Lovely place, great food
A genuinely wonderful evening in a well-established venue that knows what it’s doing. A more formal venue but in no way stuffy. Food and service were particular highlights.
Very good experience. Lovely food esp using Evening Standard menu offer. Thank you
It's a bit too expensive for what it is. The fridge cold cheese plate is outright disappointing. Half of the wine list is not available. On our visit several course from the menu were not available.
Good food. Small portion vs the price
Excellent so enjoyable - Jean Luca made us so welcome and all the team made the evening memorable for my wife and I. We don’t go out often as the children are young but we will look forward to our next visit
Pretensions of a great restaurant- which sadly doesn’t deliver. At best the food was ordinary. At worst it was awful. I had to send my whole sea bass back because the poor thing had been left under the grill so long it was like dry cotton wool. The pudding macaroon was dry and/or stale. The starter was ok but then it’s hard to get a terrible wrong. I will not return.
Exceptional restaurant! Nice vibe, good service and excellent food. It was for an anniversary and they had a surprise for us at the end, thanks a lot!!!
We booked Pont de la Tour as a special meal for my Birthday and we have enjoyed meals at many D+D Restaurants over the last few years.
Considerating this is a fine dining restaurant we were extremely disappointed with our visit here. We have never experienced anything like this before.
We were sat at our table at 5.30pm as requested, chose our 1st and 2nd courses from the al a carte menu with accompanying wines with the advice of the sommelier, white wine for the first course, (Devon crab) red for the second course (Steak)
Our white wine and 1st course arrived by 5.45pm, before 6pm we were asked to taste our red wine and we hadn’t even finished our white wine from the first course????
Next thing our main course arrived, this is now 5.50pm!!!!’
We asked for time to finish our white wine, (by the way, it was only a half bottle) so the main course was sent back to the kitchen.
By 6.15pm our red wine and our main course has arrived back to our table.
We felt that we were being rushed through the meal even though the restaurant was not busy (most of the tables were unoccupied)
We felt most uncomfortable and decided to leave ASAP.
In summary, the food and the wine was delicious but the overall experience at Pont de la Tour was unacceptable due to the rushed service.
A "proper" restaurant. Delicious, well presented plates, fancy but not over done. Old fashioned service, but with warmth and personality. It's expensive, but good value.
Absolutely wonderful, as usual. We live round the corner and took my parents for Christmas lunch. My father was there the day this opened in 1992 and it has remained consistently excellent.
Food was amazing. Wine excellent. A touch expensive and well worth it. Service dipped off a bit when it got busy and not a material issue
Had the most wonderful evening here with my boyfriend as a Christmas treat. Food was outstanding and service was fantastic. We will be back.
Starter had pieces of gristle and bone in it. The other courses were bland . Very very disappointing
Quite simply, excellent. The food is a joy and the service is superb. A special mention for Thomas, the Sommelier, incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the restaurant's glorious drinks menu.
As ever a great meal. Excellent , attentive and helpful staff. I will certainly visit again!!
It was nice place and good location and very good waiter service
We had festive fixed price menu and I was surprised that there was then additional cost for vegetables or potatoes- that kind of defeats the point of a fixed price menu!
Also the turkey was £5 more but was quite small
Deserts were good
Great Sunday Roadt
Really excellent service, very nice food, well presented.. good wine list, but only had wine by the glass... will visit again...
Excellent food and service - we'll certainly return (though we shan't be there every week!). Worth planning to go to celebrate something (very) special.
Was a nice meal. Staff were very accommodating (I have allergies) and the food was delicious.
Our experience was absolutely wonderful. The staff was on point and flawless during the entire meal - making sure we always had a full glass of water. Their wine selection is second to none with bottles from all over the world. The food was not only delicious but the presentation was absolutely beautiful for each course. We will definitely come back next time we travel to London!!
Delicious food and great service. Excellent wine recommendations too by the sommelier.
The lobster wine and oysters were out of this world. Most expensive and most worth it dinner out of the 5 continents I’ve been to.
I had the set menu. The food was tasty and well presented. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Good overall value for the food quality and service received.
Wonderful ambiance! Always enjoy dining here. Set menu is a great value
Beautiful place, excellent food
I have been to this restaurant a few times now but this time the set menu was not great. Service was good and the views also good as we sat by the window.
Great meal for a birthday celebration. Good service and food was very good. Wine list is extensive and advice on hand. Ambience for a Thursday evening was great.
Excellent service all round
Particularly Angelo behind the bar !
We changed our table time twice & it was no problem for the restaurant team. We had chateaubriand which was fantastic...
Starters were excellent including langoustine veloute and scallops with truffle
The sommelier was brilliant and the Getty Chambertin was an excellent choice
Great place with an incredible person to accompany me.
Excellent food and service. Our server Gianluca was excellent. We will definitely go back.
A great evening out for a birthday meal. Would have been amazing but wrong dessert was given . No fuss about changing but the other two had finished theirs by the time the replacement came.
This is a revised review.
We had a not so great experience here a few weeks ago but I was contacted by the manager with a very sincere apology along with an invitation to revisit the restaurant which turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I had. The manager was extremely gracious and informed me that he is in the process of making the past negative experience and turning that around to improve their restaurant.
Every part of the evening when we were there the second time around was pretty much perfect. The service, food and of course the scenic view with a wonderful table they sat us at was fantastic.
Their oysters were perfection, they were completely off the shell while cradled in the shell with just the right amount of liquere. The starters and the mains were divine. If you're looking for a cozy yet spacious place for a special occasion or a date this is the best place to go. Thank you Massimiliano for inviting us back for such a wonderful evening.
This was my second visit in 2018 foe a business lunch. The food and wine were excellent. The service was very attentive and my client was happy. A success. I would go there again.
We ate from the fixed price menu so it did not break the bank. Service was excellent throughout. The food was well prepared. All this, together with the warm and welcoming ambience, made for a very good dinner.
We had a wonderful meal at Pont de la Tour to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The service was faultless and the food fantastic. They provided a birthday dessert and candle for my friend as a surprise - an extremely thoughtful touch. The restaurant had a lovely, cosy ambiance; even though nearly every table was occupied, it felt like you had a lot of privacy and you could have a good conversation with your fellow diners. Highly recommended!
Great staff - very professional.
Food is very tastefully and skilfully prepared.
View is beautiful.
Great value special deal meal. Amazing but expensive wine list. Lovely al la carte menu. Great for special occassions. We will return.
Even though we arrived a little late towards end of lunch service the welcome could not have been warmer or the staff more obliging. A lovely lunch in the sunshine; totally reliable dining.
