Lawry's The Prime Rib - Beverly Hills
Business dinner for three. As usual, the food and ambiance were very good. However, the service was mediocre -- alternating between the server disappearing for long periods, and rushing us when the server did come to our table. Not the same Lawry's as in past years, and it was reflected in the many empty tables at the restaurant.
The food and service were excellent! It was a very nice place to eat with friends and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. The prime rib was so easy to cut with a butter nice. Very impressive and tasted great.
It was great. We went there for my birthday and everything was so perfect. Our server was very informative and kind to us.
As always, everything was outstanding at Lawry's. The prime rib is always flawless and sliced tableside. They have served the same side orders for 80 years and have them down perfectly. Over the years the menu has expanded, but 90% of the diners seem to stick with the prime rib (and rightly so).
The prime rib is absolutely delicious and melts in your mouth. We had a la carte slices of prime rib and two sides: green beans and asparagus. Both of the sides were delicious, but the portions were small. At $11, we paid more than $1 per stalk of asparagus. Drinks were brought quickly, and the gin martini was one of the best I've had. Our service was mixed to poor: the hostess was extremely pleasant and set the mood for us, but the table staff seemed scrambled, and they didn't communicate with each other. One person took our order, and their counterpart came to take our order again just a few minutes later, asking us if we were ready for our salad (which doesn't come with a la carte servings), and they regularly crossed wires for the rest of the evening. These were minor inconveniences to an overall wonderful experience.
Food and service is phenomenal
Holy Moly!! It's been about a year since I'd visited your flagship restaurant, the refurbished interior is beautiful. I missed the fresh potato chips in the waiting area. The new menu is a welcome change. While I go specifically for the prime rib, it is nice to know I can now take family/friends that will enjoy the ambiance as well as dine on something other than prime rib. I've enjoyed dining at both Five Crowns and Tam O'Shanter due to the varied menu at those locations.
My California End Cut was a little on the thin side, but flavorful and tender as usual. The creamed spinach and corn are the best side dishes. I opted for a baked potato, but it arrived late to the table and wasn't piping hot, I took it home along with half my dinner as I was saving room for Sticky Toffee Pudding. Imagine my surprise when it wasn't on the menu...I was thoroughly disappointed. I shared a slice of Coconut Banana pie which was delicious.
All in all a great evening.
Had a fabulous time on Saturday celebrating my husbands birthday. everything was wonderful.
took in three bottles, did not know the corkage fee was $30 per bottle. other than that it was fabulous.
Prime rib as it should be. Service perfect. Salad presentation perfect. Prime rib cooked to perfection.
The prime rib was so delicious. The service and the atmosphere were excellent. My family and I had a very pleasant dinner... we will definitely come back... Thank you!
Amazing. Perfect dinner.
Best meat i have ever tasted, outstanding service!
Best prime rib ever!
LOVED the new remodel and the new additions to the drink and food menus. Service was impeccable as always. Went for an early birthday celebration...I may return for my actual birthday; had a fantastic time. Our lovely hostess suggested adding a bit of the lovely seasoning salt to my prime rib; which in all my years of going there, no one has ever done. It only magnified my meal. I can’t wait to go back!
Hands down the best place for prime rib. I have friends that rave about House of Prime Rib in SF. I’ve tried it and it isn’t anywhere near as good as Lawry’s.
Great experience. Food and service was great. Celebrated dad’s 70th.
Good food nice server
This was our first time at Lawry’s! We’ve been to the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco numerous times and we felt the ambiance and the way the meals are done is very similar between the two restaurants. Our waitress was very nice and gave us little tidbits throughout the meal about Lawry’s and it’s history which we enjoyed. We weren’t here to compare the two restaurants by any means, but it was hard not to. The food was really good, the creamed spinach was an extra charge and was so so, the mashed potatoes were good, the prime rib was excellent!! I’m not a fan of Yorkshire pudding so I didn’t try that. All in all I would say that this place is very good, you definitely don’t leave hungry!!
Celebrated my 65th birthday, 9-8-54 with my two young adult daughters and son
in law. Been going there since I was a kid. We love the additions to the menu.
Worth every dollar!!!
It's always an event that has everlasting memories.
Left overs are awesome!!!!
Thank you to the Frank family and my dear friend John Heil, retired Lawry's Food Services
Can't wait to return!!!
Excellent place to celebrate special occasions. The food and service is always good.
It’s good as always! Our go to place for special family occasions.
