Been going here for years and I have never been disappointed with my food or the service. We both had the special, Bronzino fish and the preparation and taste were excellent. The service was seamless and we never felt rushed.
Very nice ambiance for double-dating!
Lobster with fettuccini special was tough and overcooked....$29.
The chicken paprikash is amazing!
Food and service were excellent.
Felt a little rushed but it was Valentines day so all good. Tables were a little close so hard to manuver around but again Valentines day.
Food was good not great. Fact that it's a BYOB is good. Service was good for me , not rushed. Staff was attentive. It should be noted that all is ala carte. Portions were adequate.
I went to Lili’s Bistro for a friend’s birthday. We were warmly greeted and the food was fresh and delicious. My friends had dietary restrictions and they went out of their way to make sure their requests were met.
Great place for dinner. We all had the Bronzino and we all loved it. First time here however friends of mine have been there many times and said nothing but great things about the place. We will be back.
3 for 3. Each time I have tried something new and have not been disappointed. The halibut special was outstanding. The service is friendly and the cost is reasonable. We will be back.
Food is good and very reasonably priced. Plenty of parking.
Great food! just heads up on a couple of things:
1. It’s BYOB - didn’t know until we got there
2. Long wait times, I guess thats European service for you? Our sitting time was really 2 hours
Because it was Christmas Eve, the restaurant was very busy.the service was somewhat slower than normal, which is to be expected on such a busy evening. The wait staff was extremely pleasant and apologize for some of the delay, which we had no problem with. Food was excellent.
Very disappointed with the goulash, VERY small portion! and meat was not very tender . Vegetable farfalle was very good, apple strudel and pistachio tartufo were delicious, specials were overpriced!
This was our second time and we brought family members with us this time. The amazing service and food from our first visit was repeated again. The selection was great, the taste and portion size were on point. We have found our new go to restaurant. Don’t ever change.
This restaurant is a neighborhood gem. The food was fresh and service was good. We had the avocado marque as an appetizer and the specials —- lamb shank and branzino fish. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse cake. Everything was scrumptious. We plan to go again.
The food was fresh and delicious. The owners were very friendly.
I enjoyed my time and meal at Lili's Bistro. The food was good. We shared the mozzarella app, which was good, but lacked dressing. I had the lamb chops which lacked flavor, but tasted good when a little salt was added. The couscous was delicious. My boyfriend got the steak which he seemed to enjoy.
This was our first time here. Great BYOB place. The rolls and hummus at the beginning was flavorful and rolls had that perfect crust with a light crunch and soft inside. I could have eaten them all night. Fortunately we continued. We shared the scallop appetizer special. It was delicious. Served over mashed parsnips. Seasoning was perfect as well as how they were cooked. Then had the pear salad. It was so good I got one to go. And that was delicious for lunch two days later. The balance of spring mix, walnuts, blue cheese and lemon dressing was perfect. For an entree my husband had the salmon. Cooked perfectly. I had the beef goulash. It was good. Again, the seasonings were perfect. Some pieces of the beef were a little dry, but overall everything was very good. Had left overs to enjoy for dinner during the week. We were too full for dessert, but all the ones that went by looked good. We will definitely be back.
One of the most disappointing dining experiences in recent memory. The mediocre to inedible food is served in overly large portions that remind one of those chain restaurant tv commercials. I had to send back my order as it was not what I ordered and was given an inexplicable excuse for the deception, Indeed the mess on the plate was very off-putting. Chicken Paprikash was terrible and Wiener Schnitzel was anything but appetizing. Service is confused and waiters don't seem to understand what exactly they should be doing. And the restaurant should decide if it is Italian or Hungarian or whatever--just do yourself a favor and avoid this sorry excuse for a restaurant, Caveat Emptor!
Great food, very attentive and respectful service.
Excellent family owned place with great service and really good food. I expect to.become a regular guest.
overall this was just a so-so experience. the hamburger was an obvious re-heat up--so perfectly round and dry--not even the lettuce and tomato helped. the French onion soup, while rich, was overly salty. should have asked what was in the "special" Lili meatballs--they were just that, meatballs.
