We took my husband’s adored sister for a goodbye lunch as she was returning to India the next day after a four week holiday in the UK. It was the perfect venue. She loved the food and the ambiance, being able to watch people walk by alongside the river and the boats and ships going by on the Thames. She was very happy with the experience and we were delighted that she appreciated the restaurant so much.

Deja Vu....

This use to be our favourite Restaurant and we haven't been down here past couple of years as it lost his identity.

We decided to give another chance last night as the weather was juts right to have a dinner at the amazing terraces they have, and it was Deja Vue.
We start the evening with glass of Champagne at the bar as we use to do. We realise they now have nibbles section which something was always missing , we order couple of them and they were lovely.

Once we move to the Restaurant for dinner we realise straight away that the menu has changed and dishes were more what they use to serve, and the food were cooked perfectly.

The service now is more attentive and friendly.
Pont de la tour is back to our top list again.

Excellent food and very nice room. On this occasion the whole experience ruined by service beyond poor. Menus delivered, no one offers a pre dinner drink. No wine list with the menus. Sommelier, once flagged down, was quite knowledgeable, but after the first pour, he and our bottles disappeared. Commence to try and flag down a waiter. Order and wait and wait - is that why they call them wait staff?

Three course dinner took over three hours, mostly because of inattention by the staff. They even seemed mystified at ordering a cab, so we ubered.

We had the set menu. There was a reasonable choice and my partner and I were especially pleased with our main courses (seared trout, skate).

The staff were excellent throughout. Very helpful and attentive.

We enjoyed our table with its view across the Thames.

Superb service and excellent meal and wine list. Irresistible location when the sun is out and great for people watching. Be prepared for a big bill but worth it.

Excellent meal to celebrate a significant birthday. Impressed with the whole experience EXCEPT that the taxi organised by the restaurant was useless he drove across Tower Bridge when we were staying in Southwark. We had to use our SatNav He then charged £15 when the black cab to get there was £8 !!!!

We ate outside, by the river, which was a lovely experience and sheltered from the May breeze, however, inside also looked lovely and I'm determined to return in the autumn to try eating inside.
We chose from the set menu, which is fairly good value, although beware, it's harder to find a reasonably priced bottle of wine. The food was delicious, especially the chocolate dessert. However, the service was a little disappointing for a restaurant of this standard. Nothing that would prevent us returning, though!

OK food. Service was very slow and it was really hard to get the attention of the waiters. The sommelier ended up taking our orders. Also when I booked for 2.15 I wasn't aware that the kitchen closed at 2.45 so we rushed to order.

We were a table of seven, on Friday evening and we had a lovely time catching up. The set menu had a good selection, the food was great and the service just right. The view of Tower Bridge is great and the ambience perfect.

The view is amazing and the food was great! The only issue was that service was slow while the restaurant wasn't full. We were asked if we wanted wine and said no- we wanted something else. We had to ask for the drinks menu and no one ever came to take our order, so we didn't order drinks in the end. The rest wad excellent though.

Went for brunch. Portions are pretty small, and plates are very bare, not great considering competition right around the corner, so a bit disappointing. The restaurant itself however is lovely, and the service impeccable.

We visited for my husband's birthday and staff were friendly and welcoming. The service was efficient without being obtrusive and the meal was very tasty. We had the set menu and enjoyed every course. They also brought my husband a piece of birthday cake after dessert which was unexpected but much appreciated. Unfortunately the weather was terrible so we couldn't sit on the terrace but our table was by the window so we still had a good view of the river.

Been here lots of times, service on this occasion was really hard work. From being told you can’t reserve outdoors by phone. Arriving to an empty restaurant and being waited at bar tables with no drinks. Having to find the seater greater to check if a table was ready. Having to ask for menus, having to ask for drinks, having to ask for condiments, having to ask for sides that didn’t arrive, given the wrong drink, having to chase for the correct one having to repeatedly ask for menus for desert and then the same for the bill. I felt like I was working there myself !

The location and the food is lovely but be prepared to pay a HIGH price.
Portions are SO small... and so expensive.

Full of waiters but we have to ‘hunt’ them for being attended.

It’s a pity because the food is well prepared and delicious but so minimalist...

Think twice!

This was a particularly disappointing visit. We had popped by the day before to enquire about getting a table outside so that we would have space for our buggy, and so that if the baby cried it wouldn't disturb diners as much. We were told that they couldn't reserve outdoor tables, and we would just have to see on the day. So imagine our surprise at being told that the selection of empty outdoor tables were booked, and therefore we had to be sat inside in what was an almost empty restaurant. We were then told that they had run out of spinach, so couldn't provide a suitable side dish. A tiny amount of spinach was then delivered, and we were told patronisingly that we wouldn't be charged for it; given it was smaller than a golf ball, I would have been seriously upset if they had tried to add it to the bill. We were then told that they had gluten free bread, but about 30mins later were told that they had run out. Our waiter also seemed not to notice that his collar was untucked for the entire meal, and for some odd reason failed to provide a menu to one of our guests, after having given the rest of us menus, and still having one in his hand. This is supposed to be the upmarket version of the D&D chain, and yet it felt substandard; the eggs benedict was average, and the roast chicken was pink in the middle. Not good enough!

We visited on Sunday for a family birthday meal, it was one of the worst dining experiences I have had at a restaurant in a very long time.

The service was extremely poor and the food took over 1.5 hours to arrive and when it did two of the main dished were incorrect and needed to be reordered with the kitchen.

The food was mediocre at best and certainly not what I would expect from this type of establishment.

The waiting staff were busy walking up and down but amazingly good at ignoring your request to actually tend your table and serve you!

I have dined at this restaurant many times over the past 20+ years due to its amazing location and fantastic food, I am sad to say that the only reason to now visit is to admire the great view of Tower Bridge.

Not the birthday celebration that I had hoped for.

I have been to Le Pont De La Tour on several occasions and it is aslways fabulous. My husband and myself went there this time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We dined off of the set menu which was very good value for money. I went for the salmon and my husband the oysters, both which were great, although the oysters a bit small. The main course of pork was beautiful. For dessert we both went for the tarte tatin which was amazing. The restaurant also took note that it was our anniversary and very kindly did a happy anniversary in chocolate for us which was a really lovely touch. I would definitely recommended Le Pont De La Tour to anyone for a beautiful restaurant, with great food and amazing views of London and the Thames.

We have been many times before - usually taking visitors because of the view of tower bridge.

The food was ok but the service was poor - verging on the aggressive when my husband asked to check the waiter was pouring the sparking water ( not still ). The sommelier slopped the wine into our glasses and spilling ( no apology). There was a 40 minute wait between finishing our starters and getting our mains ( and there was no “time- tricky” dish like a well done steak to hold it up ).

We would have withheld the service charge had it not been difficult in front of our guests ( it was her birthday and we didn’t want to spoil it for her) but we won’t be back.

My husband and I had a lovely evening celebrating his birthday at Le Pont de la Tour. We didn't manage to get a table on the terrace but were seated by the large open windows, which was nice any way. We ordered from the set menu, each course was stunning, particularly the fish main. The wine list was expansive and reasonably priced. The staff were wonderful and professional, a minor issue we had was dealt with swiftly. I highly recommend Le Pont de la Tour.
