Lovely food and service as always :)
We had an excellent meal - the food was delicious & the staff were very professional. It was unfortunate that we had a loud group table adjacent to our own who used some very colourful language & were not asked to moderate it for the rest of us diners.
Sunday lunch wasn’t that good. Very small portions and our beef was very fatty
I am what’s commonly known as a “foodie “ and all I can say is I haven’t been this disappointed in a long long time, starting with staff serving warm bottled beer when it’s 26 degrees outside and not having the sense to realise that the fridge was broken.
A crab starter that included what can only be described as crab sticks!!!!
A main of a lamb rack that consists of 1 1/2 lamb chops & a best end of neck chop thrown in
On a bed of a grey mush for the princely sum of £26
I’ve eaten in a lot better cafes for a lot less money
This place really needs to sort itself out or find a new Chef, I enjoy cooking at home and for someone with no formal training I can do a hell of a lot better than this trained professional
A Saturday evening totally spoilt, thanks Le Bouchon
Eaten here many times best food fir a long while. Not quite so busy as usual more care taken
Superb. 11 out of 10. Cannot criticise anything truth be told.
Professional, friendly, polite, good food. Nothing to dislike. Well done. We will be back.
An excellent fine dining experience. We reached the restaurant 45 minutes early but was welcomed and shown to the lounge where we ordered cocktails. The menu was shown to us so that we could take time to choose well before being shown to our table. We decided on the tasting menu along with recommended wines with each of the seven courses. The waiters were excellent - attentive, friendly but not intrusive. Each course including the wines was described fully as it was served. As would be expected the food was top notch presentation and taste. I was also impressed by the timing of service with just the right interval between courses. The atmosphere was refined and very relaxed and I would recommend it to anyone.
Excellent evening with exceptionally well cooked menu. As a vegetarian there was just one choice per course and although delicious more options would be welcome.
Very pleasant surrounding and service was excellent. Food very nice but quite small portions
would definitely recommend to friends.
Always a great experience, lovely food and great atmosphere.
Second time we have been to this restaurant and the quality is wonderful, for a special treat or night out you cannot beat it ... Thank you for makingour evening wonderful
This visit was a last minute choice to dine out as a couple on a Saturday evening. Been to LB a few times and never been disappointed. Food was great, as usual, and service was also very good. Thank you to both Sarahs for looking after us. We will be back.
Popped in from an impromptu mid week lunch and couldn’t have been more impressed. Very relaxed atmosphere in both the bar and the restaurant and the food was very good indeed. Will be back in the evening when i am sure it is a bit more lively.
Once again Le Bouchon delivered a superb dining experience in air conditioned comfort with lovely attentive staff a crisp white table linen.
A small group of choir members, we got together for a light lunch. We enjoyed both our starters and mains using the fixed price menu. We did, however regret the loss of the outdoor space for our pre-lunch drinks on such a glorious, sunny day.
Beautiful food as always and extensive drinks menu
I enjoyed a Saturday evening meal and was very happy. The service was very good but not pretentious. They avoided that irritating question you always get at a chain restaurant when they ask if everything is OK - you know they are just ticking the box.
The food is French cuisine - i.e small portions but that was perfect for me - I was able to enjoy the meal to the last bite . Last of all I liked the ambiance - it is a calm restaurant - no music to compete with and I didn't struggle to hear my guest over the conversation of other diners.
I am happy to recommend this restaurant.
On the negative side - £3.50 extra for bread! That was a bit of a cheek.
Special anniversary meal. The Tasting Menu did not disappoint. Comfortable bar area for pre dinner drinks. We had a great evening.
Lovely food - quail dish was very very good will defiantly go back just to have that again unable to find fault.
Wine - had a great selection
We can always rely on this restaurant for a really enjoyable meal. It may be a bit pricey, compared with others in the area, but it is worth the extra, especially for a special occasion. (We did not enjoy having a Magician coming around while we were eating but that is probably just a personal reaction - others seemed to be enjoying his performance).
As usual, excellent food and service, beautiful décor, calm atmosphere.
My birthday lunch food was excellent and great service
Myself, my son, daughter and her fiancé stayed at the hotel for one night, prior to my niece’s wedding at nearby Vaulty Manor. I booked the restaurant for us for dinner, as, after a long drive up from Cornwall, we didn’t want to have to go out again.
We were all very pleasantly surprised as we were expecting more of a bistro/casual dining experience. The food was lovely, the service very good, and it was the perfect end to a long day. I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a wonderful meal in a lovely setting, for whatever occasion.
Out for birthday treat and the manager on duty was brilliant and really spoilt us
An occasional meal with friends was our reason for our visit. My husband and I eat here sometimes and had recommended it to them. We enjoyed pre dinner drinks and thoroughly enjoyed our meals-
Fantastic food served by friendly attentive staff in comfortable surroundings. A wonderful evening.
Had been looking for a special venue that offered wine pairings with multiple courses. This fitted the bill superbly.
I have dine here on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed with the quality, presentation and taste of the food. This visit was no exception. The staff are very friendly, efficient and courteous. The atmosphere during lunch was peaceful and relaxing. A great all round eating experience.
It's my second time at Le Bouchon. I took some friends for a birthday treat.
We first had coctails at the bar and we were allowered to take our time while choosing our three course meals from the menu.
The staff were very attentive & pleasant . The Food was excellent as always.
I had the millefeuille for starter followed by the crakling pork with vegetables and the crepe for dessert. Excellent!
My only complain was that I asked for the message 'Happy Birthday Jane 'to be written on the dessert plate of my friend. The waitress asked out loud who was Jane which spoiled the surprise which was a great shame . Some subtetly would have be nice.
We still had all a pleasant time in a relaxing atmosphere.
I will come go again without hesitation.
We had a first class experience at Le Bouchon. The service was faultless, immediate, friendly, relaxing but very professional. The food got better and better with each course, and I would say the highest quality meal we have had for some considerable time. We found the selection of specialty Gins particularly good. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.
Very good food well presented and service was friendly
Normal high standard, keep up the excellent work! Careful attention to gluten free options for one of our party
Another delightful meal at our favourite restaurant. A creative and skilled chef with great ambiance.
From the first moment we walked through the door, your service, care and attention was second to none. The food was outstanding and the entertainment wonderful. We will definitely come again.
Always a faultless experience. Out favourite place to dine. We have recently moved to West Mersea but will always dine at Le Bouchon. Thank you.
Excellent as always and so glad the magician is back! Really adds something to a Sunday afternoon lunch. We’ve always found the staff to be more than accommodating and although it’s not necessarily a restaurant designed for children they always make an effort to make them feel welcome. Mine love the bar staff making them mocktails
Excellent menu very creative lovely atmosphere good service without being overbearing beautifly presented dishes an all round great dining experience.
A lovely venue, we have been a few times and every time we are blown away by the outstanding service we receive. We took our 9 year old for the first time this visit and he loved it too. Highly recommended.
Been to Le Bouchon many times and always feel welcome, good selection of beers and excellent standard of food.
