Yummy as always!!!
Food was great! Waiter said “apologies for the delay. Everyone came in at once.” It was a Friday night , the place should expect a lot of people to come in at once on a Friday. Also, I expect that people there would make reservations, etc. therefore, you should know and staff appropriately. There were a lot of servers and limited waiters. Maybe the waiter was just new. Other than that, vibe and food was great. Service was “okay “, nothing exceptional.
As usual, a perfect dinner! Our favorite place!
L'inizio is one of my favorite restaurants. Reliable good food - great food! Friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Always something new to try and servers are so knowledgable.
Excellent food — especially the pastas — as usual. Heather (Co-owner) is wonderful. Service is really nice and not overbearing. Drinks are outstanding. Only wish is that they wouldn’t overdress the salads!!
Food was great but I think they need some gluten free options on the menu. I have a gluten allergy and was told what I ordered was gluten free but not sure that was true since I was sick after but the food was delicious. I am willing to bet the chicken scarpiello had some flour in the sauce
Really good food and really cool ambiance. Love the small restaurant feel.
Oh those Fratanagelo chefs! Chef Scott changes it up weekly and this week he offered a scrumptious risotto with chorizo and fresh corn. Wow! Chef Heather conjured up an exquisite S’mores panna cotta with a sublime chocolate “pudding” lower layer, melted milk chocolate on top of that and a torched marshmallow to finish it off. Housemade graham crackers on the side. The 2 David’s, Eddie and Luis continue to provide excellent service. A Michelin Star candidate restaurant if there ever was one. Speed there!
Fantastic creative homemade pastas in a quaint and cozy environment. Great find!
Excellent service. Delicious, very reasonable prices food.
We gave L'inizio another try after several years. They seem to have a nice menu and we'd love to like it. BUT we had another extremely disappointing experience. On the positive side, appetizers and salads were good. We were at the restaurant for a good 1/2 hour before we finally got our drinks. My husband ordered a dirty martini, and when he asked for extra olive juice (to actually make the martini dirty) the waitress admitted she could not find any. The service was awful, down to the maître d "auctioning" our entrees when he brought them to the table. My pasta needed salt and more cheese, but the waitress didn't come back to us for a long time after food was delivered. This was our third and final attempt to eat at L'inizio. I have no idea how they survive.
Never a disappointment, they were busy when my husband and I arrived so we grabbed a drink at the bar to pass the time. Food was incredible and finished with the s’mores dessert. Great for date night
Been there many times. Overall disappointing visit
This is one of our favorite restaurants! Whether it is a meal with friends, or a celebration with family, L'inizio never disappoints! We love Chef Scott and Pastry Chef Heather!!
Three of us dined at Linizios on a wednesday evening. We all ordered from the prix fixe menu. The roasted cauliflower appetizer was different and delicious. Both of the pastas dishes we ordered were outstanding. The sauces were wonderful. The desserts as always were incredible! Linizios remains a local favorite
Amazing homemade pasta, delicious dessert. 5 stars!!!
Love this restaurant. Heather is always so warm and friendly. The food is fresh and inventive. The service is consistently excellent.
Celebrated my friends birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and the service fabulous. We will definitely return!
The food and service were impeccable as always. Truly delicious and a wonderful night out!
Great little find! Terrific food and wine. Burrata salad was insanely good.
The food is outstanding. Every dish was remarkable. The squash lasagna, mozzarella, pate, hummus all spectacular.
Our favorite special local restaurant
This is a pretty place - especially the bar. We were greeted and immediately informed they were short-handed. Welcome!
We ordered one of the special appetizers, to be told they ran out a few minutes later - it was barely 7pm.
Everyone agreed that the food was good, but not outstanding enough to warrant the prices (come on, a nearly $30 bowl of pasta should be IMPRESSIVE) and portions were less-than-generous.
One person in our party asked if they could make cacio e pepe - not an unreasonable or demanding request, and one that most chefs are happy to accommodate - and was shut down immediately. Our server wasn’t even willing to ask in the kitchen.
The bread wasn’t impressive until it was toasted, then it was amazing. The burrata was the stingiest, most reluctant portion I’ve ever seen, surrounded by delicious things. We had to request more grilled bread to accommodate our appetizers, a request that was not well-received. Was the chef in the back terrorizing the staff over every request? It sure seemed like it. Our servers seemed knowledgeable and competent, but seemingly under pressure.
We all felt that two of the pastas were slightly over-cooked, but we didn’t feel comfortable reporting it.
This was a celebratory meal, and we felt rushed throughout, though it wasn’t a busy evening. Appetizers were cleared so quickly, it was hard to relax. It felt glum and serious and less-than-gracious. Not a joyful or cheerful environment. We’re enthusiastic eaters & drinkers and wanted to have fun. We’d easily have ordered another bottle of wine and dessert anyplace else.
Wine glasses weren’t sparkly clean, which they should always be.
It felt like the check was slapped on the table before I even finished saying ‘No thank you’ to dessert! Our server returned to pick it up before I even looked it- that’s how rushed it was. We still had plenty of wine in our glasses.
A good restaurant should make you feel welcome, a great one makes you feel valued. We felt neither.
This was our second visit to Linzio and it DID NOT disappoint! Every thing about our meal from the moment we alked in until we left was delightful. The food and wine was exquisite as was the service.
We will be back again!!
I will definitely eat at L'inizio again, but I have to say my carbonara was a little disappointing. It was far too salty. However, everything else is great and our companions loved their meals.
Friendly helpful stay and excellent good perfectly portioned.
Our first time there. Everything from the food the service and the ambiance was outstanding. We will definitely be back!
Excellent food and service
Unique, everything was excellent
Have lived in area 20+years and have seen iterations of this restaurant. From my attempts to master the parking meter to receiving the check, staff are pleasant and attentive. A beautiful dinner experience.
Great food, pleasant experience. Would definitely go back.
Food is amazing- flavors are wonderful and very original. A total gem of a restaurant.
This must be the best Italian food in Westchester. It is an intimate dining experience with attentive staff.
We LOVE this restaurant. The food is so good and the staff is wonderful.
Very cozy , great food and very nice service.
Always enjoy our meals at L’inizio! Mother’s Day brunch was amazing as expected: steak & eggs, omelette, French toast, burger, Brussels, avocado toast! Yum! Always wonderful!
Food was very good. The halibut was wonderfully prepared and was the cauliflower appetizer. The donuts for dessert are amazing. Will come back.
The food at L'inizio was wonderful. The menu was unique and not cookie cutter. The staff was really helpful ( we had a handicapped diner). They explained the menu beautifully. I would absolutely recommend L'inizio.
The pork dish that I ordered was just fabulous. One of the best dinners ever. Can’t rave enough about this meal!