I will be filing a formal complaint! On Saturday, September 7, 2019, we had reservation at Lawry's Beverly Hills for two Birthday Celebrations. I'm a VIP member and I had Bonus Gift Cards. I asked How many of the cards could I use. The server said it didn't matter. I stated I had seven. She stated I don't see why not, I could use them all. Five minutes later another lady came to the table. I think she was management because she did not have a uniform. She stated I could only use two of the Bonus Gift Cards. I responded ok. A this point all my guest were finished eating and waiting for me to take care of the check. Twelve minutes later, the lady came to the table again. She asked was I a VIP member? I stated yes it's on my reservation. Ten minutes later, the server came to the table and asked, what was the name on my VIP card. I stated Charlene Davis. Ten minutes later, the lady came to the table and asked for my VIP card. I gave it to her. Fifteen or twenty minutes later the lady finally came out with the check and told me where to put a tip on my receipt!!! While all of this was going on my guest thought I didn't have the money to pay and that my credit card was being rejected. When I went back into my purse for my VIP card it appeared I was getting another credit card. I was paying with a gift card that had a value of $700.00 which was purchased through Lawry's. I was embarrassed, humiliated, insulted, belittled and discriminated against by the lady. She probably felt she was being a good worker by hassling me. We were late for our reservation because one of my family members just found out she has cancer and we were convincing her to attend. It was her birthday. We had two birthday's one was on the reservation and one I called in. When it came time to sing happy birthday they on brought out one candle and cake. I saw the disappointment in the face of my aunt who has cancer. I immediately explained we had two birthdays. I'm not finished!!!
Nancy and Mark made the night for my gf’s birthday dinner and food is great!
We have been here before but are disappointed in what happened last Saturday night. We felt rushed throughout the entire meal. We were seated at a small table in the room behind the main dining room. Our table was not stable and "rocked" the entire time we tried to eat our meal. The side we ordered with our meal came out late when we were almost finished dinner. We were never offered coffee with our dessert. It seemed like the servers were rushing most tables to get a quicker turnover of customers since it was extremely busy. It was our anniversary and we had hoped for a better time. My partner is a VIP member and not happy with how we were treated on Saturday evening.
My husband and I were both quite pleased with our first visit to Lawry's Beverly Hills. We were here celebrating our 28th Wedding Anniversary. He ordered the Prime Rib (Lawry's is famous for) and I the 8oz Filet Mignon. We thoroughly enjoyed it. From the minute we drove in the parking lot to our Valet to Dessert 5 stars without hesitation. Our servers Nanci & Ignacio both top notch. Great experience. Would recommend 100%
Always a good time & Food at Lawrys
Food was great, service was a little slow because they were packed. Loving the new menu.
I have been going to Lawry's for over 20 years, and I have always loved their food and ambiance. They recently upgraded their menu and remodeled/redesigned the interior. It still looks elegant, though the feeling is a little different (I loved the way it was), but it is still very nice. The food is still delicious; the new items on the menu are simply delicious (as always), especially the lobster bisque! Their salad has always been one of my favorites, but now they have more salad choices. I like that there are more choices, thought I was happy with Lawry's the way it was...the only thing missing are the scalloped potatoes...they really should bring that back or add it to the sides. But all in all, I would continue to go for another 20 years!
We always go there for birthday and anniversary service and food always excellent.
Still the best! Went there for a birthday dinner. First time since the remodel and first in a few years. The prime rib is still the best around. Creamed corn and mashed potatoes were great complimentary sides. We had the sundae and the chocolate cake. I always get the sundae and it didn't disappoint. The almonds give it the perfect crunch. Thanks to the wait staff, the best duo I've ever met. And that's over 20 years of going to Lawry's.
Food and service was excellent as usual. The best "special occasion" restaurant there is.
Great food and good service, not great. Great in the bar, great being seated, but waitress was just ok. That’s the only problem with Lawry’s. Service can be hit and miss. Never poor, but at that price point expect great service every time. We drive over an hour to dine here and do so 4-5 times a year. Please step it up.
Still the best prime rib ANYWHERE. We recently went to House of Prime Rib in SF and it didn’t even come close to the perfection that is Lawry’s.
love the throwback to another lost elegant era and the consistently excellent prime rib, not to mention comfort, quiet, and rest of the meal ..all for a reasonable price compared to much of the competition.
Excellent service as always.
The food was excellent, Ismael is the best carver ever!
The table serve was average, no connection with server. My Platinum VIP awards card was included with credit card when paying the bill, however, I was not given award points.
I spoke to a manager who did give award points, but the incorrect amount. It was 3X’s the points that evening. When Joe Mercado came back, handed my receipt and walked away without saying a word. I approached him and said I didn’t appreciate the way I was treated. He said he was helping another customer. That’s fine, but he was rude in placing my card and points slip in my hand and simply walking away, I felt he had not ended our interaction in a business like manor. I did not feel like a valued patron.
The management staff that evening had a lot to be desired.
Lawry's is always a treat and this time was no different.
Thank you for the great service and quality as always.
Great new items on the menu just added to the overall
As always, the food and service is excellent. The greeting by your car personnel is so welcoming.
Looking forward to bringing my family of 17 in November
Lawry's is the place for excellent Prime rib, service & fine dinning
