The staff were great. Had a nice bday. Thanks
It was a perfect evening. Food was excellent and so was the wine. The service was amazing. It made us feel very welcome.
Despite the rain we chose to sit outside (under shelter and with a great heater) for our meal facing Tower Bridge. The food was amazing and served in good time. At no point did we feel rushed neither did we feel ignored. The atmosphere was lovely and calm in the restaurant and the staff were helpful and attentive. A special mention to the waiter Kevin who was great. Bearing in mind the quality of food, the helpful staff, the great views and the hygiene the cost is most definitely worth it. I would recommend this place for any special occasion or a date.
Very much enjoyed the evening, staff were attentive, restaurant very good at observing Covid regulation and both the food and wine were fabulous. Will definitely return
We ate outside and felt very safe, the food was very good as was the service. The wine is a little on the pricey side, but all in all we had a lovely lunch
The food was outstanding - presentation and taste. Only niggle that there are a lot of add-ons that pushed the price up beyond what might be expected having selected the set menu. However, it was not possible to fault the service and the location is as ever wonderful.
Polite staff, delicious food and beautiful view
A niece quiet afternoon lunch was enjoyed by both of us
Warm day during the pandemic. Service was good and we sat outside under cover.
Overall nice food and view. Great location. Would eat there again
It was my friend’s birthday so I specified this when booking. I was disappointed when the waiter brought out a dessert with a candle when I was in the restroom so I missed singing happy birthday. Food was reliably good but the wine list seems to have become even more expensive and £18 for a gin and tonic seemed especially steep.
Lovely food and service but wine list starts at £70/bottle
Lovely to sit on the terrace looking at Tower Bridge. Lunch menu good value and delicious, interesting options for vegetarians and meat eaters.
Considering Covid, we felt very safe and secure sitting on the wonderful terrace overlooking the thames. Highly recommended
The wearing of masks does reduce the personal experience between diners and staff. It also removes important facial gestures which speak louder than words. We felt the the staff were all frightened to engage with us and other diners. Some jumping out of the way, for example, when a diner passed them. The table positions outside were too far apart. The experience that was once incredible was ruined. Other restaurants of equal status have done much better and maybe the owners of La Pont should visit The Ivy who so far get my 5 star vote for sensibility within the health guidelines. I am totally in agreement with safety and health but this restaurant, like others, have gone too far.
Great meal and excellent service
Food and atmosphere are good. Nice place close to tower bridge. Service is great and nice choice of food.
However, I know very well wine and they are way overpriced (x5 more than retail price).
Pont de la Tour still retains its air of refinement. The surroundings feel special and the seating is comfortable. It's also nice when you are led from the bar area into the main dining room. The food overall was good. Stand outs were the Bisque (starter) and the Lamb. Both very good indeed. The beef was tender but lacked flavour, The side salad was dry as there was so little dressing.
The service was disappointing. The bar service was surley (not a smile in sight and a feeling of pressure to make up your mind what you wanted) although the gin and tonics were mighty. The restaurant service was fine but it was hugely irritating to be asked on five occasions by the two people serving us how our meal was. I'm afraid it was one of those occasions where the waiter/waitress made their presence felt. Not so good for a restaurant of this quality.
I hadn't been to this restaurant in a long time, had the set menu which was really nice and great value for a 3 course meal. Excellent service and even got my phone charged as it died earlier on in the day. Staff really professional and polite..also quite helpful with directions back to the tube station. A pleasant day all round 💕
service was poor
Wonderful service, fantastic food, beautiful view, unbelievable offer.
As on previous visits the staff were perfect friendly, attentive but not overly and happy to accommodate a slight time change when I phoned.
The food as usual was exceptional. On this occasion they only had half a lobster left, so I changed to the Dover Sole which was cooked perfectly and expertly de-boned for me at the table coming away quickly and cleanly like in a cartoon further testament to the excellent cooking of the dish. The lobster my girlfriend had was also excellent.
I realise I skipped ahead to the mains but the started were also fantastic the smoked salmon and caviar roll with crispy green apple was my favourite.
The creme brûlée dessert was also perfect and I really can’t fault the evening at Pont de la Tour.
It’s not the cheapest dinner in London but it is always excellent especially for special occasion. So I will be back (again).
We had a very nice evening on Valentines Day,
All the staff was amazing, very careful. We had the most amazing tasting dining, they explained all the dishes and also they recommended the perfect wine that could go with the main course and desert.
Really happy, a 5* restaurant.
Good food but overpriced and very small portions
An excellent lunch in an excellent location. Very attentive and helpful service.
Food was delicious, nice restaurant , very good value for money . I would recommend it to anyone !
We really enjoyed it. Thanks
We went for anniversary and the overall experience was good
Great lunch for two as a Christmas present. Ordered off the very good value £30 fixed price incl a glass of wine. Food was very good and very well presented. We had a window table with a great view of Tower Bridge. Wines were well chosen by the sommelier. We will be returning for an evening meal soon. Thank you.
Superb food and service
Amazing place, awesome staff
Locating the entrance waa an initial problem, however once inside the ambience is very good.
The service is impeccable and very attentive
The food was tasty and served beautifully
We had a fantastic meal at Le Pont de la Tour. Service was excellent, as was the food, and the ambience. Would definitely come back.
Always liked this restaurant. This visit was outstanding - particularly the smoked salmon starter and the venison main course - brilliant !!. Waiting staff as attentive and helpful as ever.
I have been eating at Le Pont de la Tour since Kissin and Conran opened it in the early 90's. I think the restaurant is a long way off how it was in those Conran days.
The staff in some cases were verging on belligerent but, certainly quite frosty.
One waitress, rather than bend down slightly to pick up one of my guest's plate, waved at my guest until he picked up the plate and handed it to her. The whole time maintaining a cold stare at him.
The hostess receiving us was quite difficult at first about adding two extra people to our table and declined one of them. A couple of gin and tonics at the bar later (we turned up an hour early to have some pre-lunch drinks) and apparently, all of a sudden it wasn't a problem. Good but, pointless worry in the first place...
We had 3 Chateaubriand's shared across six of us. The guests who ordered rare received medium and vice versa. When we tried to manually swap our plates, all the plates were removed again by the waiter who was insistent that he fix it. Then we ended up with the same, medium went to the rare guests and vice versa. We then swapped our plates manually again, this time out of sight of the waiter for fear of being reprimanded and had a good chuckle about it.
With the seafood platter starter I asked for a finger bowl to rinse my fingers and watched it being carried past me by a waitress. I mentioned to her that I thought it was for me and could she put it down but, she was insistent on continuing past me to leave at a water station where it remained for another 5 minutes before the waitress for our table had time to bring it to me.
I will still head to Pont de la Tour occasionally due to it's location and the personal history/legacy for me but, considering how expensive it is, I couldn't recommend it to any friends as the question above asks.
Great setting and food! Set menu is bargain but wine a bit expensive. Waiter lovely but needs to be trained to not call guests ‘lady’ instead of madam and ‘gentleman’ instead of sir!
They were brilliant though and provided a special celebratory plate of gluten free chocolate brownies with message ‘congratulations on your 50 years friendship’n
Lovely meal. A little pricy though.
Always good. Nice view and nice food. Thank you
Lovely as usual - thank you
This is an iconic location doing traditional food but very well, with a very good if pricey wine list. You would pay for the location and view of a lit-up Tower Bridge
