Le Caprice London
Wonderful place, old school charm and service, acoustics not great . Meals average, pricey but worth going to, for the experience
Beautiful old school glamour interior. Stunning bar and live piano. Welcoming friendly staff. Food was superb. Amazing evening catching up with old school friend in style
I normally have a lovely meal here however , this time was ruined by an obnoxious rude sommelier . I had ordered a £40 bottle of Malbec and asked for it to be served in large glasses. My mother and i always appreciate good quality glasses and enjoy Malbec. The sommelier looked surprised and being friendly i just said I think it always tastes better out of nice glasses. His response astounded me ,turning his nose up he said 'you are having a Malbec it will not make any difference at all ' . Again i said I like drinking out of nice glasses and he then said yes for a decent wine it makes a difference. I said well this is what i can afford and what i wish to spend and in fact it is a lovely wine . I was totally embarrassed and felt really uncomfortable . They should not serve wine that they feel is of poor quality and does not merit a good glass if that is what the customer requests . His attitude seriously upset me .
Other than that the crab tempura was lovely and the Fish and chips delicious.
The food was better than expected, especythe cod with octopu. The service was poor - we waited for drinks several tines, despite reminders. Incredibly noisy, making conversation very difficult. There are better places to spend this amount of money
Excellent from every aspect.
Were at Bocconcino day before and had the complete opposite experience so will never return there!
We had an enjoyable evening in a vey pleasant atmosphere. Would recommend it to a friend
Ate from the 3 course set menu but food was disappointing. Well cooked but incredibly simple and uninspiring.
We went to the Caprice for a birthday celebration. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We had a wonderful evening.
Very nice . Food was hot and fresh . The Deal was outstanding for the worth. Definitely will go again .
Staff were very attentive.
The food is excellent. Ambiance laid back, stylish but informal. Went for a birthday Sunday brunch. Great choice of a la carte, from brunch style, sunday roast and staple house favourites.
Haggis bon bons (3 x small!) and twice baked cheese souffle were starters of choice and very tasty. But we then had to wait 45 for mains and no one came to advise or apologise. Had to chase them up twice about it. Eventually maindscame - roast beef, salmon in miso, and lobster and crab sandwich. All delicious, but we were starving by then!
Turns out two chefs called in sick. The MD apologised eventually - think he had been covering in the kitchen, but there were plenty of waiting staff who could have advised us and perhaps offered a drink on the house during the wait, but nothing.
We were given a complimentary dish of berries with hot white chocolate sauce for dessert. On querying the delay they did give a £10 discount.
Slightly spoiled our day, and lunch was a protracted affair as a result. But I would recommend and return as food is excellent.
It is always a pleasure to go to the Caprice. It’s been a family favourite for 40 years!
Great food, warm friendly service, will definitely be going back 👍🏻😊
This was a birthday celebration which the restaurant recognised with birthday chocolates which was appreciated. We all had the 3 course set menu but as has been mentioned by other diners the mains just needed a side dish. Restaurant was nearly full for sunday lunch but service was not compromised in anyway
Went for my wife's birthday with some friends. We had the set 3 course menu with a glass of champagne. Everything was very tasty and the wine was great. The only one thing that I would have liked was that they pointed out that our main dish didn't come with any sides. There were non on the menu but it would have been nice if the waiter had asked if we wanted any. We had Chicken milanese, which was large and very nice, but it only came with a handful of rocket leave and a few parmesan shavings. Aside from this, everything was lovely. We'll be going back again.
Birthday lunch for my father. Food good and pleasant atmosphere - very old school. Service a tad rushed and some unnecessary interruptions of our conversation tainted the experience. It’s not cheap either, even with the fixed price menu.
Still a treat!
Good value lunch deal - comfort food with a glass of champagne thrown in. Service was lovely but decor is looking a little ‘90’s and noise levels quite high despite a less than full dining room.
Birthday lunch for four of us, opted for the 3 course set lunch & a glass of champagne, everything was fabulous, the food, champagne and the wine we chose was very good and reasonably priced. Service was exceptional and they gave me a birthday treat of petite fours which was lovely touch.
Will def go back soon.
I asked for a quite table and we were given one, that was a plus point.
The food service everything was great, I hadn’t been there a while but the standard was the same as years ago.
I love the place.
Unlike on previous occasions, we were disappointed by the table assigned (in a corner and very warm), as well as a couple of the dishes: the shrimp burger was tasteless, and the sea bream was swimming in oil.
Fabulous restaurant; beautiful decor, food delicious and generous & the staff were welcoming & very friendly...we felt very relaxed & pampered....I thoroughly recommend this venue.
Excellent open table set lunch great choices and service.
Food was amazing, especially the risotto
Good service and hospitality
Pre-Christmas Sunday lunch with friends. Food was delicious and service great. Such a lovely atmosphere at Le Caprice - relaxed yet smart.
Lovely restaurant. We go there every time we visit London from Boston
A great international menu and clientele in London.
Lives up to its storied reputation and then some. Noise level is on the energetic side, but its all good fun.
A very warm welcome from the lovely man on arrival. The food was excellent, great service, great ambience whilst maintaining a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
The evening was ruined because of an incredibly noisy table next to ours. Although I mentioned this to our waiter nothing was done to address this sensitively.
Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic service and delicious food.
We couldn't hear the music which was disappointing .
Very good and thank you
Its just a great restaurant, food service all 5 Star
We will return
Always a good place to have dinner. Great food and service- wine list could improve a bit to complement the food.
Awesome , wonderful service , beautiful food .. perfect
Fun spot. Good food and service and wine. Best of all is the cocktail pianist
Consistent excellent food always . The new additions to menu were excellent
I've been coming here for decades but this evening wasn't good. A glass of St Veran £17? My main course of steamed sea bass was so salty there was little else to taste. As I was the guest I couldn't complain. The service too was shambolic, they seemed to be in chaos and much running around with curt nods of 'yes, we'll be with you in a moment'. We asked six times to order a desert and finally gave up and asked for the bill instead. They were profusely apologetic, took the starters off the meal (which was generous but not really the point). Once that feeling of unease and impatience enters a meal the relaxation and pleasure have gone.
Great evening, great atmosphere and amazing food with perfect friendly service. Try the beet salad for starters and roasted Thai sea bass for mains. Finish off with the honeycomb ice cream. Would go back just for that!
The most charming staff in London and the best atmosphere
