Why Le Gothique? Well, was there any other possible choice for a restaurant and bar set within the glorious surroundings of Wandsworth’s Grade II listed Royal Victoria Patriotic Building? A magical setting for special occasion dining, Le Gothique Restaurant and Bar offers flexible dining and drinking in beautiful surroundings all week long, impeccable service and a superb French menu. Imbued with all the atmosphere that comes with a history that includes time spent as a Victorian orphanage and the war time headquarters of MI5, Le Gothique is classically appointed to make the most of the original framework of the building, from the mezzanine restaurant to the bar below and out in to the large courtyard with its covered seating area. Very traditionally French, Le Gothique’s realistically priced menu offers numerous Gallic favourites from throughout the culinary regions of the country that spawned fine dining.

Birthday dinner for wife. Nice food and great service. It was very quiet on a Tuesday night. The location is a bit out of the way.

Really good food. Lamb was amazing.

Empty restaurant for most of our meal, this is probably due to the location of the restaurant. Waiters were nice enough.

Disappointing with regards to being stuck in the corner of an almost empty restaurant, lacked any ambience, but quality of the food makes this an above average restaurant.

This restaurant is a hidden gem, the staff are lovely and attentive. The chef was excellent in accommodating dietary requirements. We had a lovely evening and would definitely return.

Quirky place, loads of character, friendly service and tasty food. Must be good in summer thanks to patio. Will check it out !

Having struggled, as other diners have mentioned, to find our way into the restaurant, we were delighted by the beautiful garden on a fine summer's day. The food was interesting, original and well presented. The service, though friendly, was amateurish in the extreme: the wine list being removed before our order being taken was one of many examples. Nevertheless, the quality of the food and the delightful outdoor setting made it an enjoyable experience.

Average food for an exciting name.

Ok for a bite to eat if passing or near by.

Average service and good food. Turn up the quality and it'd be a nice place to visit.

Loved it, and they were so good to my group. I surprised them by booking a table for 15 at the last minute, and they were so chilled about it. When they found out that it was a wedding party, they went out of their way to accommodate us, and they did it perfectly.

A stunning venue, with very warm team, that added to my special day.

I will definitely be going back.

Food was good and the place was pretty busy as it was Valentines day, service was pretty chaotic though. Staff were clearly trying hard but it was a bit headless chickens though! Shame because otherwise was nice and would def go again

Upon confirming my booking I was told that we would have a great experience at Le Gothique, unfortunately this was not the case. The food service was rushed, lacked any semblance of customer care on a special evening and the food was not high quality.
Overall I would not recommend this venue to anyone particularly on Valentine's night.

Went for my mother-in-law's 71st birthday with three children (aged 7,8 and 2). We sat outside and it was very relaxed. Food was excellent. Service very friendly. We all loved it and stayed for most of the afternoon. Definitely recommend.

We went to Le Gothique for our wedding anniversary and sadly it didn't live up to our expectations. On a sunny Friday evening no outdoor seating was set out and we were taking to a table next to a large group of people and children running around. To add to that the waiting staff forgot glasses, wine list and menus, the menu list was limited - so disappointing after viewing their website menus. The food presentation was poor and the way the food was cooked was average. This all said, the outdoor setting was beautiful - just a shame they didn't set up?! Felt like a huge missed opportunity. This place could be amazing with bags of ambiance and buzz - sadly it does not. Weddings must be incredible, but don't come here for a special occasion.

My wife and I had a lovely time at this restaurant. We arrived a bit early as we had a show booked for later so the place was completely empty. However it soon filled up and the atmosphere picked up. The service was outstanding, the staff was well presented and they never lacked a welcoming smile and were very attentive all night without being suffocating. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our pre-dinner drinks at the bar. It's a small venue however it has plenty of intriguing ambience. There was plenty of parking space too.

We got married in Le Gothique/Royal Victoria Patriotic Building, so it has a soft spot in our hearts. I was really excited about going for new years eve but was ultimately a bit disappointed. The food was mediocre - beef wellington over cooked, dry looking salmon, tart tatin that had no caramel and looked bought in. Also the service was scattered - mixed up orders and unbelievably and unnecessarily brusque and quick, given the table wasn't being turned over - we had eaten 3 courses inside an hour, they brought the mains before the starters had been completed. So, all in all wasn't the great experience I was hoping for.

Le Gothique in Wandsworth is sited in a very unusual building with history. It can be confusing finding the entrance but obce there, well worth it. Staff. menus, food excellent and good value for money. Sadly no sunday lunch but would go again.

My partner and I went to Le Gothique on Tuesday evening and when we arrived were greeted warmly by the young waiter. I had my resavations about le gothique from reading previous reviews. However I was very pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was lively, the waiter warm and attentive and the food devine!!! We shall be coming back very soon! Thank you team le gothique. :)

Very disappointing. Food only mediocre. Service and ambience - appalling!
We asked for Prosecco and got Cava - then when we politely questioned this - we got told 'don't worry, we'll only charge you the same price as the Prosecco' (even though Cava was cheaper!).

The 2 young men serving were more attentive to their mobile phone apps and knocking back shots, than they were to the customers.
Need to change their staff!

This is a slightly strange venue in the middle of nowhere in an amazing building! Unfortunately it was a bit quiet on a Saturday night - maybe a better venue in the summer?
