Le Garrick - Covent Garden
Sunday 12pm - 5pm
Covent Garden, Leicester square and Trafalgar square station.
From buffet to table service, open bar to cash bar. kids area with nanny on request, dj, music band.
Having Le Garrick to you and your guest is quiet a feeling when you are downstairs. Check the album craigs birthday, It'll speak for itself.
We were a little underwhelmed on arrival, the restaurant is not terribly smart and it was rather empty. However we warmed to it as our food arrived, which we were very happy with, and the restaurant began to fill up and have a little more atmosphere.
Wonderful meal, great service. Have eaten here before and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend.
Great ambiance (especially if you are a Francophile) and good quality food and wine. There are aspects it could definitely improve (more non-meat options - the goat's cheese salad is fab, but I need a change! (risotto a bit boring) and I HATE that it serves foie gras (I know it is a french restaurant ... but in this day and age .... really?) Despite these points - a good restaurant and dining experience.
Food and wine was great.
The air con wasn’t working so it was extremely hot and sweaty in the restaurant which meant we left earlier than planned.
Love this restaurant. Great Steak Frittes in the heart of Covent Garden.
The food was very good. Our server was also friendly, and professional. The overall ambience was quite charming, it reminds me of a classic French bistro.
Nice little venue, the parents and I enjoyed it! Very busy on a thursday night but the service was still good. Would recommend!
Another wonderful lunch at Le Garrick. Completely faultless in every way x
Good atmosphere, friendly staff, good food. A good night our with friends
Outstanding. I went in a date (with my girlfriend) to Le Garrick and we both were extrmely satisfied. The service was wonderful, the food was great and at a really good price. For sure I will recommend this place to my friends.
Note: The staff is french and not rude. It really makes you reconsider the topic ;)
The food and the ambience were both exceptional. Our waitress was fantastic, my girlfriend and I had a wonderful evening!
Most enjoyable and will definitely return
Good food, nice staff, the pre theatre menu was good. Small upstairs but very nice place to eat
Wonderful experience in this restaurant! The beef tastes very well and I strongly recommend it to other one who want to come here. An unforgettable birthday dinner.
Good quality of food .
Staff was extremely friendly and efficient.
Friendly staff and good food. Good atmosphere, busy so had a nice buzz. Very reasonable, would recommend.
Perfect for our ore theatre prix fixe dinner. Friendly and helpful staff.
I used to eat here a few years ago and it was a real gem in the west end. Great location, Straightforward french cuisine done well and great service. Sadly things have deteriorated a fair bit. The food was mediocre at best and service was passable. It's still in a great location and if you want to avoid the chains, then you could do worse.
Celebrated my parents anniversary here and had such a fantastic experience.
We arrived early but were found a table straight away in one of the nooks, a very lovely spot to be seated.
The service from there only got better, attentive and friendly staff who took an interest in you and enjoyed looking after you. My wife is pregnant and they congratulated us, said we’d make fantastic parents and hugged us on the way out. Such a lovely touch!
So on to the food... we all enjoyed every bite of our food, the confit duck, cassoulet and beef bourguignon were really really tasty. The escargots, tarte au citron and creme brûlée were also sensational.
I now have a new favourite restaurant and will definitely be back. The only improvement that I can think of would be to have fondue instead of baked Camembert and add more moisture to the madeleines (tiny changes really to an otherwise perfect experience!)
Food was disappointing which marred all other aspects of our visit
We were looking for something different than the normal pubs that we had been visiting during our visit to London, so we thought that this French country restaurant would be a nice change of pace. Because of its location, it seems to cater to the pre/post theatre community and as a result, they made a point of explaining the "time limit" at our reserved table.
The food was OK, but not really remarkable. My husband had a steak and I had chicken - the steak was somewhat bland and the chicken was overcooked. Service was above average for the area, so that was nice. We had been hoping that it wouldn't be too noisy for quiet conversation, but the closely placed tables on a busy Friday night meant that we had a hard time hearing each other. The prices were very reasonable, so it turned out to be fine for our dinner together, but wouldn't be a good "special occasion" destination.
Not bad, reasonable venue, but food lacking. Expected more.
Best french cuisine outside France!
Great find. Centrally located between the theatre we visited and Leicester Square tube this was a perfect spot. Our waitress was very attentive and everything arrived to us very promptly but not rushed. This was not somewhere I would usually book but we chose it for convenience. We were very happily surprised and pleased with the result. Great value. Food was delicious. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Amazing food as always, lovely staff!
I love it here!
Great food and service as always friendly ,polite, the food was up to it’s superb service
Great little place for pre-theatre meal!
Good French choice of menu; likeable ambience and very good service.
A return to a pleasant French authentic restaurant, and an enjoyable, reasonably priced lunch.
Pretty average for a bistro. There are better places to eat in the area. I found the baby chicken over cooked and therefore quite dry. Wine selection was good.
We went for an early dinner for our 51st Wedding Anniversary 18/Aug. The reception at the door, and the attention of the servers was first class. When Ip pointed that our table had no red rose as most othere had, this was immediately put right. There was a good choice of food, and the confit of Duck was first class, as the Cahors Malbec wine. We thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hours we spent there, it was definitely the best dining experience of our 4 day stay in London. A bonus was the unexpected digetive at the end of the meal brouth to us by 2 waitresses who toasted our anniversary with us. Merci beaucoup mesdames.
My daughter and I met for a get together and pre theatre meal. We wanted an authentic French meal, and were not disappointed. There are not many old fashioned, unadulterated restaurants left in London where you can get back to basic, genuine French food, and we really enjoyed it. No fussy, noisy, garish decor, just delicious food in original surroundings.
We have been to Le Garrick quite a few times and have never been disappointed. If we are thinking of popping up to town for a nice lunch Le Garrick is high on our list. It's like going to Paris without the journey! Good food, good service and excellent wine!
Nice place, terrible food. The service was fast though
Lovely early-evening meal once again. Highly recommended
Lovely evening so relaxed but lively atmosphere, cosy setting, and lovely attentive staff...
Even though I'm not from London, every time i visit Le Garrick, it feels like I've come home! The food is exquisite, the wines always an excellent compliment to the food, and the staff that makes one feel like part of the family. This is true French Country dining. Whenever I'm in London I pay a visit, at least once! Go and enjoy a delightful and satisfying evening!
Nice people but food sub-par. Mussels were okay but bad bread and the scallops were terrible
Food was excellent and staff was lovely! We'll definetely comeback
Johanna is the most wonderful waitress. A true gem.
