have been before for dinner but we booked the set lunch menu which was incredible value at £35 for three courses and a glass of bubbles.
The food was phenomenal and the service impeccable and fun. I can’t fault the waiters who were so friendly and helpful and when we said we were in a rush made sure we got through everything in time.
The restaurant can lack a bit of ambience, and it feels like everyone can hear what you’re saying but the food and service make up for that
Absolutely fantastic, can’t wait to go back.

Almost four hours to be served a meal . Not a problem if we had been informed . Seemed very short staffed . Food was good not outstanding . Wine pairings were very expensive (our choice ) My companion would know quite a lot about wine ,but we did not inform sommelier of this . Not good value and small measures .

The food was good although a bit gimmicky and the style of the food didn’t suit the surroundings.

The restaurant was very quiet and not much atmosphere. We were a group of 7 and the staff asked us to keep the noise down as another family had complained, which almost spoiled the evening.

There were about 10 courses and the time between them was long. We sat down for dinner at 7pm and didn’t leave until about 11.30.

We had a dinner to celebrate a birthday, which was a tasting menu plus paired wines. The entire dining experience was perfect, in terms of food, wine, and service in a quietly elegant atmosphere. The sommelier, Piotr, offered to give us a description of each wine, and he did a wonderful job of explaining the rationale for each pairing. We loved it all!

After a few disappointing meals at Launceston place, our most recent visit showed it was back to its very best. We had the pre theatre menu which is ridiculously good value. The freshest ingredients, handled with care and love made for a beautiful meal. Welcome back Launceston place!

Today was my birthday and had booked another restaurant which cancelled on us 10 minutes before the reservation. I immediately hopped on to OpenTable and by chance was attracted by the name and menu. We had a fantastic 3 course lunch with lovely surprise starters and small desert to finish. Every dish was exceptionally presented and absolutely delicious making this an unforgettable meal. We also came with our own cake which had been lovingly home made and they served it so elegantly. The service was impeccable and we loved every single dish. Will be back soon!

Outstanding food and very attentive service, it was a good choice for a special occasion. Would definitely recommend for friends. One small surprise was the music choice, found it to be a little too 'club music', but since it was at a moderate volume, it did't interfere.

Launceston Place is a perfect venue for a celebration: seriously inventive food, quirkily presented, and knowledgeable, attentive but not intrusive service.
We so enjoyed ourselves that we lost track of time and were not at all harried by the magnificently courteous staff.
Cannot wait to return!

The place is incredibly beautiful but the service is extremely slow, we had 4 courses menu and took more than 2 hours, considering the size of the dishes

The food is very tasty but definitively not enough.

We had starters from a la carte menu and the 3 courses set menu but still very small portions

In the other hand the service is superb

This was our second visit to Launceston Place. The first time we did the full tasting menu and this time it was the set lunch. The service was absolutely impeccable and the food was as good as on the tasting menu and included their amazing bread, and little extras (I wont ruin it in case it’s different on different days!) on top of the set menu. Would absolutely recommend to anyone and everyone!

Absolutely outstanding meal and service, really couldn't fault a single thing. The food was beautiful to look at, innovatively presented but above all delicious. The wine pairing was thtoughtfully chosen and explained in plain English (not always the case!) and service was attentive, polished, professional but unstuffy. Really loved Launceston Place and will definitely be returning and recommending.

It’s been a few years since we last visited, so pleased our old favourite did not disappoint. The new decor, and simplified menu, was a bit disconcerting at first, but we soon came to appreciate this more contemporary approach. Food was creative, presented with a sense of fun, and delicious. Service was top notch. Highly recommend.

It was a dinner for my birthday.

The food, the service and the value of the experience were much lower than we expected. Firstly, we spent almost 4 hours for the 8 course set menu. The tables that arrived later than us has got their course on before us at the end but my friends and I all finish each course with a relatively high speed. We arrive around 7pm and ended up as the last table of the day. Secondly, the service was slow and it often take us a long time to attract the attention from the waiter. My friend got his phone charged at the reception and it took a long time for us to have the phone back and they even brought us the wrong phone. Thirdly, we brought a cake to the restaurant since it was my birthday, the cake was brought onto the table very late with no birthday song, not even a knife. I have no idea how they expected me to eat the cake, with our hands? When I said that I'll bring it back home with me, they only put the cake in the box without wrap a rope, asking myself to wrap it back. Lastly, the overall service was disappointing, they gave new dishes even though we didnt have all the people back at the table. The table was not cleaned on time and new dishes come onto the table when the dirty plates are still left uncollected. Leaving the restaurant very late at night, the reception was chasing us to get out and leaving us waiting outside the door of the restaurant to find a taxi by ourselves.

Our second visit to Launceston Place was delightful. The perfect table by the window, excellent, friendly service and very good food - if the white asparagus had been fully ripe, we might have given it the top score. We dined on the ‘pre-theatre’ 3 course menu . . . until 10pm. This is a lovely place for a relaxing romantic night out. Super!
