Legends Grille
Legends Grille in East Windsor was previously known in East Windsor as Basil’s Legends Lamb Chop House. It continues to offer the same Mediterranean dishes using many of the same recipes with the addition of a few new items as well as a kid’ menu. Open for lunch and dinner, Legends Grille offers early bird specials on a cash only basis as well as a daily appetizer and entrée special.
With sandwiches, soups, pasta, steaks and chops, there is something for everyone on the Legends Grille menu. It will have you coming back over and over again, if only to have the wizard’s famous lamb chops. Choose New Zealand or porterhouse loin lamb chops and select Basil’s famous seasoning or the savoy - a rosemary, balsamic vinegar and garlic creation topped with an apricot chutney. The service was attentive as always. The menu offered the perfect voice for a cold day - a Buffalo chicken panini. I asked for a side Greek salad. The panini was accompanied by blue cheese dipping sauce. The salad was fresh and tasty.. The panini was wonderfully sharp a flavorful.
I ordered my favorite chicken panini with a side of Greek salad. Both were well prepared and flavorful.
They offer outside dining under a tent as well as inside dining carefully spaced. The food as always is excellent. I had a blacked chicken panini with blue cheese for dipping accompanied by a great Greek salad with flavorful dressing. The service is attentive.
there were too many flies and they were annoying. food and service were good.
I ate inside and enjoyed a wonderful Greek salad and a hot blackened chicken panini with blue cheese on the side. The food was excellent and the service attentive. They also have outside dining under a tent.
Food was very good. My son’s lamb was raw and cold but corrected immediately. I would like to suggest maybe a roasted garlic on the bread instead of the harsh raw. It has a way to burn your pallet.
Rack of lamb was delicious!
Chops were seasoned very well but one was somewhat raw. The homemade brownies were also good.
This small family owned place offers a variety of great dishes, from appetizers through dessert. My wife and I are local and tried this place for a valentines dinner and left very satisfied.
We shall be returning- often!
The lamb chops are great!!!
Good! Food was very good. Service good also. It’s one of my favorite places to eat.
Good selection of food choices with fair prices. I had a cheesesteak which could have been cooked a little less but was tasty. Husband had a pasta with chicken, sausage, etc which he liked a lot. This was a quick stop while we were on the road and it hit the spot.
Food is excellent so is staff!!!!
Horrible diner food with dirty plates. Steak came out too raw and was sent back to be grilled more, very tasteless. Very disappointed.
I DINE AT LEGENDS AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH. THE RACK OF LAMB IS MY FAVORITE. FOOD AND DRINK ARE GOOD AND THE SERVICE TOO. ONE OF OUR FAVORITE PLACES TO DINE.
Really excellent food. So fresh and nice portions. Friendly service and good value. Will go back!
The food is far superior to the honky tonk look of the place.
The food was mediocre at best. The signature soup was too salty and the sauce on the chicken I had was lumpy and you could taste the flour that was used to thicken it, plus it had a funky taste. I know there was dill in it but it didn't taste like dill. It was the day before St. Patrick's Day and they had NO Irish beer. The service was fine and the atmosphere was ok although there was a "moldy, musty" smell. Not my best dining experience. Will not be returning.
Reliable and consistent in food taste. Varied menu- Kelly the server outstanding
Already wrote review on Trip Advisor- this place is not worth the stop... not at all...
The food was terrible - here is the review I posted
We started with grilled octopus served over salad with feta tomatoes and balsamic.... the sales was drowned in dressing and the octopus was so fishy we couldn’t even eat it. You would think that when returned and only thing in plate was the fish, the waiter or chef would have made some concession... nope!!!
Poor kid, so young and inexperienced. I put that on the owner; not giving him the proper training... he didn’t even offer water.
Second course we split a French onion soup- beef bullion watered down with onions, cheese and piece of bread in it that wasn’t toasted... such a simple thing to do and makes such a difference... no flavor at all!!
Dinner we each ordered the lamb souvlaki- tough and fatty meat, cooked onions and tomatoes- all burnt with an “over- charred” flavor. I asked for Grecian potatoes and got in essence french fries just cut differently- the Greek potatoes I know are roasted with lemon...
A simple Cabernet wine was so bad I didn’t even finish it....
Wow- really a waste of time and money!! Crazy how they say on their street sign outside highly recommended by Trip Advisor- they must have asked every relative they had to review....
The grilled octopus was delicious and my father said they sure know how to make a steak...
Drove over an hr. To get there and Very disappointed with the whole experience. Not was at at like the reviews. My fiancé got sick later after eating the overdone chicken fingers. Dinner salad was the smallest I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Cheap.
Service was good but left thinking would not recommend to friends. Tables to close together. Had a annoying family next to us with 2 small children who did not behave. Not worth the prices for the tiny portions. For a romantic night it definitely did not work. The coconut shrimp came out way over cooked.
My fiancé had to ask for another set of silverware. It looked dirty. The interior of the place should be updated.
The Lamb and Duck are delicious Nice wine list. Honor special requests
Extremely overpriced - food less than mediocre - poor quality lamb -
$129 for two people - one had lamb one a salad for dinner - they are locAted in a Days
Inn - seriously that much money for poor quality
This was our second time to this restaurant. It was a bit crowded and there was just one waitress, so she was a bit overwhelmed. However service was good and prompt. We ordered their lamb chops and they were still delicious, though a bit burnt and overdone, even though we asked for medium rare. The portions were large, but the salads were small and unimpressive. All in all, we enjoyed our meal and would go there again if we have friends over.
Always great food. Good service. All the people I bring always are happy they came.
Food and service were great. Will definitely return
Great food! Salmon was prepared to perfection!
Small quaint restaurant with made-to-order fresh food. Pleasantly surprised. The Greek pork loin was delicious.
Great food! Super service!! Much more than one would expect from its surroundings!
Great neighborhood restaurant...food cooked to order, fresh, crisp salad, great chops and steaks, excellent service.
I liked this place, but I didn't love it. The grilled octopus $13.99)was delicious, the lamb souvlaki ($12.99) had very tiny pieces of lamb in it. I was told that the coconut shrimp ($10.99) was good, as were the lamb chops(29.99). The service was pretty spotty, and the decor was kind of blah. For the money, there are much better choices out there.
My wife and I have become regulars at Legends Grille. The menu has enough variety for frequent dining, and we love the food. It's casual, and the service is always excellent. Although this is inside the Days Inn, it is not a hotel restaurant. It is separately owned and operated. I highly recommend giving it a try.
Legend wings were exceptional also was the new Zealand lamb chops. Everythi g we had was good.
Food was good and service prompt and good.
Not too crowded because it was early.
Nice to have certificate
I'm a repeat customer. Never disappointed! Highly recommend that you make a reservation.
The reataurant is small and noisy. The servers and bus boys/girls make no attempt to clean tables and dispose of dirty dishes quietly, on the contrary they seem to do it as loudly as possible. None of the cooks or chefs were wearing hand covers, and with the constant handling of food in the kitchen, which is visible, it was not up to current cleanliness standards.
I ordered a bourbon old fashion which was terrible with very little liquor. The most positive note is that the chops were very good, although somewhat pricey for such a "diner like"atmosphere.
Was very pleasantly surprised! Excellent food and service!
Great neighborhood restaurant. Best Lamb Chops around.
The food and service are excellent. My wife and I have made this a regular stop on our dining circuit.
