As always quality and service excellent!
My wife booked the restaurant as part of a 20th Anniversary present which included a stay nearby at La Lit (an SLH Hotel) - we went later and opted for the set menu which was good value at approx £35 each for 2 courses. The starter was lovey - huge fresh prawns the main looked lovely (chicken) but was lukewarm - we asked for it to be hotter and it arrived back 10 mins later exactly the same - the manager then stepped in and sorted it and we received a piping hot and lovely tasting dish. There was no acknowledgement of the occasion even though my wife had told them (the week before we had dined at Coq D'Argent and had a lovely surprise of a birthday dessert (it was my friend's 50th). To be fair the manager did come and apologise and gave us a glass of champagne each and promised to get it sorted in future.
Lovely position by the Thames. Good food and choice of wine. There were patio heaters if you sat outside which were very efficient. Would recommend this restaurant with super views of Tower Bridge.
Great food, great service, great location!
Great food - lovely dining room, view of Tower Bridge and good value thanks to Evening Standard deal
Very cold as the restaurant had an outside bbq which meant that doors and windows were open and the freezing wind was blowing in. Not ideal fir a cosy lunch.
Lovely, as usual. Delicious prawns !
Service very slow despite restaurant being nearly empty. Food disappointing. General lack of attention to everything - even dirty finger prints on mirrored walls. This used to be one of the most reliable, high quality experiences in London. So disappointed.
We had the £30 Evening standard menu which was great value for money and more than sufficient sized portions for a 3 course meal. The terrine was a huge portion and across the table we had both chicken & fish options, all of which were perfectly cooked and presented. The creme brûlée was delicious and the chocolate fondant looked equally good. Combined with the usual high standard of service, we had a very enjoyable celebratory dinner.
Good in many ways, service patchy with some waiting staff.
Great restaurant for outdoor dining
Outstanding, amazing food, ambiance and view. Love this restaurant and will definitely be returning.
awesome setting on balcony overlooking tower bridge. food was very good, had special fish menu - cod cooked perfectly
I'm afraid this is the first time I write such a disappointing reviewing. I have been to Le Pont de la Tour before a few times and had enjoyed food. Hence when I booked the table to treat my high school friend's family who I haven't seen for 10 years, I didn't hesitate to go to Le Pont de la Tour. I had confidence in the food and service there and they had expected to experience some amazing food.
The big mistake clearly was to go for the Evening Standard menu. It's understandable when they create a more affordable menu, choices would be limited. But I was literally embarrassed when the main course was presented to my guests. The portion was so small that I wouldn't believe it was meant to be main course. Tiny pieces of chicken and cod. On kid's menu, the tomato salad with avocado was literally tomato and avocado with hardly any sauce or taste to it. The chocolate fondant and frozen yoghurt was yummy but literally one spoonful.
Food on the plate spells "yeah you went for a £30 set menu and there you go you ashamed yourself by making such choice". I left the table, paid nearly £150 for 3 Eventing Standard Meals and a kid's meal. Guess what? I bought myself deep regrets and embarrassment.
I wish someone in the restaurant can read this and tell me why a £30 per person meal is delivered in such an appalling quantity??? As a repeat customer, I was utterly disappointed.
A very quiet and relaxed atmosphere in the main restaurant on a wet day. Service was efficient and friendly and the steak superb. No rush or bustle. Excellent
Lovely meal with the best pomme purée I’ve ever tasted 😋. Quality from the starter to the dessert.
The food outweighs the service. You’re definitely paying for the setting and view.
They’re charging high end prices with service no better than a pizza chain. Wasn’t impressed with the sommelier either who when asked to recommend a wine to go with our main, asked us what we liked. Surely it’s his job to suggest? I suspect he knew about as much as me about wine.
Still, it will continue to be popular but there are far better places in London to spend your money.
Service was very poor. Not what we expected. Server was very disinterested in our needs and our attention. Have to say the food was very good.
Outstanding restaurant with a great wine list, food and service - great with food allergies - a “must dine”
Our birthday with my husband and our anniversay are on the same day and we chose there to celebrate. We really enjoyed the food and ambiance and service. They had a surprise for us at the end.
I’ve been a few times and it’s always been great but this visit was let down by poor service. It feels like there’s been some changes behind the scenes in the last 18 months. Eg Taster menu with wine pairing gone, that was the reason I went back. Food was good but rest let it down including being refused a post desert drink as it was past 11 yet we hadn’t ordered as the staff were no where to be seen and had generally been unattentive all evening. ( and Despite lots of people still drinking and talking around us)
Great anniversary dinner
Asked to see the sommelier but the request was not passed on. The bread arrived 10 minutes after the starters, finger bowls then arrived after everyone had already gone to wash their hands. One of the salad starters had 4 ingredients but came out with only 3 on the plate with the 4th rushed out practically at the end of the course.
And the waiter kept spilling the wine when pouring it!
We had a wonderful birthday lunch at Le Pont de la Tour - food, service & ambience were excellent - will definitely return.
Very disappointed with the food. We ordered the pre 18:30 fixed price menu but the chicken option that we both chose was not good at all. Wasted visit to a restaurant - a MacDonalds would have been nicer.
We told the waitress to inform the chef of our disappointment but heard nothing back. The chocolate desert was OK but the wine massively overpriced. Such a shame used to be a wonderful restaurant!
Very good place
A long time diner at this restaurant, I have to say I was disappointed with my experience. The bar service was very slow, and the only thing that made our time at the bar enjoyable was when another barman came on helped us. The food was excellent as always, but the restaurant neglected to bring our side dishes until well after we had finished the main course, which of course defeats the purpose.
I will go back, as I hope this is a one time problem.
Very noisy, food are fine.
Our 5 year anniversary and our first trip to London! The setting is absolutely gorgeous!
I always love Le Pont de la Tour, the food is lovely ( if pricey), the ambiance is great -either inside or out and the view is iconic. Whenever we have visitors from outside the City we take them to this restaurant and it is a guaranteed hit. If the weather is good you couldn’t ask for a better venue to sit outside (and I have tried a whole host of them over the last 25 years!) Highly recommended
Great service, staff excellent, food good value, wine less so but overall a lovely experience.
Very nice dinner with friends
Great service and good food!
Food v good (chicken melted in mouth), sommelier lovely, waiting staff a little erratic in approach (orders not taken for a long time, and then suddenly in a slightly abrasive manner)
Had a wonderful evening ! Sat on terrace, really lovely views, good service and good food, they gave me a birthday plate which was very nice! Will go again for a special occasion.
I have not been here in a couple of years. Service has always been a bit slow but this wasnt really an issue for us as we were friends catching up and we had nowhere else to go. Food waa lovely and staff friendly. The views of the river and tower bridge is the main reason to dine here i think.
Overall very enjoyable. Some minor hiccups with a junior member of staff disagreeing over a dish she brought. Sorry to labour the point but staff shouldn't tell a customer that a dish of new potatoes are roast potatoes when they patently aren't. I don't mind a mistake, what I mind about is a waitress telling me I am wrong. Thankfully it was taken care of by the excellent maitre'd but did an a a totally unnecessary wrinkle to a lovely evening
From beginning to end we had a superb evening. Celebrating someone's birthday can be treacherous if you pick a restaurant off form. This was not the case. The welcome bright and friendly, calm as we celebrated a bit longer in the bar followed by excellent food and service. A special thanks to Alex on the wine, helpful and attentive. My thanks to an excellent establishment.