The four of us are always looking for a new place to dine and we found the perfect spot in Bergen County. The service was perfect. The owner walked the room and made sure everyone was being well served. The menu has many options for meat and fish lovers as well as vegetarians. Their Italian dishes are perfectly done. I had the fish special (branzino) and the filet was prepared to perfection. I can go on and on but I will end this by saying we have found our new dinner spot.
First time here. Very good crowd and I thought that it should be a reasonable reasonable. We ordered soups, apps, and entries. Waiter totally forgot our soups and apps. We had to remind him 30+ minutes after we’ve placed our order. Cream of mushroom was watery and warm not hot. Waiter told us the soup was late because they had to make it fresh. So you go figure. The apps on LiLi’s meatball was too dry and the mussels did not have the fresh taste. We ordered lamb chop medium rare, and came out well done. We ordered ATLANTIC salmon and came out too dry and no salmon taste. Medium rare veal chop did not had veal taste. We told the waiter that lamb chop was overcooked. He told us the owner waived the charge on that order and also offered us complementary coffee and dessert. Coffee was ok. But the apple strudel was a disaster. It was not fresh, microwave warmup job, and pastry outside was soft and soggy. Overall, food is not even matching up to an average diner standard. Very disappointed. I gave 3 star just because they took our comment on the overcook lamb chop and free dessert. Should have been 2.
Awesome food and service, and ambiance is elegant. Very authentic European. Lili’s Bistro always brings on pure nostalgia. It is like sitting in a restaurant somewhere in Europe. Dinner tends to be a bit pricey for the size of the portion, but the three-course prix fixe menu has great selections. Unfortunately, there is no separate kid’s menu. My favorite dish is the good old Hungarian Gulash, and for dessert, tiramisu is a must have.
As always the food at Lili's was excellent! The wait staff was also very attendtive. There is always a homey feel every time we go to Lili's.
A nice little restaurant next to movie theater. Staff friendly and attentive. Food was better than average, prices were of good value. It's BYOB so that makes a good for your wallet.
Food was tasty and well-prepared.
Service was courteous and informative.
Looking forward to a return visit.
Food and service excellent. Meatballs are a must. Had short ribs tender and delicious.
Great food. My niece said this is her new favorite Italian restaurant.
First time there food was good. Staff very nice and pleasant. Would definitely go back!
The food and service is always excellent at Lili’s. I look forward to eating there whenever I am in the area
As a place for locals to go for a reasonable meal, Lili's is fine. However, it is not worth traveling to. Basically it has standard Italian dishes plus a few Hungarian ones. Nothing unusual, and nothing particularly well prepared.
My wife and I are always looking for new places to dine. We got this recommendation from a friend.
Turns out it was a good experience food was good as well as the service. Someone must have called out sick or something one waiter handled a crowd of 30 by himself and I didn’t here one complaint from any of the other customers he did a great job.
On another note open table asks if there is a special occasion like birthday or anniversary etc. I filled in it was my wife’s birthday nobody said a word.
We will definitely go back
The owner was very friendly and checked in on us. The food was very good, we all liked what we ordered. Our party of four was not pleased with the service. The wait staff was curt and unfriendly. They brought us dessert and we had to ask for silverware and plates. Would have mentioned this to the owner, but she had left for the night.
Enjoyed a delicious meal of sautéed scallops, which were cooked perfectly. My friend had the bronzino special and said it was delicious. My other friend had the shrimp special and said it was delicious. BYOB is a plus. Very good and will go back.
I have been to Lili's Bistro on a quiet Monday and recently on a busy Mother's Day and both dinners were met with fine service, delicious food and a warm atmosphere. I love Lili's Bistro!
Family run local restaurant with European specialties. Hungarian goulash was terrific and the desserts were great. We will definitely visit again.
Thank you so much for your review. We are looking forward seeing you again soon!
The owner and staff are so welcoming and friendly.
Good luck with the new party room.
What a pleasant surprise. One doesn't usually expect such good food and great service in a strip mall restaurant. Can't wait to return. The food is delicious as was the hostess who I presume is Lili.
