The food was okay, the view (outside anyway) was nice! We were sat in the bar part, which felt like an old mans pub. The tables, wine glasses & general setting were really quite odd. This is quite confusing when booking, I did say to the waiter but he simply said he’s never had any problem with their booking system before.
The menu is quite limited, especially for vegetarians. I had mozzarella arancini, which is such a peculiar main to have on a menu in a French restaurant.
Price was fine, but I’m not sure everyone would be happy to pay a premium price for the bar setting.
I don’t think we’d come back & if we did would be sure to book in the main restaurant part.
the terrace at either the restaurant or bar is a perfect place to meet and socially distance from friends.
Beautiful restaurant lovely setting sitting out by the river food was lovely and presentation was excellent and staff very helpful
Fantastic experience! Was very well looked after and Manager Ian was very personable and provided excellent service with help from his lovely staff. Will certainly be back!
Disappointing compared with many occasions before. Stake was of very low quality. Service was very good and they were trying their best. But the price was really far off the quality of the good. Nothing like it used to be. Shame as it used to be one of my favourite places to go out for dinner with friends.
The restaurant was quiet on a Saturday evening, with only a modest number of tables occupied. From the door the restaurant looks tiny but there is a much more open section to the rear. this leads on to a very attractive outdoor area. This is not reflected in the website and the owners should look at this.
The service was attentive and helpful. The food was outstanding. We were four and everyone had something different for starter and main course. As a pasta course, we ordered two portions to share. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted just as good. The chef deserves special mention.
We had an excellent meal and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We would all happily return.
An excellent meal, a peaceful ending to a very busy and energetic day in a good setting (internally and externally). (Evening Standard promotion used.) Recommended.
Great food and ambience, brilliant offer for 3 delicious courses with a glass of wine in beautiful setting - all in all a great find for a very nice dinner.
Was disappointed with the service - the main waiter who served us would only speak to my husband and wouldn’t refer to me, which was pretty outrageous given the booking was in my name. Found his behaviour extremely rude and impacted what would have been a very nice evening.
I am a regular at Le Pont de la Tour Bar & Grill, so it's difficult to find anything new to say that I've not mentioned in my previous reviews... As ever, the food was delicious (and the venue catered well for the wheat-intolerance of my guest and I), the service was impeccable as ever, and the ambiance is difficult to beat. I never tire of the spectacular views. I walk past every day on my walk from my home to my office, and I'll be back again very soon!
We had a meal at Pont de la Tour to celebrate my father’s birthday. Most of our group took advantage of the Evening Standard set menu which was excellent value. The food was great, as was the service, my only point to improve was that one of the waiters was a little pushy with my son, trying to convince him to have a starter when there was nothing on the menu that he really fancied. Apart from that, a great experience. My Dad even got given a complementary brownie to celebrate his birthday.
Great location , service was very good and friendly . We had the Evening Standard set menu which at £20 was a steal . I had the chicken terrine and lamb terrine , both of which were very tasty . Drinks are quite expensive so overall you end up paying a reasonable price .
We really enjoyed our meal in the bar and grill on Saturday evening. We've been before, and are always impressed by the high quality food, attention to detail, attentive service and the evening standard menus make it really good value too!
Fantastic place. Great value and very tasty food! Will definitely be back.
I love this place. The staff are always so attentive and polite. We were served by a real nice guy from the US and he really made sure we were looked after well. He recommended dishes and knew the menu well plus knowledgeable about the wines. Menu was the Evening Standard fixed price offer menu which was excellent. Even the kids liked it and they are usually fussy. Highly recommend the squid starter. Will be visiting again soon!
Great service; sharp attention to detail. Wait staff at Bar & Grill runs the area very meticulously and he’s definitely passionate about providing the best experience.
3 nights in a row of great food and service!
We had such a fun time at Le Pont de la Tour, dashed there before heading to the theatre and managed to enjoy our three courses, have time to relax and generally have a great few hours. Excellent and attentive service.
Great views and service as well as good value for money with the Bottomless Brunch.
Friendly welcome, lovely food and helpful but unobtrusive service meant this was a very pleasant evening, with low noise levels which meant we could hear each other and enjoy catching up without having to compete with loud background noise. A very good evening, will definitely return.
Great offer with good range of choices. Steak was a decent size and cooked well, and the cod was tasty and presented prettily.
Loved their crab! We had 2 of them. Also we came late and Chef kindly agreed to serve us more food.
A relaxing lunch with visiting friends from overseas in a great location, great food and wonderful service.
Yes would always recommend Le Pont de la Tour because the food is always good and the views are superb!
I was there for a Friday night dinner. Booked a 20£ for 3 courses which is a great deal. At first staff was attentive, but when my main course came I asked waiter fo a carafe Of wine . He nodded and walked away . I didn’t get my wine or his attention. After my wine-less dinner asked for a bill . 25 minutes later I had to get up and go ask again. Wasn’t very pleased with service I must say
Food, very good. Staff, very good. Location Excellent. Would have been 5 stars BUT I wish these restaurants (and it seems they all do it) would get the bill right if you order from the set menu. In our case it was a £15, 2 course lunch menu. We were charged full a la carte price and had to get our bill corrected TWICE. It spoils what was an excellent experience.
Value was good simply due to the brunch deal. Loved service, view and ambience but food was constantly arriving cold. I don't like complaining and plus had a date but it was very odd.
Good on the whole. Would have been liked a little more bottomless prosecco!
Really nice experience- if the weather was better it would have been lovely to sit outside with a view of tower bridge being so close! Amazing value for money - with extra drinks & service the bill was around £50. Highly recommended
The food was really good, we didn’t know what to expect as we had opted to try an Evening standard offer but it was good value apart from the fish which was served on its own. Luckily we had ordered some sides.
The only thing that let the evening down was the service. It started well, with the waiter arriving in good time to take our order, but it went down hill when not only did they not check to see if the meal was ok, we were sitting for a long time with our empty plates and no one tried to clear them or ask if we wanted anything else. (An upsale opportunity wasted) and in the end we had to go searching for a staff member to get the bill. Then they left it and virtually ran off, leaving us feeling as though we had to hunt someone down just to pay! What a shame!
Tourist trap. A lot of money for poor food and poor service. Take your photos of stunning view of Tower Bridge and eat somewhere else.
I was initially disappointed when I first arrived with my friends, as despite my reservation being accepted we were told that there was only a table in the bar and grill (which was empty and therefore had no ambience ) and not the restaurant. It was my friends birthday and therefore had requested a seat outside (I realise that this was only a request ) at least 2 weeks in advance . Happy to say the host found us a table outside, we had a wonderful evening with great service and food. The intial disappointment was forgotten
Delicious food, world-class views, exceptional service, great ambiance, and good value food with the special set menu deal. The add-ons (a side-dish each, and a glass of wine each) more than doubles the cost, - but for a venue this special it's difficult to complain. I'll definitely be back.
Great food, excellent service, veggie salad portion was v small though (still hungry even after a side), but lovely atmosphere and the ES menu was great value if you got the steak!
Had the Evening Standard set menu which is great value for money. Great choices, which is often rare when dealing with set. The venue is lovely, cannot fault the views!, and the people are lovely and attentive (the remembered and were careful when dealing with allergies). The food was lovely, not spectacular, but clean plates at the end. HOWEVER the service was very slow which did impact the eve a tad as it meant we felt rushed by the end. Would go again, probably.
Evening standard menu great value Wonderful setting on outside table overlooking Tower Bridge
We set in one table and 10 minutes after the guy said we will close the kitchen.
